Florals in pencil.

Hello.
I have two  cards to share today using flower stamps from Avery Elle.
I saw this pencil technique a few places and gave it a try and i love that its a different look to copics or watercolours.

I used the large bloom flower from Petals and stems for this card.
To start i stamped it in pixie ink and let dry.
I then used coloursoft pencils to colour over the ink.

I used the same technique with this flower from blossoms and blooms.
This time stamping in silver fox ink so that is shows on the coloured card.

Water Blooms

Hi there.... something a little different from me today, I've gone rather floral :0)

As I'm sure you read in Tara's blog post yesterday, the DT this week are using a beautiful colour palette from design seeds to inspire our creative juices and it must be because the garden is bursting into life, because my immediate thoughts were floral!!

I've used the Water Blooms stamp set from Mama Elephant, stamping the single flowers and leaves through an oval mask with pigment inks. To make darker centres on the round flowers I applied darker ink to the stamp using a dauber and over-stamped the original paler image. The leaves were a bit dinky for this treatment so I used pencils to add extra detail. The sentiment is from Oh Happy Day by Avery Elle which I stamped twice in black ink to make sure it stood out on the floral pattern :0)

Remember to pop back each day and see how the colours inspired each of us and you can play along too, Tara has placed a linky tool on her blog post here so you can share your colour inspired projects with everyone as well :0)

Thanks for stopping by and see you next week :0)

All about Avery

Hello!
Its Lou here with a quick (well,it was a trifle fiddly) CAS card.
When I saw these Avery Elle dies,so many ideas popped into my head-this was my first one. I wanted to make a tiny bunch of roses wrapped in 'newspaper' (a piece of book page) and tied with twine. I used tweezers to grip and roll these micro blooms and get them into the cute shape I wanted, gluing them into place as I went and finally tying a piece of twine around the cone. And yes,I couldn't resist inking them a bit ;-)

A close up...

There are SO many different uses for the Embellish It Flower die-it is awesome!
The stripes are from Avery Elle Knotty and the sentiment is from Avery Elle Oh Happy Day (OOS at the moment, but will be back in very soon). It's a veritable Avery Elle-a-thon!

Oh Shoot

Happy Friday to all of you stampy-inky-paper-holics out there (and yes I do class myself as one of this awesome breed ;) hehe)

So it's Lydia here with you today here at Make The Day Special today and I can say truthfully that this is my most favourite place to get my stamps from.... I don't know anywhere in the UK that sells Avery Elle, Unity and my most favourite Wplus9!.... and Lou the owner is just the sweetest DT leader I know :)

Today I'm sharing with you a very CAS card......

As you can see I'm still obsessed with gold..... last month hated it ...this month I just can't get enough out the gorgeousness lushishness ..yum!

I have used two of the fab sets from Avery Elle... Oh Happy Day (sorry out of skock) and Petals and Stems . The flowers on this set would also work well on a scrapbook page as they are such a great size.....if it's still in stock in two weeks I'll do a layout to show how great they look as embellishments.

I really hope you all have a great weekend and see you next week with a card using the next pre-order at Make The Day Special...intrigued????

Hugs, Lydia xxxx
