Watercoloured florals

Hello there :)

I had planned to share a couple of Paper Smooches cards with you today but then my Mama Elephant goodies arrived and I just had to try out the Freestyle Florals stamp set instead :)

Even though there has been a flood of floral stamps recently, these bring a fresh feel with the sketched outlines and they appealed to me instantly...

This card started out as a one layer card by masking around the edges of a square card base and stamping the flowers inside the masked area. I watercoloured whilst the tape was still in place ( I use Frog Tape because it doesn't allow seepage underneath!!).. the only problem is I forgot it was ordinary card so it warped too much for my liking, hence a quick change to matting and layering :) I used distress inkpads squished onto an acrylic block to add colour.

This next card was inspired by a monochrome challenge and my love of green!!

hhmmmmm.... the jury is still out on this one, I used proper watercolours and definitely need more practice with them!! This is watercolour card which is trimmed and adhered to a card base and the sentiment is is one from Avery Elle's So Happy which is embossed onto a strip of vellum. I love how the vellum softens the edge between the florals and the green card.

Here are the links to the stamp sets I used

Just a quick reminder that it's a sketch challenge over at the Paper Smooches Sparks  this week... I used Sunnyside Up, Cloud dies, Quote Tag dies and We Totally Click for my interpretation.
It would be great to see you play along with us too :)

Enjoy the show part 2

Hello I'm back today with two more cards using the paper smooches stamp set Enjoy the show.
Yesterdays card were bold and bright and went with the obvious theme of the set.
Today i am showing two very different looks.
My first card above uses the circle stamps from the set to create the Bokeh effect.
Which was done by simply stamping the circles in 3 shades, two blues and one white.
I used the Balloon dies with glitter card and some Silver twine..
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment  from Happy birthday in silver.
I finished by adding some teeny tiny rhinestones.

This card uses the elephant from the set for a baby card.
Simply coloured softly using copics and layered with some patterned paper.
I added some dots of liquid pearls randomly on the paper.
The sentiment is from salutations.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing different ways to use this set.

You can share them on our Facebook page.
Thanks for looking.

Welcome Baby Card

Whoo-hoo all I can say is thank crunchie is Friday. My little ones have had colds this week so it will be nice not to have to do school runs for a couple of days..... fingers crossed a pj day is on the cards :) Movies, pjs, hot chocolate and maybe a spot of stamping...... one of my favourite kind of days spent with my minis.

Well anyway it's my day to post over at Make The Day Special, hands down my number one place to get my stamps in the UK. Although the store is still a little way from opening back up it is very nearly there....and I'm so excited to see all the new goodies that Tara is bringing to the store.

Today I've chosen to play with the small elephant set from the Lawn Fawn Valentine's release....

I teamed up one of the cute little elephants from the Lawn Fawn 'Love You Tons' with one of the sentiments from the ever useful Paper Smooches set 'Salutations'.

I stamped in Archival black ink onto water colour card so I could add just a touch of colour using a water brush and some Distress Inks.

Have a great Friday!

Feel Good Sunshine!!!

Morning everyone....apologies for my midday appearance!!
I've managed to make a card that fits the sunny weather today using the Picture inspiration over at Paper Smooches Sparks challenge .....

Aren't those Paper Smooches cloud dies clever how you can use different colours for the inside and edge of the shape!! The large grey cloud is inset which is easily done by placing a thin piece of card behind the raised panel to stick the cloud too.
The lovely golden sun is stamped using a solid circle from the PS set called Hullabaloo and the rays are from Green Thumb, the sentiment is from Salutations.
I think this would cheer any recipient up... nothing like some warm sunshine to help you feel good :0)

I hope you're enjoying some rays today too :0)

Paper Smooches Mini Card set

Hello :0)

With the end of the school year approaching next Weds(!!!) I thought I would perhaps make some mini card sets as teacher gifts. I always leave these kinds of projects to the last minute and the hot weather just hasn't helped the enthusiasum either but here is a six mini card set using Paper Smooches stamps..

The cards are 4" square and I've used Bold Blooms, Leafy Greens and Reflections stamp sets. I had some fun with colour combos on the three unisex patterned designs and loved mixing up stamps to make pretty florals on the remaining three designs.
I tried to choose a selection of useful greetings and kept the cards quite simple and without loads of embellishment.... not everyone appreciates paying higher postage!!

I have every intention to make a lovely folder/wallet to put them in but alas time and the heat beat me this week!! I'll pop back and show you that next Saturday.

I know you're not supposed to pick favourites but this has to be it...

... the SU Wisteria Wonder ink pad inspired this design :0)

Thanks for stopping by

Purple Paper Smooches

Good morning stampers!!!! It's your 'Girl Friday' Lydia from Love Lydia here. Today I'm sharing a card using a few... ok, five Paper Smooches stamp sets.

I went with a grey and purple colour combo and I think it really works.

On the base layer I used the really pretty leaf from the Leafy Greens set stamped in grey. On the sentiment band I used a further four sets - Flap Happy, Salutations, Birthday Sampler and Pretty Phrases.

I'm totally loving how great these butterflies look just quickly coloured with Copics, they are sooooo versatile and can be used for any occasion- a must have for you stampy stash :)

Have a great day all !!!! Hugs, Lyd xxxxx
