Go With Your Heart

Hope you all had a good long weekend, did lots of fun relaxing and art making. I have my make for this week for Make The Day Special and I went with a grungy, shabby chic tag using the Unity Itty Bitty and Authentique Co-branded stamp Go With Your Heart.

I've used lots of distressing, some stitching and a bit of embossing for this one.

Have you checked out some of the new stamps in the shop? Here are some of them:

Which are your favourites?

Have a great week.

Thank You!

Morning! I hope you are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend...

I have a 'Thank You' card to show you today...it has been my Birthday Weekend, so I have a few 'Thank You's' to make.....
I have had such a busy weekend that I needed a really quick and simple card....
I have used the fantastic new Paper Smooches 'Pretty Phrases' set which is a brand new line that Emily is selling and available here
I wanted a classic look, so I thought I would go for a Black and White combo!
The Phrase is stamped and clear embossed onto a White die cut and then 3D onto a Black one...All I needed to do was add a bit of ribbon and some gems...
Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy the rest of the holiday and the sun comes out!!
I'll see you soon.

Nearly, But Not Quite, Autumn

It's nearly autumn. I can feel it in the air and I am so excited. Every year I eagerly anticipate the return of thick tights, scarfs and woolly jumpers. And, of course, the return of slightly colder weather and the odd rain storm that make me feel justified in staying indoors to craft and drink copious amounts of tea!

I busted out one of my autumn stamp sets earlier today, just to start playing around with some ideas that I've had in my head for a little while.

Happy Fall

I used just one of my stamp sets from Make The Day Special (Unity's Harvest Of Memories)to create the card, because it comes with so many different little leaf stamps and the perfect sentiments. To make sure that I could easily stamp the leaves in a circle, I actually cut apart one of the longer stamps to make each leaf an individual stamp. Shock! Cutting my stamps.

The resulting card isn't quite what I was expecting. It's one of those projects I think is 'nearly, but not quite' but I'll definitely going to be trying this again with some different colours, techniques and probably a bit more layering. It's good to experiment, right?

*** By the way, if you've not visited Make The Day Special for a little while, be sure to take a peek at Emily's new stock - there's new Zig Pens from Kuretake, Papersmooches Stamps from Kim Hughes and there's some fantastic reductions in the August Sale. ***

Itty Bitty Christmas!

Good morning to you all....
Emily has some fantastic new stamps and I was very lucky to have been sent some....check for all the new stock here as well as some fantastic bargains here and here
I thought that now would be a good a time as any to make a start on Christmas.......and this stamp is lovely....
I decided, unusually for me....to make them clean and simple...well that was the plan! I just won't show you the back of the cards after me putting them on my very inky craft mat.....
Here they are all together...
I used one of my 'bug embossing folders and some lovely sticky ribbon which already had the shiny stones on....
Here it is closed.......

I stamped straight onto the card for this one...

A nesties shape and my own hand cut matt....
They were all coloured with Sakura pens..
Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good day and enjoy the SUN!!
I'll see you soon...

Go With Your Heart

Hve you visited the shop recently? There are some fabulous new stamps in stock including Unity Co-branded Itty Bitty stamps including this gorgeous one for a new scrapping company Authentique. Have a look in the shop here for the Itty Bitty stamps.

I don't have any Authentique papers so decided to make a card using some of the fabulous new My Mind's Eye papers which I've fallen in love with.

I stamped the sentiment image on to a piece of patterned paper cut using a Nestabilities die and mounted it on another die-cut. The bird was stamped on to the same patterned paper before being cut out and adhered to the card.

Materials used:
Papermania cardstock, My Mind's Eye papers
Unity stamps (as above), black Versafine ink, Spellbinder's Nestabilities die-cuts
Prima flowers and flower centres
CraftWork rhinestone border, Dovecraft brad
cotton lace, antique button

A Genuine Genius

Today's teeny tiny card is a little congratulations card with a bit of a difference - I wanted something simple but sweet to tell someone special that I'm proud of them. (You know who you are! Clever clogs!)

Genuine Genius
I just love this cute label stamp from Unity's Garden Variety set - which is part of Make The Day Special's Amazing August Sale. The label can be stamped with or without the 'Genuine' sentiment, but I left it in and then squeezed in some extra alphas from Lawn Fawn's Jessie's ABCs.

Using a little alpha set and this cute little label, there's plenty of ways you can create your own simple sentiments. So, check out the sale and start making your own genius creations.

Stamping layout

Hello.

One of my biggest problems with stamping is that i cant stamp on my scrapbook pages successfully.

I think that has changed now.

I made this layout for a challenge and the base was butterflies.

Not having any paper that matched i made my own.
Ive used unity and ippity stamps.

I used the butterfly from the "Key to joy" store kit.

Stamped randomly in the same colour as the card.

Then used stamps from Ippity set "the best" and "here and now"

Oh before i go have you seen the new ranges at Make the day special?

Now stocking Simply Betty stamps.

And Paper smooches available to pre order.

Also if your looking for a bargain check out the August sale.

Thanks for looking.

Cruising Through Life

Hello folks, how are you all doing this week?

I thought I would try something a little different for my Make The Day Special make this week and stamp out and colour the Lawn Fawn Cruising Through Life bicycle stamp directly onto some
designer paper.

If you look very closely you can see that the Basic Grey paper I've used has little bicycles on it - I thought that was perfect for the stamp!

I really like the sentiment that comes with this kit.

Have a fun and creative week.

With Sympathy and Love....

Hi there!
Today I have one of my large Tags to show you.....
I have used a Big 'N' Juicy pad to brayer the background. I then used some sprays through a little piece of stitching plastic to create the little square texture. I have used the Unity store kit 'With Sympathy' available as always from Emily here. I have also used the background stamp from another Unity store kit.... 'A Mother's Love' again available from Emily here  I have used it at the top of the tag and then sprayed over. The little flowers are just cut from another Tag, where I have inked the background stamp all over and clear embossed it and coloured with my Distress Inks and then sprayed a gold spray over the top.
Thanks for looking, I will, hopefully be back soon.

Subtle Shades

Just popping by with a quick make for the weekend. This little note card uses one of the longer, background stamps from Beautiful Botanicals, along with one of the sentiment stamps from Sophie's Sentiments.

DSC_0391

Using an ink in a similar tone to my cardstock, I simple stamped back and forth to create a subtle background pattern on my base. Then added my sentiment and a handmade ruffled ribbon flower. Done in minutes!

Unity atc's

Hello.

Today i have 6 atcs to share.

I used the Unity store kit...

Bold insight.

When i started making these the plan was to use them as a reference.

So that i have an easy way to see what stamps i have.

But now I'm thinking i may use them on cards or layouts.

I have kept them all very simple in design but tried a couple of different techniques.

I used lots of distress inks, to stamp colour and paint with.

Also some glossy accents, crackle accents, stickles and bakers twine

This and all the Unity store kits can be found here.
Thanks for looking.

Bee a friend!!

My card today uses a stamp each from the Unity sets One Precious Life and The Right Words available here.

I stamped the sentiment on to patterned paper and then trimmed it before mounting on black card. I chose to make it a different shape rather than the usual square or rectangle. The bee was also stamped on to patterned paper before cutting out and sticking to the card.

Materials used:
Papermania cardstock, My Mind's Eye papers
Unity stamps (as above), black Versafine ink
Doodlebug ribbon, CraftWork brad
cotton lace.

Before I leave, you may want to check out the shop where there is an August Sale going on!!!

Be Unique

I've been playing around with my inks, mists and colour markers recently - getting a feel for colour combinations and 'practising' for larger projects. So today I'm sharing a little tag that I made using some of the leftovers from a project using my mist inks. Little cards and tags really are a great way to use up all of those scraps you have lying around!

DSC_0400

The base of the card was already misted in autumnal colours, so I wanted to create something 'earthy'. I used the corner stamp from Lawn Fawn's Blissful Botanicals and coloured it using Promarkers, then added a suitably nature inspired sentiment from Unity's Naturally You.

Quick, simple and, yet, extremely satisfying!
