Happy Mother's Day.............

Hi there....

It's Mother's Day here in the UK on the 10th March, so I thought I'd better get organised!!!!!

I have the Tag which I made to show you today, I'll show you the card next time...

I have used 'Zinnia' by one of my favourite stamp companies Flourishes.....They are wonderful, always give a really good impression and always look good.

For my background I have used the flower head stamp and clear embossed, coloured with my ProMarkers. I have then coloured the background with my Distress Inks and 'water splattered'! Love doing these backgrounds as they never look the same no matter how many times you do them.....

The main image is stamped onto white and coloured with ProMarkers and then matted onto black.

The sentiment is off the 'Spring Bouquet' set.

I have just added some punched flowers and a stick on gem.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you next time with the matching card.

Oh and do check out the new look website........HERE  It looks really good.....

Mad Butterfly

Happy Tuesday!

Sorry you didn’t hear from me last week, my hubby hasn’t been very well. He’s had several attacks of gout recently and we ended up at the hospital for an x-ray to see if there was anything else going on. Thankfully he seems to be on the mend now. We still haven’t figured out why he gets it though.

Anyway, on to today’s card for my post over at MTDS – a mad butterfly. I made this for my friend, she’s mad about polka dots and I didn’t want to do traditional colours for her.
IMG_2367[1]_thumb[7]
The butterfly is from the set by Paper Smooches’ Giddy Bugs and the sentiment is from Party Posse.

For this card I dug out some very old patterned paper and paper pieced the butterfly.  I just Copic coloured in his body using BG15, BG11 & BG10, RV63, RV66 & RV69.

The ribbon was VERY naughty, it just would not sit flat and although this card looks simple that bow took FOREVER to get right and I’m still not sure I like it lol.  To finish the card I added some little silver pearls (makes her look like she has bunches!) and a trail.

Hope you have a great week.

A Party Pooch

Hi there, Jenny back again, these Saturdays sure whizz around fast!! :0)

I'm not sure where the inspiration for this card came from but I knew that I wanted to play with
one of the cute dogs from Paper Smooches 'Woofers and Tweeters'....

I found the neutral patterned paper in my scrap bin and took it from there.... this dog looks like
the sort to be aimlessly romping along with a bunch of balloons tied to his collar!!!
I know our dog would be trying to burst them all :0)
I've used Promarkers to colour the mutt and the balloons...love the pop of bright
colour against the neutral papers (pun intended) ...Lol.

Thanks for stopping by

Friend To Friend.........

Hi there.......

Today, running true to form I have a 'Belated' Birthday card to show you..

I have used one of my favourite stamp set from Flourishes...'Gerbera Daisies' available very soon here

I decided on a change to my 'normal' colouring and found my Cosmic Shimmers............I thought I still had the paints, but after searching high and low I can only find my powders....Love the effect though. I just mixed them in my palette with a little water.
Aren't they lush??  I thought I'd stick to quite a clean, simple card, as I didn't want to distract from the image....
I stamped onto Acrylic paper.....It is textured and lovely to work with...

For the background...I should really have taken a photo of the background paper...next time!!! I used another piece of the card and sprayed with the Cosmic Shimmers and then stamped the smaller stamp in the set all over...

A piece of ribbon and a sentiment off another set of Flourishes and I was done.........
I was enjoying myself with my paints so much that I got my long neglected water colours out and coloured another image in all ready to make into another card.............

I hope this has inspired you to get your paints out, I know I have neglected them since using my ProMarkers.

Thanks for looking...I'll catch up with you soon...

Something a Bit Different...........

For me, anyway!!!
Hi there......I am not doing so well getting prepared with my Christmas cards...........I did want to try and make at least one a week for the next few months..and have failed miserably!!

Whilst I was thinking about it I spotted my lovely Avery Elle Bauble stamps, which will be available here very soon...
It's only a small card, but I am pleased with how it has turned out.....We like to send a mixture of cards, so this size is always handy!!

After trying Red ink and then trying clear ink with Red embossing powder I thought I'd try stamping with my trusty Black Versafine ink and clear embossing onto Red card.......

The front is slightly larger than the base card....which is cream behind that red!!! I like the effect this gives....

The fab sentiment is by Paper Smooches...

Thanks for looking, I'll see you again soon.

Making your own washi tape is 'Squ'easy!!!

Hello and happy Saturday everyone... Jenny here :0)

I had better show you my card first this morning and then the title will make
sense to you!! I've used Lawn Fawns small stamp set called Make Lemonade
for a sunny card on this lovely sunny day....

I hope you can forgive the pun but I thought it worked so well for lemonade :0)

Can you see the grey chevron washi tape?... it's homemade and I thought I'd show you
how I did it with a few photos. I love the look of washi and all those coloured rolls available just
blow my mind with choices of patterns and styles!! I found a tutorial on Pinterest for making your own with double sided tape and tissue paper alongside inks and stamps of your choice so
you can customise it to your project.

By using double-sided tape you can make your washi tape as long or as wide as you want.
Simply place the length of tape you require on the shiny side of the tissue paper...you'll
notice that tissue paper has a slight sheen on one side and the other is much
more matt which is easier to stamp on.
Idea: With lots of colours of tissue paper available you don't have to stick with white either!!

Turn the tissue over but do not trim yet, this makes stamping on the tape easier.
I have used Lawn Fawns Chevron Backdrops and Basic Grey Ink from SU, it's a bit of trial and error when it comes to inks but most do dry on the tissue...heating with a heatgun is not advised!!
Tip: Pale inks will appear very light when you have taken the backing off the adhesive and also take
into consideration the strength of the background colour your attaching the washi too.

Continue with the pattern until you are happy with the design and then when the ink is
dry turn the tissue back over to trim. I have used a ruler and sharp craft knife but if you have a
steady hand, scissors work well too as you can use the edge of the tape as a guide to
butt the blade against.... of course you could cut it into thinner strips if you want to as well :0)
I've also shown in the photo that it is easy to tear the tape even with the backing still on the adhesive
to give another authentic washi look :0)

Now I only made a small strip for photography purposes but to save time you can
make longer lengths and store them for future projects too :0)

Sorry for the long post but I hope you're inspired to have a go making your
own washi tape too....another perfect way to use those small stamps, you dont have
to stick with geometric patterns :0)

Lawn Fawn stamps used: Make Lemonade,Chevron Backdrops, Dad's Day,Jessie's ABC's

Thanks for stopping by.

Mini Cards With...............

Rogue Redhead!
Hi there! I have been playing with my lovely new stamps again........

I saw a  challenge to make a 3"x 3" 'Love Note'.......Gosh I never realised how small 3"x 3" is!!! But here are my efforts..........

I have used 'Milliner Misses'....love this little plate :-) Will be available here very soon.... I thought I'd go a little 'Monochrome'........I found the sentiment I wanted to use.....but it was a little too big...so I masked off some if it with masking tape and just stamped and embossed the word. I ran a black ink pad round the edges of the card and embossed. She is coloured with ProMarkers and mounted onto Black card...

My second one might be a little cheat for the challenge......Both cards do measure 3"x 3".......

I wanted to use the little scraps of paper and card on my desk and also the lovely sentiment.....

So I did some layers and then cut a square-ish piece and added a matt and placed it diamond shaped onto the card and cut off the edges....The lovely lady is coloured with ProMarkers and I've just added some Prima flowers with some stick on stones. I quite like the effect of having my Nestie shape above the fold of the card............

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.

Just a Note

Happy Tuesday!  It’s Ruby.  I hope you’re having a fab week so far.   I’ve got a little book to share with you today and a matching peg.

I was given this little spiral bound book a while back and I thought it needed a bit of colour to liven it up so using my Paper Smooches Perky Plants I added a bit of fun to it.

I stamped and coloured in both flower images using the Perky Plants set and I stamped the ‘Just a Note’ from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.  The peg was just covered both sides with paper, I sanded down the edges, softening them off with some distress ink and attached the flower with pop dots.  I LOVE covering pegs, they are so quick to make and yet so pretty.

Copics used…

B91, B93, B95, R08, R05, R02, R20, £81, E84

I hope you like it, I know it will brighten up my office.  Those flower stamps always make me smile!

Happy Prawn

Hello!
I felt like a bit of a change from my normal stuff today,so I reached for Paper Smooches Surf n Turf-I just LOVE that prawn!
I started by cutting the top in an approximation of waves, and inked the edges. I used Tim Holtz embossing powders for the sand,as they are quite sand-like when they set. I glued the sentiment onto a cocktail stick, and popped it in his hands (he looks like he is holding something :-))
I hope you like it!

I Heart Art

Helloooo,..... Jenny here :0

If you love all things arty and using bright colours on your cards or scrapbook pages then
you'll love the new stamp set from Paper Smooches called I Heart Art.

I've made a couple of  CAS cards using this set, come and see...

With a sentiment like that you can go crazy with colour and it's cute that all three sentiments in
the set fit inside the canvas on the easel.....  I just love that chunky paintbrush too :0)
I've used watercolour pencils and Coloursoft pencils to shade these images.

I went with a splash of red for this design and with careful inking and a spot of touching up
with a marker pen I removed the lid of that paint tube. Coloured using Prisma pencils ontop
of chalk ink to give some dimension to the tube and blob of paint :0)

Thanks for your visit today and hope you get some crafting time this weekend :0)

Just to let you know the store is still undergoing maintenance and stock checking
at the moment, we'll be back soon :0)

More Redhead!!!..........

Hi there!
Today I have another card to show you using the fabulous Rogue Redhead stamps.......Emily is doing some site maintenance right now, but the site will be open for business very soon.....here

I used 'Milliner Misses' for my card.....After making the PINK one earlier in the week I had to make an Orangey one to make up for it!!!

Love this set.......Coloured in with ProMarkers....I had to hand-cut the Orange matt..which is why it is ever so wonky.......I have just added ribbon (as usual!) and some punched flowers....and the little centres......I have a border punch and these are the waste circles that I couldn't bear to part with!!!!

I'll see you again very soon.

He'll think I'm mad!

Hi, it's Ruby. My post today is a bit of fun for my man!  He will think I’m totally mad, but often he says that’s why he loves me, for my quirkiness.  Here’s hoping that continues after this…

IMG_2267[1]_thumb[7]
Hopefully it will make him smile too when I present it to him in a glass of something. I think we often take life far too seriously, we need to add in some of that childlike fun back into our lives. Here’s mine, wish me luck. He will either think it’s funny or will get me certified as totally mad! If you don’t hear from me again you’ll know why lol.

I used Lawn Fawn’s Love ‘n’ Breakfast set, it has some adorable little brekkie images.
Love n Breakfast
You can use them for all sorts of things.. I’ve used it to congratulate someone on losing lots of weight, Get Well cards, Valentines and my friend even made us a Wedding card using the toaster, the toast, salt and pepper to build up a little scene.  It was adorable.

Copics:

R20 (cheeks), BG10 (outline), R39, R27, R24 (heart), YG05, YG03, YG01 (cupcake case) and YR30 and YR31 for the cupcake.

Hope you get time to play.

Have fun!

Fabulous flutterings

Hello!
Wow,sunshine already-what a joy!
Whenever the sun is out,it always makes things much more fun to do,so I cleared my crafting desk with much more enthusiasm than normal and sat down and made a good friend of mine a 40th birthday card using the gorgeous W Plus 9 (no,really? W Plus 9 again Lou?!)Layered Butterfly die,Fresh Preserves die and Avery Elle's Count on it stamp set for the sentiment.
Using rainbow cardstock,I used the smaller of the Layered Butterfly layers to make the butterflies in the jar,and built them up bigger and bigger then used all the left over wings to make Le Grande Butterfly! I cut the Fresh Preserves jar from a scrap piece of packaging and inked the edges to make them stand out a bit. I distressed a piece of journaling paper as my base, and rummaged around in my chip board scraps box for some extra accents to add to the edge of the page.
Hope you like it!
Lou

A Bit PINK...............

For Rogue Redhead!!!!

Hi there.....I know you don't normally see me today, but I have been having so much fun with my new stamps that I wanted to share my latest card with you..........

Unusually for me, it's VERY PINK..........but I made it for a very dear friend who loves PINK........

I used 'Nature Notes'  for this card............I never, ever plan anything, so the image was a bit big for the square that I cut......and I only found this out after I'd coloured her! So I cut her to fit......I was really pleased as I'm not known for my cutting skills, but even managed to cut the really thin strand of hair!!! She's coloured with ProMarkers...

I did the background with the small background stamp in the set......I stamped it in pale green and clear embossed. Then I coloured it with Distress Inks.......this gave it a textured look which I really like...I just added my trademark ribbon and tatty flowers...which I rubbed Stickles glitter glue on the top with my fingers....

Thanks for looking..........I'll see you later on in the week for another 'Rogue Redhead' post......

The palm trees have been made using a couple of elements from the
Paper Smooches Bold Blooms set.... I think they are a pretty good shape for them :0)
