Enjoy this day

Today I have a quick 8" x 8" scrapbook layout to show you using stamps from the June Unity store kit.

I used a base of October Afternoon grid paper and stamped the floral stamp straight on to it using Memento ink before colouring it with Promarkers. The frame stamp was also stamped directly on the paper with Memento ink and then I journalled inside it. The "enjoy this day" stamp was then stamped down alongside the photo.

Materials used: October Afternoon papers (Fly a Kite collection), Unity June store kit, Memento ink, Promarkers, Joy Crafts butterfly die, black gel pen.

Floral Friends

My card for today is made using a stamp from the Unity Floral Friends set, with sentiments written as the stems!  I had some scraps of Dovecraft papers on my desk so coloured the image with Copics to match and punched out a couple of flowers with an MS punch, adding metallic nailheads to embellish.  The sentiment is from the {ippity} Fall For You set, all available from Emily here.

Materials
Stamps - Unity, {ippity}
Papers - Dovecraft and DCWV
Inks - Memento and Copics
Other - metallic nailheads

Wedding Congratulations!

Love is in the air and we are now slap bang in the middle of the Wedding Season. I had another play with my 'Be my Bridesmaid' set from My Cute Stamps available from Make the Day Special and made a wedding card in non traditional colours. I used some of my new Basic Grey and Pink Paislee papers which I matted and layered and stitched with my Sewing Machine.

I paper pieced the wedding dress using some dotty papers and coloured the rest of the image with Promarkers. I wrapped organza ribbon around the front of the card before fixing it to the base.
I mounted the image on to the card using foam pads and added a sentiment from the set, lots of cream flowers and lovely pearls.
I hope you have a lovely Friday.

Unity June Kit - Life Becoming

Thought I would show you a couple of the gorgeous stamps from the June 2010 Unity Store Kit Life Becoming. They have been designed by Melody Ross and are so gorgeously suited to shabby chic or vintage.

I seem to be making lots of very simple cards at the moment but some times simple goes a long way!

Both the Butterfly and the Rose have been stamped onto scraps of designer paper and then I've added just a touch of extra colour with pencils.

Enjoy this day!
Kim

Born to fly , Unity

Hello, Ive been playing with the Unity store kit "life becoming" .Everything i came up with seemed a little dark so chucked all those ideas out and started again, I'm more pleased with this as i went all pink and its so much brighter. The bird and sentiment are both from the kit and the background stamp,if you can see it is from the other part of the kit "Quiet essence".
Ive used distress inks and momento and added some ribbon and I'm not sure what the other stuff is called.
Thanks for looking.
