Fond Farewell

Hey All, I have a tag for you today using the lovely Paper Smooches Promenade stamp kit available over at the Make The Day Special shop.

I've used the ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens for this make and if you like the shape you can find a link to the template over on my blog.

Well, I have to say a fond farewell, this will be my last post on the Make The Day Special blog as I am stepping down from the team. I've had an absolutely wonderful time with Emily and the girls at MTDS and of course all of you and your lovely comments, thank you all!

You will still spot the occasional thing from MTDS on my blog or in the magazines so keep your eyes peeled and have a lovely Christmas and New Year.

A Little Pink......

Hi there!!
I wasn't sure what to make this week.....so I made a Tag.....It's Pink, for a Pink loving friend....don't really 'do' Pink....but I am quite pleased with how it turned out..
I used the Suzi Blu stamp 'Be The Poet', available only whilst stocks last from the lovely Emily here...so grab her whilst you can!
I made the background using Acrylic Paints and finger painting...great fun!! The Black 'splodges' were added after and then I doodled round the edges... I found some Yellow ribbon, which I think I must have saved off some choccies (nothing gets thrown away in this house!!) and it already had the bow attached....Better than more Pink I thought!!!
Thanks for looking, I'll see you again soon...

Christmas House

Hey All, Kim Dellow here with a Christmas Card, thought I had made my last Christmas card last week but then I had the idea of using stamps from the Paper Smooches Promenade kit, available over at Make The Day Special, with some puff paint to give some snowy touches.

Gives a cute Christmassy feel don't you think?

Have you finished your Christmas cards yet?

Have a good week.

Kraft snowflakes

I've done it again!!! Yep - I've made something to share today using an item that's out of stock in the shop so I apologise in advance!

I've used the My Cute Stamp set - Let it Snow but if you like this manufacturer's stamps why not have a look at the rest in the shop here.

I made two cards using Kraft cardstock and white embossing powder:

Let it snow!

Hi Everyone! Only two (ish) weeks left until Christmas! I'm not usually one for Christmas crafts, but this year the bug has finally caught up with me...

Here's a wall hanging I made using a combination of Make The Day Special stocked stamps:

 Stamps: The Cat's Pyjama's 'Sheepish'
My Cute Stamp's 'Snow Cute'
Paper Smooches 'Alphadot'

I started with some chipboard, painted it with acrylic paint and added some snowflakes with embossing powder. I coloured the image using promarkers and paperpieced the scarf and finally added the sentiment using embossing powder.

Have a great Friday!

Every Day....

is a fresh beginning......
I have a couple of cards to show you today.....the first one uses the Websters Pages 'Moments' stamps available from the lovely Emily here
I thought I would dust off the embossing folders that I seemed to have had for ages and actually use them! I coloured it with Pearlescent Chalks for a soft look.....The sentiment is stamped with one of my Distress Inks and clear embossed. All that was needed then was some ribbon and some punched Butterflies..
My 2nd card uses the 'Moments In Bloom' store kit, again available from Emily..here
I used a smaller embossing folder from the same set and coloured in with Chalks again...then just a bit of ribbon and stick on jewels.

Forgive the photos...I managed to take the a photo of a White card on a White background....One day I will learn...
I really enjoyed making these unusually (for me!!) quick and clean looking cards..hope you like them too.
Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon..

Oh and I meant to say I created both these cards from 1 sheet of A4 White card, quite like the different sizes this makes.

A Stamping We Will Go...

What to do when your mojo has hit rock bottom? Experiment of course! Yep, I am having one of those days again and I need a bit of a creative breather, where I am still working but not having to come up with a finished make.

So I thought I would try out some different stamping textures by stamping with the ZIG Art and Graphic Twin Pens, available from Make The Day Special, on different papers in my stash.

The stamp I'm using is the Merry and Bright Unity Itty Bitty stamps also available from Make The Day Special.

Well that's it from Kim Labs for today.

Hope you are having a good creative Tuesday.

Insightful Meadows!

Hello there....

Late again, I'm afraid.....I haven't got used to working Monday's yet!
This week I have used one of my all time favourite kits by Unity, Insightful Meadows. Available from the lovely Emily here
I have used my Distress Stains to stamp with. These give a beautiful water colour effect. Unusually for me I have also used a coloured card blank.....The hardest bit was choosing the background...In the end I have used a Red Velvet paper and tied  some ribbon round and added a bow.. I think this has made a simple card quite elegant....
Thanks for looking, I'll see you soon....maybe with something inky and painty.......

Christmas Wrapping!

Hello there! A bit late I'm afraid....a combination of working and DH being away for the weekend!!
That time is almost upon us again so I thought I'd show you some really very quick and easy little gift tags for all your pressies :-).....I love making Tags, but I thought these were just so quick and easy for your wrapping of pressents!!
I started with one of my normal size Tags and ran it through my 'bug using an embossing folder and one of the Tim Holtz words. I coloured the embossing folder with some Blue Distress ink to colour the Tag. The image is one of the Unity Itty Bitty stamps available from the lovely Emily here I just added some snowflakes and glitter glue...
Next came the 'mistake'......I inked the wrong side of the embossing folder and also stamped a bit off....so it's de-bossed and little, but I didn't want to throw it away!!
Or how about some shaped Ornaments to use for your tags??
Using a Tim Holtz die and cutting it out of a piece of the packaging you would normally throw away...also put through the embossing folder...
Or emboss the shape before stamping.......

I hope these have given you a few ideas for your Christmas wrapping....

I'll be back soon, thanks for looking....I'll be earlier next time!!

Trim, Prima flowers and centres
beaded embellishment, Crafty Notions Rainbow Drops

Kids Play....

Hi there...long time no see!! Hopefully I will be able to post more often now....
Yesterday I was having a play with the FAB Flourishes stamp set 'Kids Play' available from the lovely Emily here
I decided that I wanted something fairly quick and simple...sort of ease myself back in gradually......and also use  my favourite Monochrome colours...Black and White...I hope you like it..

I used one of my Nestie shapes to stamp on. She is stamped and clear embossed. For the matt I used one of my 'Bug embossing folders..'Bubbles' I think and embossed the edges with White embossing powder. The sentiment and long stamp were just clear embossed....Told you it was quick and easy!!!

Hopefully see you again very soon......I have heard little whispers that we are nearly on our 500th post and Emily might just have something special in mind.....

A journal page

I have another journal page to show today which uses stamps from Unity's store kit - All About the Journey which is available in the shop here.

I stamped the arrows on to the page and used coloured pencils to highlight parts of them. The large quote stamp was stamped on to a bought die-cut. I stamped the destination quote on to paper and then cut out each word individually before sticking to the page. I then used another of the quote stamps and cut out the word "journey" which I then stapled to the page as a tab.

Materials used:
Pentel oil pastels, Unity stamps (as above), black Versafine ink, Derwent Inktense pencils, white drawing ink
digital art doll (from Etsy),
K & Co die-cut

Thanks for visiting!
