Happy Birthday

Hello my card for today uses the "Birthday numbers" set from My cute stamp These are available here at make the day special. Firstly i cut a piece of patterned paper from Echo park to go on my card blank Then on the reverse i drew some random scallop shapes and then cut the center from the paper and folded the scallops out and stuck them down to make a frame effect.
I then stamped 6 of the presents on more pp and cut them out and layered them up. And to finish i used the happy birthday sentiment and mounted it on a scalloped circle.

Bookmarks

Today I have a couple of bookmarks to show you. The first was made using stamps from the Unity August store kit - Learning {year by year}. I made a bookmark from Kraft recycled card and then stamped the tape measure stamp a few times. I then stamped various coloured stars and cut them out before sticking them on top of the bookmark. The final step was to add the twill ribbon.

Materials used:
Kraft recycled card
Unity August store kit, Colorbox chalk ink, Memento inks
Twill ribbons and staples.

My second bookmark uses stamps from the gorgeous Unity kit - One Precious Life. I made the bookmark and used distress inks to colour the edges. I then used the flower stamp and Versamark ink in the corners. The sentiment stamp was then stamped down the centre of the bookmark using brown ink.

Materials used:
Kraft recycled card
Unity August store kit stamps, Ranger distress inks, brown Memento ink, Versamark ink
ribbon and a handmade tassle

If you haven't visited the shop recently you need to check it out as Emily has added loads of fab new stamps recently and is offering free p&p this weekend!

Thanks for Owl-ways being there.

I have a cute little card to share with you today made using the sentiment and little Owl image from the Woodland Friends My Cute Stamps set from Make the day special.

To make the card, I matted spotty paper onto brown card and sewed around the edges before sticking it to the card base. I stamped the owl onto textured card and coloured him to match the paper combo. I cut around the image leaving a border and added it to the card with foam pads. I then stamped the sentiment and cut it into a strip adding a notch to the end before mounting it to the card with foam pads.
As a finishing touch, I added a button, an owl charm and a gem.
Make sure you check out Emily's Make the Day Special shop for some fab My Cute Stamp sets and many more fabulous goodies!

Happy Birthday

To celebrate my birthday....I made myself a card! Tee hee. I've used the seriously gorgeous August Stamping Store Kit from Unity (The Right Words) to make this simple card:

I stamped the image straight onto the card and heat embossed it. I repeated this on a piece of white card and coloured each letter with Promarkers, adding foam before attaching them to the card. Lastly, I added some string and a button and voila!

Have a great week,

Back 2 school

Today I have a layout to show you using 7 stamps from the Unity August store kit - Learning {year by year).

All stamps were stamped on the grid paper using brown Memento ink. I used the file folder stamp to journal on and tucked it under the photo. The title "back 2 school" was matted on red patterned paper and the stars were stamped in brown and red before being cut out and raised on foam pads. The arrow was also raised on pads and the date written on by hand. The apple was stamped twice - once in red and again in brown and green before being cut out and layered. Finally the tape measure was stamped on grid paper and the "school days" was stamped straight on to the layout.

Materials used:
Bazzill cardstock, October Afternoon Fly A Kite papers
Unity August store kit, brown Memento ink
staples

Mini Pamper box

I have a something 'other than a card' to share with you today using a Mini Bathtime Fhiona stamp which is available from Make the Day Special.

I made a little Shaker box using a Sizzix die, I used double sided paper from my stash as I wanted the inside to be pretty too! I stamped the image and coloured it with Promarkers. I cut it out with my Nestabilities and layered it on to a scalloped circle. I wrapped ribbon around the box and added the image to fix the ribbon to the box. I added a flower to the top left hand corner of the box top.

I stamped the sentiment and created a little panel which I used to fix the ribbon to the back of the box.

Perfect to hold two small handmade heart soaps!
Have a great Friday!

A cute mini Wedding card

I have another mini card to share with this Friday. I used the cake and sentiment from the Be my Bridesmaid set which is available from Make the day Special.
The finished card measures 10cmx10cm.

To make the card, I cut a square of cream card to measure 10cmx10cm and layered a piece of patterned card over this. I wrapped organza ribbon around both layers and stuck them to the card front.
I stamped the image and sentiment on to white card, coloured the image in and then die cut using a Nesties shape which I layered with foam pads on to another Nesties label cut from cream card.
I added a bow to the right of the image and accented with pearls and gems.
Have a lovely Friday!

Simply Perfect

I love the Unity and {Ippity} stamps as most of us here on the Make The Day do of course! One of the main reason I love them so much is that as well as being beautifully designed they are so versatile as well.

They can suit so many different styles and for those of you who don't know me I am quite creatively fidgety and chop and change my style all the time, so these stamps are perfect for me!

I have a very clean and simple style card for you today, which is perfect if you have need a card quickly and don't have much time in your creative space.

This is perfect for using up scraps of papers and I've used one from my stock of homemade background papers. I've used one of the gorgeous stamps from the Unity Insightful Meadows Kit and matched it with a sentiment stamp from Unity March 2010 Store Kit.

Nice and simple,
Just like me :)

You are the key

For today's card i have used the July store kit from Unity, Key to joy . Ive used lots of distress inks for this card to make the main image, the background and the flower. To make the flower i used two different punches , i used three of each flower and coloured them to match the main image. While they were still wet from the ink i curled up the edges and stuck them together using glossy accents then put a gem in the middle. Other things used were linen thread and a key charm.

A Winter Wonder Land....in the middle of August!

I'm coming round to the idea that starting early on Christmas cards and gifts is a sensible plan. It always sneaks up on me, so this year, I'm getting prepared!

I've created this little gift box using my trusty Big Shot and stamped the snowflakes with My Cute Stamp's 'Snow Cute' set.

I also used the penguin from the same set to create a tag for the box.
