Fun in the Waves

Well this seems like the perfect card to post for this Bank Holiday weekend when many of us will be grabbing a chance to visit the coast if the weather plays ball!!
It's been a hectic week of activities so I'm cheating a bit today by sharing this card I made for the Ready Set Stamp feature in the July edition of Craft Stamper magazine...

I've used stamps from Lawn Fawns Swimsuit Season, colouring them with Promarkers and blending three colours of distress ink for the sea...... I love how curving the sentiment on the acrylic block means it fits just right into the cluster of images too :0)

I've just had a look at the forecast and it seems I may have jinxed the weather already !!.. oh well I hope it will remind you instead of the lovely summer we've had so far :0)

Fishy Fun!!

Hi there, looks like we are going to have another weekend of hot, dry weather so my subconscious took me in the direction of water for todays card!!
I've used the chalkboard from A Good Apple and turned it 180° to make an aquarium for some fishy fun.....

To create the water I stamped the board/tank onto a post-it note, then using a craft knife I cut out the middle section with a splash and ripple along the top for the water line. Place the mask over the stamped image on the white card and then I used distress inks blended together with a flick of water afterwards to make watery bubbles. I handcut a couple or water splashes from a post-it note too so I could use them the same way :0)

To give a realistic glass sheen to my aquarium I cut the frame from grey card and stuck a piece of stamp packaging behind it before adhereing to the card... not so bulky as acetate. The fish are from Critters under the Sea and the sentiment is from another watery set called Swimsuit Season which are both out of stock at this time.

We all Scream for Ice Cream!!!

Happy Saturday everyone :0)

To try and tempt back out usual warm summer weather I've made three ice creams for my card using Lawn Fawn Stamps....
but there isn't a Lawn Fawn ice cream I hear you say!!!
I've made one up by paper piecing a couple of images, come and see....

For the cone I used the hat from the cute gnome in 'Gnome sweet Gnome' and the dollop of ice cream is the top of the pie from My Silly Valentine. I went with a Neapolitan colour scheme and I love how the tone on tone stamping gave a softer feel to the card....yummy :0)
The sentiment is from SwimSuit Season which I've stamped onto a home-made tag.

I hope you're enjoying watching the Olympics, I must say it's quite a distraction from the housework although I suppose I could do the ironing whilst still watching the TV!!! :0(......My ironing pile is getting to Olympic heights!!!
