A Stamping We Will Go...

What to do when your mojo has hit rock bottom? Experiment of course! Yep, I am having one of those days again and I need a bit of a creative breather, where I am still working but not having to come up with a finished make.

So I thought I would try out some different stamping textures by stamping with the ZIG Art and Graphic Twin Pens, available from Make The Day Special, on different papers in my stash.

The stamp I'm using is the Merry and Bright Unity Itty Bitty stamps also available from Make The Day Special.

Well that's it from Kim Labs for today.

Hope you are having a good creative Tuesday.

Insightful Meadows!

Hello there....

Late again, I'm afraid.....I haven't got used to working Monday's yet!
This week I have used one of my all time favourite kits by Unity, Insightful Meadows. Available from the lovely Emily here
I have used my Distress Stains to stamp with. These give a beautiful water colour effect. Unusually for me I have also used a coloured card blank.....The hardest bit was choosing the background...In the end I have used a Red Velvet paper and tied  some ribbon round and added a bow.. I think this has made a simple card quite elegant....
Thanks for looking, I'll see you soon....maybe with something inky and painty.......

The quote from the Key to Joy set was stamped on to more card coloured with distress stains and white drawing ink.

Materials used:
Unity kits (as above), Ranger Distress stains, Ranger Distress inks, brown Versafine ink, white drawing ink
Wild Orchid paper roses, Basic Grey rub-ons
cotton lace, ribbons, beaded embellishment,

Christmas Wrapping!

Hello there! A bit late I'm afraid....a combination of working and DH being away for the weekend!!
That time is almost upon us again so I thought I'd show you some really very quick and easy little gift tags for all your pressies :-).....I love making Tags, but I thought these were just so quick and easy for your wrapping of pressents!!
I started with one of my normal size Tags and ran it through my 'bug using an embossing folder and one of the Tim Holtz words. I coloured the embossing folder with some Blue Distress ink to colour the Tag. The image is one of the Unity Itty Bitty stamps available from the lovely Emily here I just added some snowflakes and glitter glue...
Next came the 'mistake'......I inked the wrong side of the embossing folder and also stamped a bit off....so it's de-bossed and little, but I didn't want to throw it away!!
Or how about some shaped Ornaments to use for your tags??
Using a Tim Holtz die and cutting it out of a piece of the packaging you would normally throw away...also put through the embossing folder...
Or emboss the shape before stamping.......

I hope these have given you a few ideas for your Christmas wrapping....

I'll be back soon, thanks for looking....I'll be earlier next time!!

Trim, Prima flowers and centres
beaded embellishment, Crafty Notions Rainbow Drops

Kids Play....

Hi there...long time no see!! Hopefully I will be able to post more often now....
Yesterday I was having a play with the FAB Flourishes stamp set 'Kids Play' available from the lovely Emily here
I decided that I wanted something fairly quick and simple...sort of ease myself back in gradually......and also use  my favourite Monochrome colours...Black and White...I hope you like it..

I used one of my Nestie shapes to stamp on. She is stamped and clear embossed. For the matt I used one of my 'Bug embossing folders..'Bubbles' I think and embossed the edges with White embossing powder. The sentiment and long stamp were just clear embossed....Told you it was quick and easy!!!

Hopefully see you again very soon......I have heard little whispers that we are nearly on our 500th post and Emily might just have something special in mind.....

A journal page

I have another journal page to show today which uses stamps from Unity's store kit - All About the Journey which is available in the shop here.

I stamped the arrows on to the page and used coloured pencils to highlight parts of them. The large quote stamp was stamped on to a bought die-cut. I stamped the destination quote on to paper and then cut out each word individually before sticking to the page. I then used another of the quote stamps and cut out the word "journey" which I then stapled to the page as a tab.

Materials used:
Pentel oil pastels, Unity stamps (as above), black Versafine ink, Derwent Inktense pencils, white drawing ink
digital art doll (from Etsy),
K & Co die-cut

Itty Bitty Silhouette Song Bird

Hi All, Kim here, thought I would play with some alcohol inkiness for today's Make The Day Special DT project.

The stamp is the Unity Itty Bitty Silhouette song bird. I love the Itty Bittys, they are such a good price and as they are foam mounted rubber they are so very versatile too.

Have a fabulously creative Tuesday.

Ornate ornaments

Hello.
Im really trying to keep up with my Christmas cards this year.
Have you all started yet?
For this card I used the lovely Ornate ornaments from Lawn fawn.
I stamped the the background in two shades of green then used a brayer with the lighter shade.
The baubles were heat embossed then cut out.
I have them raised of off the card.
The bow, hook and string were stamped straight onto the card.
I finished with a little bling on the bows.
Thanks for looking.

Enjoy This Day

For today's card I used alcohol inks to make a faux bleach stamped card using Unity's Insightful Meadows stamps available from the shop here.

I stamped with Versamark on to glossy card and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The next step was to add alcohol inks. After they had dried I used an iron to heat up and remove the embossing leaving the stamping.

The sentiment is from an old Unity monthly kit of the month.

Materials used:
Kraft cardstock, Papermania paper
Unity stamp (as above), Versamark ink, clear embossing powder, Ranger alcohol inks
Spellbinders die-cut, CraftWork brad, ribbon, lace.

Your Ticket To Glitter

I've been making more Christmas notelet cards with the Itty Bitty ticket to jingle stamp from Unity available form Make The Day Special.

This time I've broken out the glitter.

I've used ZIG Art and Graphic Twin pens, from Kuretake which are also available from Make The Day Special, to stamp with and added a border of glitter with the ZIG 2 Way Glue pen on the ticket.

Right, I've got to go and clean up all the glitter!

Have a glittery day.
