Throwback and chalky Thursday

Hi all :-)

Ready for another Throwback Thursday?
Today I am testing out the new Avery Elle pigment ink in Pure White to see how it fairs in the chalkboard test :-D
First up,I wanted to make a background using the gorgeous Unity Itty Bitty Born an Original, which is a great alternative to some of the pricier rose sets around. Its a great size, like all the Itty Bitty's,and makes a great background stamp.

I love how this turned out and can't wait to get a layout on it for the scrapbook. As a grunge fan,I wanted it to be a bit 'grubby',so in with some smudging.

The ink is beautifully juicy and vivid-I'm hooked!

I didnt stop there,oh no. I made an Easter card with the not-so-throwback Avery Elle Happy Spring. I love this set sooo much (swoon, sigh, swoon)

So,there is the white. It is super juicy, super vivid and just plain super :-)

Owl Always..Love you!

I know, it sounds like a bad version of that Whitney Houston song (just giving away that I was an 80's girl!).
These two buddies are very cute and from this Itty Bitty set
There's tons you could do with them- I just did a bit of rock'n'roll stamping (gently rocking the edges of a previously inked image onto a darker ink, which is how you get the darker edges to the owls).
They were begging for a 'scene' so I tucked the grass behind the folded banner & slipped them behind there.
I sponged the clouds using a cut out template & then used the template as the cloud as it had a nice amount of ink already on it!

Hope you 'owl' have a lovely Tuesday (sorry, that was bad, wasn't it!),

Sketchy Unity and Quiet Essence

Good morning y'all! This is a card using two sets of lovely Unity stamps. The first set is a gentle lovely one called 'Quiet Essence' and I've added the Itty Bitty set 'Tell Me More'.
The fab news is that they're both in stock and just pootle over to the store and get yours!

 Quiet Essence looks like this:

It's gorgeous isn't it. You can get it from the Unity section.

The Tell Me More stamp is one of the bargain priced Itty Bitty single stamps and looks like this
I've made this card in response to the Unity Challenge blog. It's a great idea to join in with these as they're great for kick starting those 'minus the mojo moments'. If you want to join in, you kinda need the stamps- but then, you knew that already!
Treat yourself to a set and join in- who knows- you might even win ;-)

See you soon,

Happiness is having wings!

Just when you thought it was safe- I've popped in this Thursday. I've created the base for this card using this stamp..
Sadly the little butterflies which were part of another Itty Bitty are OOS- but you could get the same look with this little set.
With both sets at only £4.20 each-they're really rather a steal. I've done some hole pricking and sewing as you can see here & just stamped the butterfly several times in different colours & chopped up part of a sentiment.
The paper is from a Lawn Fawn set & you get the chevron styled bakers twine with some of the Lawn Fawn twine here
Well I suppose I'd better fly off- you do need wings sometimes- hoping you each have a set today. See you next... I might say Tuesday, but then we do like to keep you guessing!!

Find The Joy............

Hi there.........

She here.........I really need to start getting organised for Christmas, as the original plan of making a few cards each month has, sadly fallen by the wayside!!!

So today I'd like to show you a little card made with a Unity 'Itty Bitty' ..........'Find The Joy'

This little card is about 5" square.......This stamp is really good.............it has even survived me cutting it into 3!!!

I stamped and embossed 3 images and coloured them with my Sakura pens. and then layered the images. I used some very shiny Silver card (which I have had for ages!!) and white card matts edged with a Martha Stewart punch.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon...

Feel the joy

Feel the joy is the name if the stamp i used for my card today.
Its an Itty Bitty from unity.
I love any stamp with these style of flowers.
Normally i would use them as a silhouette but today i wanted a different look.
I started by colouring the card using distress inks.
Then i coloured the stamp using zig pens before stamping onto the coloured panel.
Once the images were stamped i used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the flowers and stems.
The sentiment is from a Unity store kit called The right words.
Thanks for looking.

She always knew

Hello.
Trying something a little different for me today.
I used this lovely little lady with the big dreams from Unity and Clever handmade.

She Always Knew

The image is stamped and heat embossed and coloured with copics.
I knew i wanted some flowers on this card but after sorting through all of my stash i couldn't find anything that looked right.
So made one from the denim tissue paper that Louise wraps the orders in.
I used  a small scalloped nestie..lots of times and just layered it all up. Lots of scrunching was involved and its finish with a  button and twine.
Thanks for looking.

More Itty Bitty Christmas...........

Morning....
I have been playing with Alcohol Inks for this weeks makes...

After seeing the lovely cards that Jo made here I thought I'd get my neglected inks out and had a play....though I just used them to dip card into....Jo's technique is on my 'To Do' list...I've never tried it, so do watch this space!!

I have been using the Unity 'Itty Bitties' again this week....though a different stamp...This time I have used 'A Beautiful Sight'

Again I have made a Card and Tag...

I chose 3 or 4 colours of Alcohol Ink and swooshed them onto my craft sheet and added some blending solution and dipped Gloss card into it...I then stamped and clear embossed the image...

I used some more Black Co-Ordinations card for the background again!

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon....

Itty Bitty Christmas!

Morning.....

I thought I'd share a couple of makes with one of the lovely 'Itty Bitties' that Emily sells....

For these makes I have used  'A Child is Born' Love this little stamp set....

I have made a matching Card and Tag...
I stamped and embossed the image and just coloured the centre lightly with one of my ProMarkers.. I then used some Distress Inks to create the 'splattered' background...a bit more embossing and the image was done....
Here they are in detail........................

I used some Black Co-Ordinations card and embossed it and sanded it to reveal the core colour....I have had this card so long....I am glad I have actually managed to use it!

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon for some more 'Itty Bitty' Christmas makes!

A Trio Of Cards!

Morning!...I think my post titles are getting worse......

Today, as promised last time are some Christmas cards! At first I was going to use a couple of different stamps, but I thought it might be good to see the same stamp used on 3 different cards...

Here they are...
I have used one of the gorgeous Itty  Bitties by Unity...'Peace and Joy'....Love this stamp. Now I'm not known for my simple, clean cards...in fact I find these the hardest to do...But once I sorted some card and some lovely backing paper I really enjoyed making these...Think my cards are going to be clean and simple this year!

For these two all I've done is stamp and clear emboss onto white card and a lovely Gold card then just made matts and added the embellishments.
For this one I've paper pieced the tree..
I hope these give you a couple of ideas on how to get a bit more mileage out of your stamps.

Thanks for looking I'll see you soon.

Materials used:
scrap cardstock, Dylusions inks
Unity stamp (as above), black Versafine ink, white Versacolor ink, white embossing powder
white Signo pen
beaded embellishment, paper rose.

Christmas Wrapping!

Hello there! A bit late I'm afraid....a combination of working and DH being away for the weekend!!
That time is almost upon us again so I thought I'd show you some really very quick and easy little gift tags for all your pressies :-).....I love making Tags, but I thought these were just so quick and easy for your wrapping of pressents!!
I started with one of my normal size Tags and ran it through my 'bug using an embossing folder and one of the Tim Holtz words. I coloured the embossing folder with some Blue Distress ink to colour the Tag. The image is one of the Unity Itty Bitty stamps available from the lovely Emily here I just added some snowflakes and glitter glue...
Next came the 'mistake'......I inked the wrong side of the embossing folder and also stamped a bit off....so it's de-bossed and little, but I didn't want to throw it away!!
Or how about some shaped Ornaments to use for your tags??
Using a Tim Holtz die and cutting it out of a piece of the packaging you would normally throw away...also put through the embossing folder...
Or emboss the shape before stamping.......

I hope these have given you a few ideas for your Christmas wrapping....

I'll be back soon, thanks for looking....I'll be earlier next time!!

Itty Bitty Silhouette Song Bird

Hi All, Kim here, thought I would play with some alcohol inkiness for today's Make The Day Special DT project.

The stamp is the Unity Itty Bitty Silhouette song bird. I love the Itty Bittys, they are such a good price and as they are foam mounted rubber they are so very versatile too.

Have a fabulously creative Tuesday.

Your Ticket To Glitter

I've been making more Christmas notelet cards with the Itty Bitty ticket to jingle stamp from Unity available form Make The Day Special.

This time I've broken out the glitter.

I've used ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens, from Kuretake which are also available from Make The Day Special, to stamp with and added a border of glitter with the ZIG 2 Way Glue pen on the ticket.

Right, I've got to go and clean up all the glitter!

Have a glittery day.
