Getting My Smooch On

Sorry I'm so late blogging today - we've been house-hunting today.

I had a friend come to the house to do a little job yesterday but I knew they wouldn't let me pay them so I wanted to give them a gift and it had to be golf balls!   So I got out one of my favourite Paper Smooch sets - My Guy to make an appropriate gift tag.

I love this set, it has so many useful "guy" elements.  For this tag I used the golf cart, stamping it on the tag, but also on white card so I could cut it out and layer it up without trying to cut around the fiddly thin lines ;-)  I added some paper cut with Mama Elephants Landscape Trio die and finished with a sentiment from the same stamp set.   Then a little string was all that was needed to "wrap" the gift - keeping it very masculine.

Whilst I had my Paper Smooches out, I used another set to enter this week's Less is More Challenge to create a one layer card with leaves.   This time I went for Leafy Greens but chose to just use the large maple leaf and went autumnal with  pumpkin pie and raspberry jam inks from Hero Arts.

I just stamped each leaf on top of each other in the brown shade and then over-stamped with the red.  I added a big bold sentiment from Mama Elephant's Splendid set once dry and dotted around some glitter and pearl dots to finish.

News from the Store:

  • Wplus9's latest release is currently in customs clearance and should be in Store in a few days.
  • We have a VERY big order in with Lawn Fawn and are currently just working out with them the best way to get it to the UK.  They aren't releasing for another couple of weeks yet but it should be here late August/early September.
  • Mama Elephant have started sneak peeks today so we will be placing orders for their latest release this week.
  • We will have new paper pads, including the latest Christmas designs coming in the next couple of weeks along with restocks on some ink pads.

That's all this week folks - catch you next weekend!

Christmas duo

 Hello.
Another two Christmas cards from me today. :)
The first using CAS_ual Friday's.

I used the new Funky round tag fri-die and Naughty or nice stamp set.
I die cut the bauble using the large tag on glitter card and used the funky shape...which i think can pass for a snowflake to cut out the centre.
The smaller circle was used to go on the back....after i stamped and heat embossed the same shape from Exclamations which is currently out of stock.
I used  blue ribbon and then matching ink to stamp the shapes under the sentiment.

This card uses Paper smooches.
The leafy greens set is just perfect for creating holly.
The paper panels are Echo park dots and stripes Christmas.
I have followed the sketch from Paper smooches sparks challenge.
Thanks for looking.

An Autumn Palette

Well hello there :0)

I've stepped back from Christmas to Autumn this week with a colourful card made with Paper Smooches Leafy Greens set. This is my DT card for this weeks challenge at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog which is a photo inspiration of autumnal leaves.

Those seasonal colours gave me the excuse to play with my Distress inks and the solid leaves really allow you to get creative with your inking too.... as you can see there's some double stamping gone on alongside some rockin n' rollin too.

The water droplets are dots of glossy accents which really add some natural texture along with some ink splatters and veins made with the thin stem from the Calico stamp set. I finished off with a simple sentiment from Many Thanks which has some great phrases as well as a mix of fabulous fonts (available in the next Paper Smooches pre-order)

Those colours make me happy.... I'm definitely not ready for autumn to change to winter yet although with the clocks going yesterday, we're slipping that way.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to hop over to the Sparks blog and check out the new challenge details :0)

Paper Smooches Mini Card set

Hello :0)

With the end of the school year approaching next Weds(!!!) I thought I would perhaps make some mini card sets as teacher gifts. I always leave these kinds of projects to the last minute and the hot weather just hasn't helped the enthusiasum either but here is a six mini card set using Paper Smooches stamps..

The cards are 4" square and I've used Bold Blooms, Leafy Greens and Reflections stamp sets. I had some fun with colour combos on the three unisex patterned designs and loved mixing up stamps to make pretty florals on the remaining three designs.
I tried to choose a selection of useful greetings and kept the cards quite simple and without loads of embellishment.... not everyone appreciates paying higher postage!!

I have every intention to make a lovely folder/wallet to put them in but alas time and the heat beat me this week!! I'll pop back and show you that next Saturday.

I know you're not supposed to pick favourites but this has to be it...

... the SU Wisteria Wonder ink pad inspired this design :0)

A Floral Thank You

I can't believe that its my baby boys last day in nursery... it only seems like yesterday that i was crying that my baby was starting nursery and now he will be going full time in September. It's true what they say - times stops for no man.

So today it's my day to post over at Make The Day Special and I'm going to share a CAS thank you card......

If you have been looking at the Paper Smooches set 'Leafy Greens' thinking 'I love those leaves but I wish there were some flowers'.... well if you use the three leaf stamp and stamp it twice, making sure the second stamping is inbetween the spokes of the first you can make the cute little flowers on this card.

After stamping the flower cluster and stamped a sentiment block from the Avery Elle set 'Framed Fonts' and finished the card with a couple of scattered liquid pearls.

Have a great weekend!

Purple Paper Smooches

Good morning stampers!!!! It's your 'Girl Friday' Lydia from Love Lydia here. Today I'm sharing a card using a few... ok, five Paper Smooches stamp sets.

I went with a grey and purple colour combo and I think it really works.

On the base layer I used the really pretty leaf from the Leafy Greens set stamped in grey. On the sentiment band I used a further four sets - Flap Happy, Salutations, Birthday Sampler and Pretty Phrases.

I'm totally loving how great these butterflies look just quickly coloured with Copics, they are sooooo versatile and can be used for any occasion- a must have for you stampy stash :)

Have a great day all !!!! Hugs, Lyd xxxxx
