Hello.

Ive finally got round to inking up the Bon voyage set from Lawn fawn.

This card was very simple to make but was fun too.

Ive just coloured the outline of there clouds with a blue pro marker.

The Kindness Of Zinnias

A bunch of flowers for you all today and this is my DT make for Make The Day Special. The flowers are from the Flourishes range of beautiful stamps these ones are the Zinnia Kit.

I've fallen in love with colouring with greys, you can get all sorts of effects with greys, they are so useful. I used a bit of watercolouring with the ZIG Art and Graphic Twin Pens to colour
this make.

The pop of yellow really jumps at you doesn't it?

The lovely sentiment is also from the Flourishes Zinnia kit.

Hope you have a day touched with kindness.

Create Beauty

I bought myself an A5 sketchbook the other day having seen some of the fabulous art journalling around and wanting to have a go at some of the techniques.
I've decided to just use my book as a "play book" and just fill the pages with whatever I feel like at the time LOL!
This first page I made using a mix of watercolour crayons, watercolour pencils, stamping and pens.

The "Create Beauty" stamp from Unity's Just Be You set was stamped using Stazon on watercolour paper and then coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils. I also used the "make something" stamp from Unity's Better Somewhere Today set stamped straight on the page along with the birds from Unity's Brave Girl set.

It may not be perfect but I had fun LOL!!

Materials used:
watercolour pad
Reeves watercolour crayons, Derwent Inktense pencils, Glimmer Mists,
Unity stamps (as above)
black Versafine ink, black Stazon ink, Versamagic ink
sequin waste
black and white gel pens.

Type it.....

Ah. The weekend is here. Bliss.

I've been playing around with my new Paper Smooches 'Alphadot' set some more and seeing which of my existing stamp sets it works with. I think Lawn Fawn's 'Just My Type' is a perfect match. Between the two sets you could pretty much come up with a sentiment for any occasion:

I coloured the typewriter image with promarkers, stamped the sentiment, embossed, cut out and attached to the card.

 Have a great weekend,

Clinging To Memories Of Summer

Hello! Hello! I have no idea what kind of weather you're all experiencing at the moment, but I've been surrounded by grey, miserable rainclouds for the last few days - and I must apologise because they're seriously affecting my ability to take a good photograph of my crafty makes!

You're My World

I've been clinging to my memories of summer for as long as possible by using Admit One from Lawn Fawn's Summer Release. Though if you're hankering for some autumnal projects, may I suggest that you take a peek at the rather delicious Autumn Release now available?

You're My World

My sentiment is created using the super cute ticket stamp (which is set to be an all time favourite) and I've also used two of the sentiment stamps that came with the set. It's fairly easy to mask of individual words with a couple of Post-It-Notes and you end up with a whole new sentiment!

Here's a picture of the set, so you can see the original sentiments -

To add a little bit of 'pop' to the card, I've also added the larger of the two pinwheel stamps that come with the set, colouring it with Pro-Markers to co-ordinate with the spray ink on my card base.

Et voila!

Look Back In {Ippity} - Last Chance Sale

How about a 'Look Back Tuesday' post?

The reason why I thought I would do a little skip and hop down memory lane is that there is an

going on over at the {Ippity} Inspiration Blog and I know this is the Make The Day Special blog but I thought that stamp connoisseurs like yourselves would want to know about this last chance to get gorgeous stamps sale! Emily is one of the only distributor of {Ippity} in the UK and she is moving on and will not be stocking this range any more.

So I thought I would show some makes where I've included some {Ippity} stamps just to remind you of the awesomeness of these stamps LOL!

So get a cuppa and a biccy and enjoy!

First up is this card from August 2010 using the {Ippity} What Matters Most Kit

Ooo then what about these mushrooms from one of the first stamp sets I got from Emily? They are from the {Ippity} Because Of You kit and I used them on an Alice In Wonderland Altered page in April 2010.

Then we have the fabulous bird on the fence stamp from the {Ippity} Totally Happy kit used on this card from September 2010.

I always did love the stamps from the {Ippity} Moon Beams and Heart Strings Kit, you can see the stars in this make from March 2010.

Then there was this card from March 2011 which uses the wonderful {Ippity} Gurnsey Gingham stamp as a back drop to the Unity Suzi Blu You Are Loved (not {Ippity} I'm afraid but still a must have!
This {Ippity} Gurnsey Gingham stamp is now £2.75 I mean come on! Think of the creative possibilities! I'm a bit of a Gingham junky!

Then there were the cute Fishys from {Ippity} Fishy Philosophy used here in March 2010.

The next to show is another April 2010 make and used the {Ippity} Simply Home kit with the {Ippity} Moon Beams and Heart Strings kit.

Ok one last one, I've got a bit carried away but just thought I would show how versatile these stamps can be with this Christmas make from 2010 using the {Ippity} Totally Happy kit which was a Summer release but I've given it a Winter spin with some embossing powder and turned the bird into a Robin.

Don't forget to check out the stamps yourself and get them whilst you still can, all of the releases are listed by release date in the sidebar on the {Ippity} Inspiration blog.

Catch you next week

Key To Joy!

Morning...
I have a Tag to show you today.
I made it with the Store Kit 'Key To Joy' available from Emily here
I made my 'usual' background! I stamped and embossed the background 'Keys' in White and then coloured the background with Adirondak Inks, water splattered and embossed again...This gives the Tag an almost 'plastic-y' feel!  I used the 'stitching' stamp around the edge and embossed again. I've stamped the sentiment and cut it out and stuck the words individually onto the Tag. The Key is a rusty old key which I have been saving knowning that it would be used on something! The Butterfly is made using shrink plastic.
There you have it! I hope you like it.
I'll hopefully catch up with you soon, though I'm not sure when....life is a bit hectic at the moment!

Thanks for looking.

DCWV cardstock, My Mind's Eye papers
Unity stamp (as above), black Versafine ink, Derwent pencils
organza ribbons, pins.

Thanks

Hi everyone - a super quick post from me to show a super quick mini card. I've used my new favorite letter stamp set from Paper Smooches (Alphadot). The letters are just so cute & quirky!

I've also used an old Unity store kit that Emily used to sell. I've embossed the image and letters in white and paper pieced the flower.

Have a happy Friday!

Thank You!

Hi there!
I am still on a theme of 'Thank You' this week! This time I used the 'Thank You' set by Flourishes available from Emily here
Here is a page in my mini Journal...not sure if it needs anything else.....I created the background using paints, a stencil and Gesso. I wrote the words with black ink. When I  was making my ATC my Journal was open and I just thought that this flower looked very gentle and went with the words. I stamped it with Versafine and clear embossed and coloured with ProMarkers.
I was going to make a mask to use on this...but couldn't find my Post It notes!!! So I just stamped and embossed the flower and then stamped the background stamp with VersaMark and clear embossed. I coloured the background with the Adirondak inks I had out on my desk.. and water splattered! I coloured the flower with ProMarkers and they have taken on a slightly different colour over the inks, which I was quite pleased with! I stamped and embossed the sentiment and edged it with Gld embossing.
Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good Monday and I'll see you soon.

Another Christmas card here to add to my (slowly increasing) pile! This one uses the Unity Itty Bitty stamp "Silhouette Songbird" available in the shop here.

I used My Mind's Eye papers and stamped directly on to one of them using brown Stazon ink before layering up various papers. I coloured a chipboard flourish using a gold Prismacolor pencil which I also used around the edge of the card:

Materials used:
Papermania cardstock, My Mind's Eye papers
Unity Itty Bitty stamp (as above), brown Stazon ink, gold Prismacolor pencil
Nestabilities die-cut, K & Co sticker, Papermania chipboard
cotton lace, lucite leaves and beaded stamen.

You're Sweet!

Bigger isn't always better, right? I've a teeny little tag to share with you today that I made using the scraps leftover from making a layout. And, you may have guessed this already, but I like it more than the layout! It's just so cute and dinky!

You're Sweet

Just layer a few pieces of co-ordinating papers onto a cardstock base then delve into your stamp stash. I pulled out the closest set - Admit One from Lawn Fawn's Summer Release, found a little space for my sentiment and then added a 'popped up' element stamp. Punch a hole and thread through some leftover ribbon and you have an extra little 'sumthin, sumthin' to add to a card or present when you need to. And it takes less time than sorting your scraps or tidying your desk!

You're Sweet

*** Love Lawn Fawn? The Lawn Fawn Autumn Release is in stock at Make The Day Special right now! And believe me, they are something special! ***

Buzzy Buzzy Buzz

Hi All, it's Kim here with the last sounds of Summer buzzing on by.

I have my Summery DT make for Make The Day Special this week. I've used one of the new stamp sets from Paper Smooches, have you seen them yet? Very cute, this set is called 'Giddy Bugs'.

Right well I need to buzz off now.
Hope you all have a good week.

You Are The Key!

Morning!
I have a Tag to share with you today....
It started life as...
I grabbed my Unity Store Kit, 'Key To Joy' available from Emily here and stamped the background stamp with my VersaMark pad and clear embossed....
and then grabbed a few inks...
and blended and water splattered until it looked a bit like this....
I then repeated the process using slightly different colours...
I used the first tag to punch some circles to use as flowers on my other Tag...
Until I ended up with this...
I stamped out of the word sayings and cut them and doodled a little black line round the individual words...A little twisted thin wire behind the flowers and I was done..
I hope you like it...
Thanks for looking and I'll see you again soon....
