New Pad!

Hi! It's a lovely day here today - bright and sunny!   I've been playing with some new goodies from the store!   The inspiration for this card is the gorgeous die set from Lil'inker designs - Frames and Flowers.  This the most amazing set - containing so many options!   And the flowers and leaves are just that little bit different!

The frog is such fun to colour (yes, my love affair with Paper Smooches is never ending!) - he's from the A Little Lovin set.
The alphabet is Lawn Fawn "Quinns ABCs".

Hope you like it!  Have a lovely weekend!

G'day To Be Happy

Hi it's Lydia here today with my usual Friday spot. I hope you all have a great weekend planned and that the weather bucks up it's ideas a bit.

Today I have a card to share that has a 'Stepped Back Die-Cut Frame' to frame the main image on my card.

* Take a piece of paper from Lawn Fawn 'Let's Polka' and cut slightly smaller than your base card.
* Stamp the monkey and balloons from Mama Elephant 'Up and Away' (sorry this is currently OOS but..... not for much longer) and colour using Copics. then fussy cut out.
* Cut out some clouds using Lawn Fawn 'Spring Showers' die .
*Create a stepped back die-cut frame using circle stackers dies.
*Stamp sentiment from 'Up & Away' on to a cloud and arrange on card.

A different angle.....

Thank you so much for popping by! If you would link to watch the video on how I created this card please call by my blog Love Lydia Brooke to take a peek.

Throwback Thursday

Hello!

(made using Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die and Mama Elephant Sketchy Letters)

Are there any Project Lifers out there? Are you a die hard PL addict? Have you thought about it but haven't embarked on it yet? Did you know that everything you need to create gorgeous, embellished  3x4's and 6x4's is RIGHT HERE IN THE STORE?? No? Well let me show you :-)
First off, Lawn Fawn have two die sets that allow you to create perfect PL cards. For the smaller 3x4 cards and photos this is your new best friend. The Stitched Journaling Card. Look at that cute super trendy stitching!

And for those bigger 6x4 cards? Yup,Lawn Fawn have that covered too, with this bad boy. The Large Stitched Journaling Card

Those extras are invaluable for embellishing! Im just popping one of these into my shopping cart right now ;-)

The store carries a gorgeous range of Lawn Fawn papers, right here, so you can cut some gorgeously different cards.

Ok,so you have cut your cards, now what?

STAMPS!!! Make those cards PERSONAL! There is hardly a set in the store that wont compliment your project lay out! Go look! Mama Elephant in particular have some great PL stamps as do Unity (But hurry-Unity is now a discontinued brand at the store,so once they are gone, they are gone!

See you next week!

Critters from the past

Hello.
Keeping with Lawn fawn again Ive inked up my Critters from the past set.
The sentiment is from Sophie's sentiments.
I stamped the images in black archival ink and coloured with distress markers and water.
I kept it very  simple and added some shimmer to the sky with glimmer mists.

Something Wonderful!

Hello! How are you all? Thought I'd squeeze another project out of what is probably my favourite stamp set at the moment..'Wanderlust' by Mama Elephant.
The tiny map stamp is gorgeous for a background image & I've simply punched out lots of little holes where the circles are on the stamped image & backed them with coloured cardstock giving a rainbow coloured effect. I'm on a bit of a rainbow kick right now so the black and white main part of the card is the perfect base for colour.
I die-cut circles out of the panel & added a few extra bits- such as the sentiment & an angled matt. Another big go-to supply right now is acetate, so I used that for the card base to make more of an unusual card.

Hope your day has something wonderful in it ( mine will involve baking, crafting & a kids party !)

See you next Tuesday,

Challenge 2 Winners

Well we had some amazing entries for our second challenge - you all rocked the colours we gave you and you made it very hard to pick our winners.

However, we all voted over the weekend and the creator of our favourite card and winner of the £15 store credit is Amie with this super masculine card which was a great way to twist the floral colours from the first colour options.

Our runner up this month was one of the many entries from Julia - we all really loved the shading on this one though - it really made the detail pop.

Our second runner up is Yming from Cedar of Lebanon - who could resist her super cute baby dinosaur card?

Here's your winners badge for your blog if you would like to show off your win!

Thanks so much for joining in with our challenge - we hope you had fun even if your project wasn't selected for our top 3 or for the prize.  We'll be back on 1st June with a new challenge so you get a chance to try again very soon ;-)

A Small Gang and some fun news :0)

Good Morning, hopefully you have sunshine for this Bank Hol.... at the moment its quite grey and damp here :0(
Well my fun news, in case you haven't seen, is that I'm back on the Paper Smooches Sparks Design Team starting next weekend so, of course, I had to have some fun with my Paper Smooches stamps for todays post ....

I've said it before but, I love that every time Paper Smooches has a new release it opens up new ideas for using old and newer sets together.  These two little hamsters from Party Posse have got this "teamwork" thing sorted so they can enjoy a nice cool drink from Free Spirits.... the sentiment from Mamma Elephant's Good Times was the perfect choice although you could esily use this scene as an 'encouragement' or a 'thanks for your help' card :0) .....hmmmm.....I hope the little fella below gets to have a slurp of that lemonade too!!!

Party Posse   Free Spirits   Good Times

It would be great to see some of our UK customers playing along in the Sparks challenge, check out the sketch this week and give your PS stamps and dies a whirl !!
Back next week and thanks for stopping by :0)

Big News!

So I've been teasing you all for a while about the next new brand that was coming to store and today is finally the day I can reveal who it is as we have our first selection of their stamps and dies in store ready and waiting for you.   I know this is is going to excite you as so many of you have constantly been asking for this brand and were so disappointed when I told you that this brand did not do wholesale.   Well, it took A LOT of persuasion on my part, but I am now very happy to say that Laura has finally agreed to give me a go and we are now SUPER PROUD to be the sole UK stockist of:

I told you it was BIG news!   We don't have EVERYTHING just yet - but we do have a good selection of their latest releases in both stamps and dies plus a few older sets that really caught my eye.  If there is something you would like that isn't in store - send me a message through the contacts form on the store and I will add it to my next order - however please note that the SQUARE, RECTANGLE and ROUND STITCHED MAT STACKS are NOT available for WHOLESALE.  Sorry - I know that will disappoint you but there is plenty of other lovely stuff to play with.  Here's a little inspiration from my first play....

I used the gorgeous Frames and Flowers Die to make 2 cards - you get 3 frames from the one die with the signature stitching we all love Lil Inker's for :-D   This is a super set as you also get some flower and leaf dies so I die cut some leaves from patterned paper and one of the flowers from felt and used those to decorate the frame.  I used a little washi for decoration and then used one of the great sentiments from Shiny Happy Sentiments to finish it off - simple but effective.

You can go masculine with the centre of the frame - I used another sentiment from Shiny Happy Sentiments and embossed it in silver.  I then used another set of dies - the really lovely Stitched Stars but I decided to go for the negative space as you get the lovely stitching around that too so it makes an AMAZING background.  I arranged them on my silver mirri matt and die cut them a couple of times until I filled the whole matt and then simply popped the sentiment panel on top.

The problems with the store are all over now - so the new Lil Inkers section is open as well as Lawn Fawn Pre-Orders which I have extended until 6pm today to make up for the issues over the weekend.

Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend and Happy Crafting.

Tara

Hello Sunshine

Hi everyone!

Another Saturday - don't the weeks just fly by!   I'm in a Lawn Fawn mood today!  I love this set - Hello Sunshine. It's so cheery!  I also love the Scripty Hello Lawn Cuts die which is a perfect font match to the "hello sunshine" greeting in the set.  I've kept this card simple - one cute little bee!

This die gives such a lovely clean cut - I'm very impressed!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Hi - Tara hijacking the end of this post to update you on the situation in store.  There is still an ongoing issue with the technical back-end of the store.  Unfortuately as my technical people are based it the USA, there is an issue with the time delay.  I have just had a "we're still working on it" update email but I still don't know how long it will take until it is fixed.  Keep an eye on Facebook for further updates and I'll let you know on my post tomorrow if it's resolved too.   Thanks for your patience.  Tara x

Have A Magical Day

Yay it's Friday!!! Hope you have a great Bank Holiday Weekend planned , although it's looking like the weather isn't planning on being very sunny :-/. So it's my day today and I'm sharing with you a pretty bright card that will hopefully make you smile.

To make this......
* Cut a number (I have cut 10) of the larger borders from Lawn Fawns 'Stitched Scalloped Border Die' and add a little colour to the scalloped edge using Distress Inks ( I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean).
* Glue these borders together and attach to your card layer.
*Stamp the castle and unicorn from Lawn Fawn 'Critters Ever After' on to watercolour card using Archival ink. Colour using the same colour Distress Inks as before and a little water. Then fussy cut out.
* Cut a number of clouds out of vellum using Lawn Fawn 'Spring Showers Die' out of vellum and add these to the top of the scalloped borders. Then add the castle and unicorn to the scene.
* Add the sentiment using Milo's ABCs.

I totally love the freshness of these bright colours and lots of white. And what could be better than using vellum for clouds?!?!?

Thanks for stopping by!

Throwback Thursday

Hello!
Happy Throwback Thursday-are you LOVING all the scrummy new Lawn Fawn arrivals? Me too!
So,today I used a slightly older Lawn Fawn set-the awesomely cute Puffy Star Stackables. Swoon! I have used this set so much-it truly is a versatile and adaptable set of dies to have.

A veeeeeery simple card-and pretty self explanatory! Just remember to leave the very tip of the star die hanging out when cutting it for a folding card. The sentiment is embossed onto vellum and is from Paper Smooches Spectrum

I hope you like it and enjoy shopping at the store!

3D Tweeting!

Hi! Thought I'd do a little 3D card. I'm using the Newton's Nook set 'Tweet Talk'
It's hard to see that the top bird is actually coming out from the card. The way I've bent it means that it could still be folded up and popped into an envelope; it's kind of a step shape or straighter 'z'. The other birds and sentiment are simply attached to thin strips of acetate, adhered to the frame shape & then the frame is added to the card using 3D foam pads.
The background paper is the Hello Sunshine 'Lawn Fawn' paper pad which should be back in stock in soon. In the meanwhile, check out the rest of the Newton's Nook designs here
Hope you've enjoyed something a little different! I'm flying off to do some more crafting..hard life!!

See you next Tuesday!
