Love and Laughter

I have a mini card to share with you today made using stamps from the Adventures in Happiness Unity Stamp set available from Make the day special. The set is very versatile and includes so many lovely stamps. I particularly love these little flowers. They are so simple but can be embellished in so many different ways.

For my card, I used some spotty backing paper from American crafts. I stamped using Stampin Up inks and coloured the image with Promarkers. I then cut the image out with a labels nestabilities shape. I measured where my ribbon would go and then stamped the sentiment with green ink.
I wrapped some ribbon around the card and added a bow topped with a heart button, I then added buttons to the centre of the flowers. I stuck this panel on to my card base, I then finished the card with a couple of Prima flowers with a button centre.
I hope you have a lovely Friday and a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend.

Adventures in Happiness...

I had a play last weekend with my stamps from the Adventures in Happiness Unity set available from Make the day special.
The sentiment stamps that are part of the set are so lovely and make a great card on their own without the need to combine them with an image.

I love this sentiment and it's serene theme reminded me of these papers from Cosmo Cricket. I love papers with Clouds and these are no exception, I love the vintagey aged feel to them. I stamped the sentiment straight on to the backing paper and cut it out with my Nestabilities and matted it on to some coordinating paper. I matted the cloud paper on to the same paper and sewed around the edges. I punched some holes and set some eyelets and threaded the sentiment tag with organza ribbon which I wrapped around the card front before affixing to the card blank.
I added a butterfly made from a punched layer and a butterfly embellishment from Mei flowers and some pearls as a finishing touch.
I hope you have a lovely Friday.

Pssst.....!

I've been sharing some of my designs in my role as new DT member over at {ippity} Inspiration but want to formally introduce myself over here at Make the Day Special too. I'm really excited to have joined Emily's DT and am having lots of fun experimenting with new stamps.

My first project was to use a new range of stamps (to me) from cute and quirky QKR Stampede. I had lots of fun trying my hand at paper piecing which I think works so well with this stamp:

This stamp is called 'Secrets' and is available at the Make the Day Special shop.
(Promarkers used : Blush, Dusky Pink, Cinnamon and Cocoa)

Materials:

Stamps: QKR Stampede

Ink: Memento black

Colouring: Promarkers, white Signo pen

Paper/Card: Bazzill cardstock, DCWV paper

Extras: KI Memories ribbon, white MM rub-on alphabet, Letraset dry-transfer lettering, Stickles.

Sweet

Hello, here is my first post as part of the fab DT at make the day special. Ive used the bird, birdhouse and sentiment from the Unity spring 2010 collection, Adventures in happiness. Ive kept this card simple as i think the stamps speak for themselves.
Ive layered co-ordinating coloured card and masked the bird so that the lines from the birdhouse do not cover it. And then added a ribbon.
I lined the inside of the card and added an extra bird. Papers used are from MME bloom and grow collection.
Thats it from me thanks for looking and dont forget to check back to see whats next from the talented ladies tomorrow.

First DT card - Mini Bath time Fhiona

I am very excited to be sharing my first DT card with you today using the cutest 'Your Next Stamp' mini stamp of Fhiona relaxing in the bath.

This adorable mini stamp is available from Make the Day Special and is perfect to decorate mini cards with. As soon as I saw the stamp, I instantly thought of my new Basic Grey Wisteria pad as the colours are so serene and the patterns are so feminine, they make a lovely little card.

To make the card, I cut a mini card shape using the Nestabilities large scallop squares and covered it with the backing paper around which I had wrapped some lovely crisp ivory grosgrain ribbon. I added a simple bow to the left and embellished it with some pearls.

I stamped my image onto Coordinations white card as I love working on textured card. I coloured the image with Promarkers and added some glossy accents to the bathtub. I cut the image out with my Nesties, layered on to blue card and used the same technique for my sentiment.
The finishing touch was some little cream flowers with pearls added to the centres.
I hope you have a lovely Friday.

Friends With Flair Blog Hop

Hi everyone

I have been playing with the February Store kit again! Well I love it so why not? I just think the stamps in this particular kit are so versatile.

First up is a set of three cards. A neutral colour scheme and simple layout, I am going through a bit of a phase of this type of card.

And second we have the fab table stamp and sentiment. I think this is such a great image, a bit different but so useful.

Free Postage and DT Call

Hi all

As its a bank holiday and we are all full of chocolate I am offering free p&p on all UK orders today, what better excuse to get some new stamps, lol.

Make the Day Special is looking to add to its small DT. Kim is doing a great job and is not going anywhere (I hope) but with all the new stamps I think we need another set of inky mits to help showcase them all. I am looking for someone who is an active blogger and member of online craft communities but previous DT experience is not needed. Would be looking for a minimum of 3 month commitment but am happy to work out details when an individual has been found. email me if you are interested at emily(at)makethedayspecial.co.uk with some links to your work :)

I hope everyone is having a good Easter break, thanks for popping in

Unity Adventures In Happiness Store Kit

Hi all, hope you are having a good Bank holiday Friday. I've been playing with the March Unity Store kit - Adventures In Happiness that you can get over at Make The Day Special.

I've coloured the yummy cupcakes with pencils and used the texture of the paper to give then a lovely mottled look.

Whilst I am here I thought I would tempt you all with a picture of the actual rubber rather than the usual image picture I show you!

This is a huge kit! The whole thing is 8.5 x 11 inches (21 x 27cm) and to give you an idea the Light House stamp on the top right measures approximately 3.25 x 1.25 inches (8 x 3.5 cm). The kit comes ready backed with an sponge mount and precut so that all you have to do is pop the stamps out and use them with an acrylic block. Ready to go!

Have a lovely day.
Kim
