Elegant Christmas Card for Easy Mass Production

Howdy, crafters! Are you getting a slight panic attack when you hear the christmas jingles playing in the stores? I do, not because my cards, but because of presents. No clue what to give my family … we never give expensive stuff or electronics, but I am trying to figure out what book my dad might enjoy and which massage treatment my mom didn't have yet :)

Apart from that, I'm getting into the christmas spirit and today I have an easy card for you which you could easily mass produce! Yes, I said the magic phrase: mass produce! Let's take a look, shall we?

I started out by die cutting a piece of sturdy white card stock so it would have a stitched frame. You can totally skip this, but I like the little extra that gives my cards. Then I die cut one of the stag from the Wplus9 die set directly from this card front – you can save that piece for other projects.

Thanks to the glitter by Elizabeth Craft Designs I can make my own glitter paper in any color I like. I covered the same type of paper that I had used for my front panel with a piece of double sided adhesive, poured glitter onto it, and voila - glitter paper! Once you rub the glitter, it doesn't come off, so you can die cut through it without any problems. It's important to use the same paper for this as for your front panel because we are doing inlay die-cutting and you need the same thickness of paper.

You could of course just mount the deer on top of the panel, but have you ever seen people get a card that they know is handmade and then try to figure out "how you did that"? It's hilarious, and inlay-die cutting is something that looks awesome, and will certainly be admired by the recipient (yes, I am vain like that).

The sentiment was stamped with brown pigment ink and I used my Letterpress as a stamp positioner again. Sometimes, I don't get a good first impression with my pigment inks and I don't want to line up a complex sentiment stamp like this by hand. As you can see here, my first attempt wasn't perfect, but thanks to the Letterpress I was able to stamp in the exact same position again. Awesome!

To add some color to the card, I added a ribbon (not my best bow, sorry) and some sequins and gems. I wanted to keep this card simple and elegant, and I love the unusual color combo for the season.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Thanks for stopping by today!

A White (& Gold) Christmas

Hi there and Happy Thrusday! Lydia here with you today and I'm dreaming of a white ... and gold... Christmas. I know it's too early the mention the 'C' word but I'm so into making 'C' cards at the minute.

I know that there has been oodles of lovely new 'C' sets coming out but today I wanted to give some of my older sets some inky love, and so my card is filled with a lot of oldy but goody Wplus9 sets.

For the strip down the left hand edge I stamped one of the pretty borders from Wplus9 'Fair Isle Backgrounds' onto a pice of white card using gold ink. I still have more of this to use on other cards too. Once I had added a strip to the side of the card I added some thin double sided tape to the side of it and added some 'Gold Foil'(sorry OOS but there is a gold leopard print that could be so much fun) on top.

I added some gold foil to some card, and then cut out the stags head from Wplus9 'Stag Trio Dies' out of it. To layer this up I used circles cut from Wplus9 'Circle Stackers' one from white card and the layer from some vellum.

For the sentiment I used the banner and words from Wplus9 'Heartfelt Holidays' and cut it out using the matching die, and layered this on top of the stag head.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs Lydia xxx

Dear Friend

So we're all done with the slushy cards for another year, but whilst thinking of all those people who don't have a special someone to share Feb 14th with each year, my mind turned to making a card to show a friend you love them to.  So here's my slightly punny take on a "dear" friend card.

I took the fabulous Label Love stamp set from Altenew and selected a few appropriate sentiments from it.  Next I required a rainbow's worth of inkpads - here I used a mixture of Avery Elle and Mama Elephant pigment inks and then just went about building my rainbow brick wall of sentiments!  The deer head is from the stag trio die set from Wplus9, which is oos today, but as the new release and restocks have FINALLY cleared customs it should be in stock late Monday or Tuesday at the latest.   The friend word is a die from Paper Smooches.  A little black makes the rainbow sing even louder.

That's all from me today as we're off to our very first trade show at the NEC in Birmingham to see what exciting new products we can find for you ;-)  Keep an eye on our instagram feed to see what goodies we find and leave us a comment below if there is something you really want us to look out for.

White And Gold

Hello and happy Friday! Hope you had a good week (but if not the weekend is nearly upon us ... yay!) !

November already! Can you believe how fast this year is going? Christmas will be upon us in no time, so I would like to share an idea for a classic card that would be good to give to men and women alike.

I have used two of the Wplus9 Christmas sets- Heartfelt Holidays  and Woodland Wreaths (sorry OSS but a lot of the other wreath images in the store would look gorgeous behind this die-cut)- and a die set - Stag Trio Die.

I heat embossed the more sparse wreath from Woodland Wreaths in white and then embossed the berries on top. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Holidays and I have heat embossed this in gold. I have cut the large stag from gold metal but you could you gold mirror board for a similar effect.

The card layer is the smaller stitched frame from Mama Elephant Basics Set, this is such a great set of basic die cuts and I am forever reaching for this die for my card layer! To finish I have added some Gold Twine from Lawn Fawn to pull the card together.

Hope you liked todays card!

Have a great weekend!

Create a Quick and Easy Set of Cards

Have you started on your Christmas cards yet? The holidays might seem far away, but if your life is like mine, December gets pretty hectic and making cards becomes a chore between work, family and preparations for Christmas.

For that reason I'm showing you four slightly different card designs today. All of them are perfect to mass produce, either to send out yourself or to give away as a gift.

There's a video over at my blog showing you all the detailed steps, but all you really need is a mask, some white pigment ink, and silver or gold embossing powder. Since pigment ink needs some time to dry, you could sponge all the front panels first, then set them aside to dry while you either cut mats for the panel or decorate the card bases. As a greeting, I went for Mama Elephant's Merry Greetings, but really, any greeting would work here.

If you want to go all CAS and not have any more work, you could stop after putting the cards together, but I decided to use some gems and some sequins for added interest and bling. I mean, it's the holidays! When are we ever going to get away with a lot of bling again (until next year)?

I hope you enjoyed the video and the idea. Let me know which design you like best. I have to admit that the blue and black are probably my favorites :)
