With Sympathy...........

Hi there...

The card I am going to show you today is perhaps the most difficult of cards to make and send....A Sympathy Card........

I used the Unity Store Kit 'With Sympathy'    I stamped the Tree 3 times, then the birds and clear embossed. This is then coloured with Distress Inks. I added the sentiment last as I wasn't sure which one would fit! Don't you just love how planned my cards are??? I matted it onto some textured cardstock. I've stamped the Tree in Peeled Paint Distress Ink along the bottom of the base card...A ribbon is all that's needed to finish it off....

Thanks for looking and I'll see you again soon.

Season's Greetings... Already? Really?!!!

Hi there, it’s Ruby.  I cannot believe that I have had to start my Christmas cards already.  Where has this year gone?!

271112
This 5.5” x 5.5” card uses just a few simple stamps but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.  At this time of year you need cards that you can easily produce and this one works great as a production line type card!

The mistletoe is from Lawn Fawn Bows & Holly, the little bird from Lawn Fawn Critters Farm and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler.

I coloured the little red tummy on the bird to make him a little robin.

Copics used…
  • BG96, G94, plus C1 to add some shading.  Greys are great for toning down colours a little
  • E33, E35, E37, R27, R24

Have you started your Christmas cards yet?  I have only made 3 so far! If you haven’t started yet it’s just 4 weeks today so you might want to get started!  There are some adorable Christmas stamps in the shop.

Have a great week!

Joyful greetings

Hello.
I have been looking at different ways to use my dies and nesties.
While die cutting lots of pennets for bunting i realised the negative could be used as a Christmas tree.
I stamped the sentiment from paper smooches "Joyful greetings" .
Although this set is currently out of stock  you could use ...
And make your own sentiment.
Thanks for looking.

Holiday Cheer!!

Hello, Jenny here :0)....

I apologise for my current snowy theme here on a Saturday morning
but the latest Paper Smooches Christmas stamps are such fun to play with and of
course they mix perfectly with older sets too.

I love all the funny snowmen in the sets so I thought
these two guys would like to have some fun on a card....

... not sure they're evenly matched size wise but hey ho :0)

I've used one of the germs from 'Healthy Vibes' because without the face it looks
like a splatted snowball and sits perfectly overthe snowmans face......
I added googly eyes instead and the fact that
one of them has stuck in the up position just adds to the dazed look!!

Here are the sets I've used: Freezy Fellas, Healthy Vibes
I've also used Swanky Snowdudes and Christmas Sampler
both of which are currently out of stock but more are on their way :0)

Thanks for looking

Time to Come Out of Your Shell!

Hi there.  It’s Ruby. My daughter had to do some little thank you cards for her friends and with time being limited I went into a little mass production with variation on colour.

201112

I added a touch of colour with my copics and coloured the little (originally white) flower to match.

I used the little turtle from Paper Smooches 'Party Posse’ and the sentiment is from one of my favourite sentiment sets, Paper Smooches 'Simply Said', it’s got so many lovely sentiments, plus it just looks ‘happy’ somehow lol.  See….!!!

Simply Said
So I hope you like my little cards, I’ve taken a pic of one on it’s own too so you can see the detail a bit better.  These were super simple to make, which is great when your daughter remembers they need to be made the night before she needs to hand them out!!  Have a great day!

Egg nog anyone?

Hi everyone, it's Emily here today

I have some Christmas cards to share with you using the Smeared Ink, Occasions Li'l Grumpies stamp set,I LOVE this stamp set!

I am not very good at making lots of cards the same, 4 is probably about my limit.  I used Lawn Fawn Fa La La 6" by6" paper to give them a bit of individuality.

A close up of the Grumpie - these are so great to colour.  I kept him fairly neutral using the copic warm greys so that the hat would realy stand out.

The greeting is from the same stamp sheet and says 'tis the season for lots of eggnog'

Thanks for dropping in

Lawn fawn Pop up card tutorial

Hello.
I have wanted to make a pop up card for a while and thought for my first try at making one i would share how i made it.
I hope i have made it clear enough.

Start with two pieces of card.
One plain card stock one patterned paper.
Both the same size.
Score to make your card base...both pieces.

Hopefully the picture explains how to score and cut.
You will only score and cut the plain card stock.

 It should like this inside.....

 And like this when folded.

Add double sided tape, be careful not to add any to the centre bit that's been score and cut.
Then stick together with your patterned paper.

Now choose your stamps and decorate the inside.

This is my finished card on the front I have kept it quite simple.

The inside, all popped up and 3d.
I have used all lawn fawn stamps.
Sets used are...
Let it snow and Critters in the snow, These are both out of stock ....But more are on the way.
This would also work well with Making frosty friends.
I also used .....
Thanks for looking.

A Chilly Milk Carton

Morning everyone... Jenny here :0)

At Christmas time I like to make fun packaging for sweet treats so my son
can give them out at the end of term to his classmates and teachers.

In my quest to find a suitable design and shape I decided to use the
Paper Smooches Chilly Chums stamp set to decorate a milk carton
to contain Frosty Snowballs... or sugar coated chocolate balls to you and I :0)

I cut the milk carton on my cricut expression using Tags, Bags, Boxes and more 2
and then stamped the snowy sky using Lawn Fawn's Let it Snow whilst the box was still flat.

The Chilly Chums are stamped and coloured with Promarkers before cutting them out
and sitting them in the snowy landscape... the trees are from Warm Hearts
and the sentiment from Freezy Fellas :0)

To close the box I punched two holes and then tied a ribbon through so it
didn't haveto be torn open.

I think the chilly chums look rather cute and lend themselves quite well to
fun packaging....especially at Christmas time :0)

Thanks for looking and hope you have some crafty time this weekend.

A Buckle Nosed Cow?!

Hiya, sorry I didn’t get to post last week.  The lovely Emily stepped in for me, thank you Emily, you’re a star.

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made for a friend, she is mad about cows!

131112

I love the Paper Smooches images, they never fail to bring a smile to people’s faces.  My friend loved the card and giggled at the cow’s nose, she thought it looked like a buckle and actually she’s right.  It’s a perfect nose for her (the cow, not my friend lol!)

The stamps I’ve used here are Paper Smooches Green Acres & Paper Smooches Simply Said.

Copics used...

Blacks: C9, C7, C5, C3
Pinks: R22, R20
Shadow: BG10

It’s good to be back, I need to spend more time playing.

Christmas Paper Bag Book - Lawn Fawn

Hi Everyone, It's Emily here again with another mini book.

This time it is a paper bag album ready for Christmas.  I  have used the Lawn Fawn Fa La La paper pack to decorate it and Lawn Fawn twine on the tags.

Front cover

Inside page and large tag for inside the first pocket

Opposite large page and tags for centre pockets.  The centre double pocket would be great for popping in memorabilia like panto tickets, school concert programme etc as well a tags with photo and jounrnalling.

Next large pocket page and small flap page

last pocket page, inside back cover.

 Rear cover

I have uploaded another shaky video to show the album in better detail (sorry the kids were chatting in the background!)

Directions

What you will need:

4 paper American style lunch bags (I bought some off ebay)
Glue
Cardstock for tags
Chipboard covers (optional)
Coordinating papers, embellishments, twine/ribbon

I have watched lots of YouTube videos of paper bag books and I'm not sure whose version this most resembles but this is how I made mine.
Firstly glue the flaps down on all of the bags using strong glue

Fold the bag as shown below so that you have a long side and a short side (previously the bottom of the bag).  This fold needs to be neat and crisp so best to use a bone folder or similar.

Once all of the bags are folded you can start to assemble the book.  Start by gluing two of the short panels together. I covered the edge of the short panel page in washi tape to make it neater.
Now glue the long side to the long side of another bag.
Repeat.  You will end up with a book with the following pages, 1 long pocket, 1 short flap, 1 long double pocket, 1 short flap, 1 long pocket.

You will end up with the spine like this (yours will be neater as the one in the picture is not glued)
I used a strip of card to cover the spine on mine.

I now stuck on covers, you could make the book more sturdy by using chipboard under the pattered paper.

You can now decorate all the pages and make tags to go in the pockets.  I found the Lawn fawn papers great for this as they are good weight so made the book stronger.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you liked what you saw
