Hogs and Kisses

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I've got some cute piggy kisses for you...

Using the new awesome 'Hogs and Kisses' set from Avery Elle.

I, literally, fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it.  You get a pig, a cow, and a sheep, all holding hearts, with a choice of sentiments to pop in the middle of them - oh, and also two sweet little chickens.  Now I get that sounds a little weird, but they are just adorable - so if you haven't checked them out yet - you definately should!  In my world, weird is good!

So I started by stamping out my little piggy, twice, as I knew I wanted to build the heart up a layer, and coloured using Copics.  I then took a panel of card and die-cut it into sections using Lawn Fawn's Grassy Border, and the cloud from Mama Elephant's Landscape Trio, to build-up a little background scene.  I coloured the grass and the sky, again, using Copics.  I cut Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese die, and, using foam adhesive for dimension, added it around my little scene.

My background is the Sketched Chevron Background stamp from My Favourite Things, and is stamped outo white card using Hero Arts Soft Pool Shadow Ink.

I added a little banner of vellum which I had stamped the 'XO' from the Hogs and Kisses set onto, and added a couple of pink enamel hearts.  I added a twirl of Lawn Fawn's Pink Lemonade Twine behind my Polaroid scene, before adhering everthing in place, matting onto black card, and then onto a white card blank.

I really hope you like it, as always, everything is linked below.

See you next week.

Partial Christmas Wreath

Hi there this is Lydia with you today.

I'm sharing with you a card using some of the new sets from Winnie & Walter.

I firstly stamped the beautiful sentiment from 'Merry & Bright' and heat embossed in gold. I then draw a circle around this in light pencil so I could create the partial wreath.

For the wreath I used 'Hollie's Festive Florals' ,I used a number of Hero Arts Shadow inks and I'm just loving this colour combo! Also loving that these flowers don't just have to be for Christmas... my kind of stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs Lydia x

Some Christmas Florals

Hi there and happy Thursday! This is Lydia here with you today and I have been playing with the new 'Christmas Florals' set from Avery Elle.

I am loving the quirky feel and beautiful hand-lettered fonts in this set, and also how easy and quick it can be to make up a card. If you switched up the colours a bit I'm sure these flowers could work all year round.

I have stamped my images using a few Hero Arts Shadow Inks, Red Royal, Pale Tomato, Tide Pool, Mint Julep and Field Greens, and then added in a little detail with some coloured pencils.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs, Lydia xx

Fresh Florals

DSC03834

I definitely have that Friday feeling today… although truth be told I had it yesterday as well, with the kids off school I kinda lost track of days.

Today I have a card to share using the Wplus9 ‘Pretty Peonies’…. I am so glad that the re-stocks of these have arrived at Make The Day Special so I can share lots more ideas using these gorgeous stamps.

DSC03831

I have used Hero Arts for all of my floral stamping, Soft Cantaloupe and Fresh Peach for the large flowers, Green Hills for the leaves and stems and a mix of Butter Bar and Mint Julep for the additional buds and berries. Once I had stamped all of my florals I thought that it was missing something so I took a tiny circle stamp and filled in the gaps within the floral arrangement with the same colours I had already used, a stamped these out past the images but more spaced so it looked like they were fading.

The gorgeous sentiment is from Avery Elle ‘Fabulous Florals’ I just love the font of this, I stamped in black and then stamped over the top with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to make the sentiment pop.

I would really love to know what you think of my card!

Hope you have a beautiful day and I hope to see you again soon!

Handwriten ( sort of) Hello

Hi there! Did you know that today is National Handwriting Day? ...well you do now ;)

Although I haven't used my own handwriting on my card today I have used the 'Hand Lettered Hello' from Wplus9.....

Firstly I stamped and heat embossed the medium 'hello' from Wplus9 'Hand Lettered Hello' in black. I then used Wplus9 'More Fresh Cuts' and stamped two floral clusters using Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Neon Pink, Soft Yellow, Lemon Yellow and Charcoal (double stamped).)

Once all the flowers were stamped I added the rest of the sentiment from the same set as the 'hello', a few clear sequins and some washi tape to the side to pull the colours together.

Have a great day!

Hello Darling

DSC03739

Hello there and a very happy Friday to you!

I hope you are all well and looking forward to a great weekend.

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made with a new stamp set that I really couldn't wait to play with.

I am so loving the sentiments in this set, Avery Elle 'Fabulous Florals', and I adore the mix of whimsy flowers!

Firstly I stamped the sentiment in black and then clear embossed this with clear powder so it will resist the other ink that I stamp on top. I then stamped the flowers and leaves using a mix of Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Fresh Peach, Soft Cantaloupe, Mint Julep, Tide Pool, Butterbar and Green Hills) and some accents dots with Delicata Gold.

I cut this piece on an angel and attached to the front of a black polka dot card blank.

I hope you have a beautiful day and I will see you again soon.
