Through the Annals...

Hey! I'm just switching around with Julia so apologies if you've come to the blog expecting her. She's back next Saturday with something awesome!
I thought I'd just post some cards done with older sets...not such very old stamps, but easily forgotten with the excitement of the 'new'

Year Four is a tiny set that packs a real punch! These little hippos are perfect for colouring with markers and I've added in the fab sentiment dies from WPlus9

Speaking of WPlus9- remember this set?
And on the inside? ....

Keeping the Lawn Fawn sets in mind, how about a simple gift bag for a birthday boy?
Do excuse the slightly dodgy colouring-I've improved a little since I created these!- told you I was going through the annals!

Hope you've enjoyed a little peer through some of the older sets-
do have a rummage around some of the sets from a year or two ago. They need love too! ;-)

See you next week!

Pac-Man Pie!

Hi! Hope you're all ok today? Today I've gone back to the 80's.
80's gaming in fact. That time when Pac-Man was totally cool and I remember trying to master the game before the monsters got me.
This card came about as I was looking at this set Humble Pie from Avery Elle

See the pie/PacMan?
I needed some fruit and so immediately thought of the Milk and Cookies set from WPlus9

Simple, a little cool and perfect for that bloke or even a teen into gaming.
It made me smile making it...altho you don't want to see my first attempt! ;-0

See you next week..

Throwback Thursday

Hello!
Brrrrrr! It's getting colder-although we haven't seen the snow our American cousins seem to be having ❄️
Today's card may be considered a little bad taste (pardon the pun) but I got the idea from a pin on Pinterest I saw the other day and thought it would make a funny card 😉

Yes,I know I know,but it's kinda funny!
So,easy peasy to make-Wplus9 Milk and Cookies stamp and die, making a tiny slit for the straw. The scarf is simply the cookies die! How cool is that?! (Yup-more puns! Sorry!) The nose is just a tiny scrap of orange card and the eyes and mouth are the teeny tiny die off cuts. Talk about recycle! (And they say us crafters hoard-ha! Zero waste, more like it 😉 )

I hope you liked today's card and it made you giggle.
In other news, this is my penultimate post. My daughter has been gravely ill for some time, and is not responding well to her medication so I need to step back from the DT and spend all my time looking after her,but I will be popping back from time to time. It's been a sad desicion but family comes first. Tara has an awesome replacement lined up,so you will meet her very soon!

Have a great Thursday!

Milk And Cookies For Santa

Instead of sharing a card with you today I thought I would mix it up a little and share with you what we will be tying around Santa's glass of milk (or Baily's ;) ) this year.

This tag is a beautiful mix of Lawn Fawn and Wplus9- two of my main stamping addictions at the moment.

Firstly I die cut Lawn Fawn's Stitched Journaling Card and inked the edges using Antique Linen Disstress Ink. I then used my favourite background stamp 'Woodgrain Backdrop' (sorry currently out of stock) to the bottom of the tag to act as a table and inked this using a blending tool and Tea Dye Disstress Ink. The sky is Tumbled Glass Disstress Ink ..... and although you can't see them very clearly from the photo there are some snowflakes in the sky from Yeti Set Go set.

For the main image of milk and cookies I used the Wplus9 set bearing that name (Milk And Cookies and dies).

For the finishing touch I added 'For Santa' using Sally's ABC's and some twine so I can attach it to the big man's drink ;) .

I hope you like this little idea and maybe give it a go yourself!

Mystery Christmas Set!

Morning, morning! I was hunting through my sets and decided to do a Christmas card but using an utterly non seasonal set. Guessed which set?
http://www.makethedayspecial.co.uk/shop.php#!/~/product/category=3351881&id=24370300
Milk and Cookies! So which other sets did you use, I hear you ask? None! As soon as I looked carefully at the set., I saw the straw and immediately thought candy canes! Due to the perfect flexible nature of the photopolymer, these babies can be curled & altered. I really took the straw to the max- it only just stayed in that position. Once I curled and stamped to the left, I curled the other way & stamped again.
I trimmed out most of the middle of the milk bottle & around the edge, so we could see the canes showing through.
The wreath? How did I make that? See the closeup...
I used these two elements-

The little circle is the centre of the wreath. The single line (which is normally used as the meniscus)
I simply curved around a little on my block and put one end on the circle & just systematically moved it around.
Just shows how with a little sneaky thinking you can create something completely unintended from the set.
Go and twist your sets! See what you can come up and PLEASE post a link - we would seriously love to see how you do it too!

Until next Tuesday!

love Keren xx

Summer Strawberries!

There should be a firework themed card today- in the UK we have Bonfire night. Alas, it's so wet and miserable, I thought I'd mix it up and think of warmer times. Strawberries are one of my favourites- and it's easy to miss them on this set
They're not quite ripe- see the yellow- I was trying to shoehorn the sentiment into the images. The idea that the strawberries need something else to be good-not quite bang on- but you can see my logic!!
It's making me think of cream teas, and scones & sitting out looking over the water…
Before I drag you into my daydream- go and check out some of the other sets in Make the Day Special- right now we've a new Christmas section. Lou has cleverly put together a perfect selection of products for handcrafting your Christmas. It's a shame she can't do the same for all my Christmas shopping ;-)

See you next Tuesday!

Happy stamping!

Milk and Cookies

So sorry I'm a bit late with my post today...I completely forgot it was Friday! Huge Gasp... now how on earth did I forget about that.

On to my card for today ..... and yes it is another Wplus9 but I promise to use another company next week... shake things up a little..lol.

The card I'm sharing is really super simple but work well for both a male or female.... which is great in my book....

I am so in love with this set. And the sentiment is awesome , you could even mix this up with different sets and substitute the cookies for bees and the milk for flowers- you could really have fun doing this !

Off for some cookies and milk now, have a sweet day !!

Strawberries and Milkshake

Good morning stampers, are we all ready for the weekend? It's Lydia here with you today and I am totally ready not to make Will's sandwiches for two days .... yay :)

So I have created a card to share with you today that uses the super cute stamp set from Wplus9, 'Milk and Cookies' and the matching die set.

I just love this set, it is sooooo super sweet and can be used for either a masculine or feminine card. there are so many choices and themes that this set can cater for and .... I really need to play with this set more!

Well thats it from me - see you same time, same place next week!!
