CAS wishes and kisses

Hello.

I thought i would try something a little different today.

I don't know what this type of card is called,

I cut white card stock 11.5 x 6 inches

then scored at 3.5, and 7.

Then cut from the top of the first score diagonally.

And just folded.

I have used the "Wishes and kisses" kit from Unity.

I simply stamped straight onto the card the on another piece of card

stamped the heart and added it to the middle section using foam pads.

To finish i added some stickles to the heart.

I hope your all having a great Christmas time and happy new year.

Thanks for looking.

Dreams Tag!

Morning!
I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas weekend and are still enjoying the Holiday.
I have a Tag to share with you today..................made with September 'All About The Journey' Kit available from Emily here
I love this kit :-) ♥ (I've just found out how to put hearts on a post..................so there could be hearts on everything!!) but I digress.
I stamped and clear embossed the 'Month' stamp first and then decided that I needed a more detailed background, so I stamped and clear embossed the 'Compass' stamp randomly round the Tag. The 'Arrow' is just stamped and clear embossed. I then coloured it with my Adirondak Inks............I did start off with Grey Tones, but as you can see, my favourite Orange soon made an appearance! I stamped the Quote onto spare pieces of Mountboard and once stuck on the Tag I covered them with Glossy Accents. The largest bit of the quote I've put behind a metal frame and filled it with Glossy Accents.
Thanks for looking and I'll see you in the New Year!

Merry Christmas From Make The Day Special

Although it's my day to post some inspiration for you, I think you may all be a little too busy opening presents, visiting family and stuffing your faces with chocolate, to whip out the stamps and the inks. So, I'd just like to wish you all a Merry Christmas from everyone here at Make The Day Special!

Making Summer Into Winter

I'm cheating today! I made a card for my regular Make The Day Special post when I suddenly realised that it used a stamp from the Ippity Summer 2010 release. So I thought I would tease you with a tiny peek and then make you hop over to {Ippity} Inspiration to actually see the whole thing.

Enjoy!

Clean and Simple and Lovely and Inky!!

Morning. Gosh Mondays come round really quickly!
Today it is my turn to show you my creations using stamps available from the lovely Emily at Make The Day Special.
The first one I want to share is, unusually for me a Clean and Simple Card (CAS)
This is made with one of the Unity Wooden Mounted Stamps 'Just Hanging Out' I love this stamp and was so pleased when Emily sent it to me. (Whoops, I've just noticed it's out of stock, sorry. I'm sure Emily will be getting some more soon.)
I've simply clear embossed the image, coloured it with ProMarkers and inked and clear embossed round the edge. Simply matted on some lovely textured cardstock. I've used a little Photo Punch on the corners so that I could slide the image onto it......................would you believe this was the trickiest part??? :-) I've just added a simple sentiment which I've coloured with an inkpad and clear embossed.
Whilst I had my Unity stamps out, I thought I'd have another play and this time do my usual and get inky and a 'little' messy!
She's lovely isn't she? She is a Suzi Blu stamp that I bought from Emily a while ago, thinking that she would look great on my Journal Pages.............and she does! I had so much fun making this. She is simply stamped and clear embossed and coloured with my Promarkers. I've coloured the background with my Distress Inks and then used a stencil (which I'ved used to Journal round!) with a stronger colour of DI. The little sentiment also comes with the set and I've stamped it onto Shrink Plastic.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to visit Emily who has the most fantastic really hard to get stamps and wonderful service.

Itty Bitty Thanks

I know we haven't had Christmas yet but I thought I'd make a start on Thanks cards for the kids to send afterwards!
I used the Itty Bitty Flower Background stamp by Unity (available in the shop here) to make the background by randomly stamping all over white card using brown Memento ink. I then used coloured pencils to colour a few of the flowers in. The sentiment is old letter stickers and then I added some Prima flowers.

Materials used:
Papermill cardstock, Deluxe Designs alphabet stickers
Itty Bitty stamp (as above), brown Memento ink, Caran D'Ache pencils
Ribbon, buttons, brads and Prima flowers.

Altered Photogratph Canvas - So Fairy delicate

Hi Everyone,

I have something a bit different to share today. I am a bit obsessed with trying out different mixed media techniques at the moment so there may be more projects coming along!

I used a baby photo of Heather, this was taken when she was a day old and very dinky. I soaked the photo and then sanded the areas of the picture I did not want to keep. I used a varied of inks and glimmer mist to colour and used stamps to add background and detail.

I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

The stamps used are {ippity} 'thoughts from the past', Butterfly from Unity 'Key to Joy' set and Unity winged heart without its wings.

Thanks for stopping by

Bold insight

Hello.
For today i have made a tag using,
Bold insight stamps from Unity.
Before i coloured the tag with distress inks,
i clear embossed the flower stamp
just so that is stands out.
I stamped the dragonfly onto grungepaper and coloured with the same inks.
Ive used some lace and fibres and charm to add some more detail.
And lastly my flower.

This took quite a while to do i punched loads of flowers and stamped onto them
it doesn't show too well.
and then layered them all together.
Thanks for looking.

Have a ball!

So it's nearly Christmas, so that makes it Party Season too.  So I decided to make a winter inspired party card using one of the Lil' Grumpies by Smeared Ink.  I love Smeared Ink stamps, something a little different to mainstream images, but always fun to work with; real quality unmounted red rubber deep-etched images trim and slap on an acrylic block.

I used a card blank, patterened paper, scalloped border die-cut and chipboard tag all from Issue 37 of Let's Make Cards.  Not a magazine i get that often, but the quality of items with it are always quite good.  I stamped my Lil' Grumpy onto white cardstock with Black Memento Ink, and coloured with Promarkers.  I then cut this out and layered it onto a scallop oval die-cut.  To add a little texture to my card, I added some scraps of sequin waste in the background.   To finish it off I added some purple irridescent foam snowflakes, which i added gems too, along with a few gems scattered over my card.

I hope you like it, Thanks for looking

Metallic And Bright

The last run of Christmas makes and I'm still desperately playing catch up! Note to self - start earlier next year. I'm sure I say that every year and I never do!

I've used the Unity Itty Bitty Merry and Bright stamp with the sentiment, I think I can safely say that this has been one of my top favourite stamps for this season.

I've used the metallic Perfect Pearls to add that gorgeous shine.

Ooo I'm so easily distracted by shiny things.

Have a shiny day.

I hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Ticket To Ride

Just stopping by to share my first project for Make The Day Special. The stamps that I've used are from Unity's Kit All About The Journey and, believe me, there was some excited squealing when these dropped through my letterbox.

I've started off simply, by making a cute little tag that's going to slot into a mini-album I made in September (or should I say, started making in September!) I've spritzed the background with some inks and then partly stamped the tag with the calendar stamp from the kit to form part of the background. Add some paper scraps and lace, along with my rail ticket. To finish off, I stamped the arrow using part of my kit and added it to my tag using some dimenstional pads. Can you see the map detail on the arrow? It's amazing!

I'm thrilled to have this particular set of stamps in my grubby, inky hands. They are, without doubt, the best stamps I have ever owned - they're just so usable for all sorts of projects - and they suit my tastes so perfectly that there's definitely more to come.

The make I am sharing for the Friends with Flair blog hop is a little book I made for a friend. I thought it would be nice for her to have a book to put inspiring quotes and other things into. I put things on a few pages to get her stared, not all shown here to avoid boring everyone with a huge post, lol

Above is the front cover, the stamps used are from one of the Unity store kits and the colouring is with acrylic inks.

This is the Back cover.

Tag for inside, stamps here by {ippity}

The final two pictures are a couple of the page.

I've used the Unity Itty Bitty Joy stamp which you can get over at Make The Day Special. The Itty Bitty stamps aren't small as the name suggests this one is just under ATC size (2.5 inch by 3.5 inch)

Thanks for popping in today.

Wonderful Snowman!

Morning!

I'm very nervous..........my very first post! I hope you like my card.

I have used the 'Itty Bitty Snowman' available from Emily here He is FAB, isn't he?
I couldn't decide what to make with him, until I realised he would fit nicely in my Nesties and I thought a shaped Easel card would show him off! I think next time, I might try and cut a circular base too!
Here he is!
The background papers are by PaperMania, the Chip message is by K & CO from the Peppermint Twist collection and I've just added some sticky ribbon across the bottom and Snowflakes using my lovely Martha Stewart punch.

Thanks for looking.

Lawn Fawn New Release Day

Hello everyone,

Bit winter wonderlandish here at the moment which meant that I got a chance to play with a set from the new Lawn Fawn release today - these stamps are going to fly

I love this set it is called 'My Silly Valentine' and it is just my thing. I can not do slushy sentimental valentine cards! (yep I am old and cynical, lol)

I had a go at clean and simple today for a bit of a change, I hope you like them,

for each of the cards I stamped the image in archival ink and painted with acrylic inks. I hen just layered the image using foam pads and positioned on the card.

I love the little images and matching sentiment, I think they could be good for anniversary cards and general cards too.

Thanks for dropping by

Emily

Let it snow

Hello, I'm back with another Christmas card.....and as we are currently under about 6 inches of snow i thought this set from ,

I have used navy card stock and stamped in navy using the long snowflake stamp.
I then add some stickles to the centres.
I stamped two more snowflakes and one of my own sentiments
and used a square punch.
These are raised on foam pads.

The butterfly stamp from the set was stamped using black Stazon ink on to shrink plastic and then coloured with chalk before shrinking.

Materials used:
Papermill cardstock, Basic Grey Curio patterned papers, Pink Paislee Sweetness paper
Unity stamps (as above), Versamark ink, black embossing powder, shrink plastic, black Stazon ink, Deluxe Designs ink
