Exploring A Hot Spot (part 2)

Good morning :0)
Okay, first I have to apologise for the title of these posts... it's a bit suspect
verging on the cheeky but hey it got your attention though didn't it!! :0)

So, I'm back again, as promised, with a couple more cards to share with you using the
Paper Smooches Hot Spots Large Base Die and first up is a New Home card that
uses the die as a Polaroid style frame....

The retro photograph is still a very popular trend, well it is in my stash *wink*....and there are
many dies on the market but by using the Hot Spots die to make your own you can have
rounded corners both inside and out!!

Here's how I did it...

The smaller of the two dies cuts a rounded rectangle that is an exact fit for the space in the
large die so it can be used to extend the size of the hole in the base die... as shown in the photo :0)

Did you see the grey faux washi tape?? To make it I used the row of dots from the Alphadot set and inked the back of the stamp with Memento London Fog then used it the right way round to stamp the dots on top in Flannel Grey and by stamping across a torn piece of copy paper you get the faux ripped edge too :0)

My next card uses the large base die as is and cut from Patterned Paper,
makes the focal panel for my card...

The window is perfect for framing a scene using Paper Smooches characters, even cheeky monkeys like this little fella who's hanging around!! The ladybird was an afterthought!!....you'll have to pretend he's either in a zoo or it's an exotic little bug :0)

Well I hope I've given you some inspiration for using this die and if you missed part 1 it's here
Stamp sets used: Vogue Abode, Zoo Crew, Love Monkey, Simply Said

Thanks for visiting and hope you have some crafting time this weekend :0)

Time to Come Out of Your Shell!

Hi there.  It’s Ruby. My daughter had to do some little thank you cards for her friends and with time being limited I went into a little mass production with variation on colour.

201112

I added a touch of colour with my copics and coloured the little (originally white) flower to match.

I used the little turtle from Paper Smooches 'Party Posse’ and the sentiment is from one of my favourite sentiment sets, Paper Smooches 'Simply Said', it’s got so many lovely sentiments, plus it just looks ‘happy’ somehow lol.  See….!!!

Simply Said
So I hope you like my little cards, I’ve taken a pic of one on it’s own too so you can see the detail a bit better.  These were super simple to make, which is great when your daughter remembers they need to be made the night before she needs to hand them out!!  Have a great day!

A Buckle Nosed Cow?!

Hiya, sorry I didn’t get to post last week.  The lovely Emily stepped in for me, thank you Emily, you’re a star.

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made for a friend, she is mad about cows!

I love the Paper Smooches images, they never fail to bring a smile to people’s faces.  My friend loved the card and giggled at the cow’s nose, she thought it looked like a buckle and actually she’s right.  It’s a perfect nose for her (the cow, not my friend lol!)

The stamps I’ve used here are Paper Smooches Green Acres & Paper Smooches Simply Said.

Copics used...

Blacks: C9, C7, C5, C3
Pinks: R22, R20
Shadow: BG10

It’s good to be back, I need to spend more time playing.

Graphically Inspired

Good Morning on this rather damp Saturday, what better weather is there to stay at home and craft  :0)

Today I thought I'd show you how patterns and designs on the high street can inspire you in the craft room... I'm sure you've come across the eye-catching fabrics and household items bearing the gorgeous patterns of  Orla Kiely.... well she was the inspiration for my card

I've used the Spunky Nature stamp set from My Cute Stamp because the designs are all bold and whimsical in style, great for this sort of pattern :0)
I have stamped out the leaves on the cream panel and then stamped the flowers out twice in burgundy and spice so I could cut them out and assemble them to look like they have been selectively inked.
The sentiment is from 'Simply Said' by Paper Smooches, I thought the fun whimsy font suited the card perfectly.

I hope this inspires you to try some designer based stamping, what better reason for a bit of window shopping..... although I'd wait for the sunny weather first though :0)

Hope you have a great weekend
