Hi there, it's Lydia here with you today! I'm so happy to be back here on the Make The Day Special Stamp Store Blog, and today I'm going to be sharing with you a technique using Altenew 'Watercolour Wonders'. These can be a little hard to layer up so I'm going to share with you how I cheat a little.....
So to create this super loose effect I stamped the larger full images onto my watercolour using 2nd generation stamping, that is where you ink up the stamp, stamp of the image onto some scrap paper and then use the ink that is left on the stamp to stamp your image. I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to stamp this layer and then used a paint brush and water to go over the image that I had just stamped, once it was covered I then added in some Distress Ink in Festive Berries and Seedless Preserve. For the leaves I used the 2nd Generation ink from Peeled Paint Distress Ink. Once this layer was dry I added the second layer image using Red Berries 2nd generation ink, again I went over this with a paint brush and water and dropped in Seedless Preserve.
For the leaves I do the 2nd generation stamping for the full image, cover again with water and a paintbrush and let dry. I then cheated by just adding in my own '2nd layer' with some Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint, I did this very roughly to get the same effect as with the flowers.
To finish I used a sentiment from Altenew 'Magnolias For Her', added some thread underneath it and some clear sequins for a little sparkle.
