I 'Heart' You!

Morning!
Didn't really know what to call the title of this post!!  I have a Bisque Heart to share with you today :-)
In my haste and excitement to try something new to me I didn't take any 'before' photos!
But this was a plain ceramic heart before I started! I applied 2 different colours of Acrylic paint to the base (I used the little Tester pots!) then a slightly darker shade over the top.I then applied a couple of drops of blending solution and started stamping!
I used one of my most favourite sets 'The Artist In You', available from the lovely Emily here
I stamped the 'Leafy' stamps in VersaMark and then applied Perfect Pearls over the top. The words are stamped in Black VersaFine.
I then just went a bit made with the clear embossing powder!! I just carried on until I got a nice shiny surface! The little tag is a little wooden one I have had lying around for ages! It got more or less the same treatment......and I added Distress Ink round the edges!
Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good Monday. Tis lovely here, the sun is shining, I think Spring has finally 'sprung'!!!!

Mother's Day tag

Today I have a quick and simple tag to show you, using the Unity kit A Mother's Love, just in time for Mother's Day next Sunday.

I started by cutting a tag from scrap cardstock and then covering it with the patterned paper before sewing around the edge. I also added some beaded drop trim and a decorative brad. I then stamped the butterfly on to a lightly patterned paper and cut it out and adhered to the tag and added a vintage glass buton to the centre

I stamped  the sentiment and cut it out and added the ribbons.

Materials used:
scrap cardstock, Prima Madeline papers
Unity stamps (as above), Versafine sepia ink
beaded trim, vintage glass button, brad, organza ribbons

Life's too short...

...to wear matching socks! Lol. I love this sentiment!

I stamped and embossed on vellum for the first time, and really like the effect! The stamp set is from Unity's fabulous 'Itty Bitty' range, available here. I paper pieced the image, distressed the edges of the backing paper using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in 'Old Paper' and finally stitched round the outline of each sock.

(And of course what card of mine would be complete without a bow?)

Thanks for dropping by,

Just My Type

Here's a card I created with the 'Just My Type' set of stamps from Lawn Fawn. These clear stamps are so easy to use, and give a brilliant impression every time you use them; they make it really easy to create a quick card, that looks like you spent ages on it.  I stamped the images with Memento Ink, and coloured with Promarkers.
Have a great day

You Are Loved In Red And White

It's your Tuesday Make The Day Special Girl today - Suzi Blu You Are Loved!

I just love red and white, they are so striking! The background uses another Unity stamp but this one is from the Ippity Collection and you can get it from {Ippity} Inspiration Fall 2010. Gingham stamps are the best!

Thanks for popping by and see you next week!

Hey Girlfriend!

Hi there!
I have a really easy, quick and simple card to share today!
I used the Itty Bitty 'Hey Girlfriend' stamps by Unity and available from the lovely Emily here

This card really couldn't be simpler! I started with a Black card base, topped with White and then (a not very straight!!) piece of patterned Black and White paper. The 'Girls' were stamped and clear embossed, matted onto Black and then 3D. I stamped the message onto White, purposely cut it at an angle!! and 3D it again. I have just knotted 2 pieces of ribbon together and stuck them to the side! A few stick on gems later and there we have it! Really quick, simple, but I think quite effective!

Sun is shining here :-) hope it is where you are. Have a good week and I'll catch up with you very soon.

Thanks for looking.

Hello. Hi. How Are You?

I'll be the first to admit that I've never really been much of a card maker, but I'm determined to use up some of my smaller scraps and conquer my fear of small (design) spaces by making some cards. So, in an attempt to make life easier for myself, I've been designing mini cards.

These dinky, little cards have a canvas size smaller than an ATC, so filling up the space is a lot easier than when you're designing a traditionally sized card - especially when you have such beautiful stamps to hand.

Mini Card

For the first, I simple stamped a quote from the delicious All About The Journey collection, added some scraps of paper and a hand rolled fabric rose. All done in less time than takes to make a cup of tea.

Hi Card

The second features one of the suitcase stamps from the A Girl & Her Adventures collection but once again I've used it almost as a background stamp and it's made a plain bit of card into an 'oh so pretty' piece of patterned paper and adds a shabby chic, vintage touch. A couple of stickers and embellishments later and I was done.

Two of the easiest cards I've ever made, yet easily two of my favourites.

You by my side...

Hi everyone. I feel very lucky to be the one who posts on a Friday and therefore the one who gets to say 'it's Friiiiiiiiday!'. lol.  Today's make uses the adorable Itty Bitty 'Owl Always':

I decoupaged the owl stamp, using foam pads (although the picture doesn't show this too clearly).

Have a great weekend, whatever your plans!

My Cute Stamp Skinny Invites

Hello folks, how are you all doing this week? My make for you this week is a little different,  I thought I would try experimenting with a different format by making some little skinny invite cards. They only measure 4 cm by 10.5cm (~ 1.5 inch by 4.1 inch) so very slender indeed!

The My Cute Stamp Birthday kit is perfect for these little cards I thought.

Ok so you would have to write really small on the inside but for every one A6 sized card you can get three invites so at least you get to invite lots of people to your party! I'm sure there is some logic in there somewhere.

Have a lovely day.

Insightful Meadows!

Morning!
I have a card to share today :-)
I thought I would use one of my favourite stamp sets and also one of the first I bought by Unity......♥♥♥ love this set...........'Insightful Meadows' The lovely Emily is out of stock I think at the moment, but there are more on the way!  I wanted to make another card with a 'vintagey' feel and these stamps do lend themselves to almost any style!
My base card is textured 12x12" cardstock cut in half to make a 6x6" card, I've just smudged Distress Ink round the edge! I've created the background paper by stamping and clear embossing the flowers in the set onto Ivory pearlescent paper and then colouring with Distress inks and water splattering. I used Kraft card to stamp and clear emboss the main image and added colour with my water brush and Distress Inks. I stamped the sentiment with StazOn and highlighted it with Glossy Accents. The matt is a piece of corrugated packaging, I've just 'roughed up' the edges and inked them. All that was needed to finish was a length of Twine! Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a great start to the week...........the sun is coming out now, but it's still frosty and cold!
I'll catch up with you very soon.

Unity stamps, Versamagic chalk inks, black Versafine ink
beaded Christmas decoration, organza ribbon, pins, paper rose

Bold Insight!

Hi there!
I have a card to share with you today. I had such fun making this and surprisingly it turned almost exactly as I planned it too!! Very unusual!
I used the 'Bold Insight' set available form the lovely Emily here I used my Versafine Green to stamp onto a Nesties shape then coloured with Distress Inks and water splattered! The ribbon is tied round the card through the Nesties shapes. The paper is from a Vintage Pad as were the little Flowers, I just added a Pearl Gem and some stick on Pearls.

I hope you like my card, thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.

Butterfly hanging

One of my favourite Unity store kits...Life Becoming is on special offer in the shop at the moment along with Quiet Essence for the grand total of just £20!! I've used the butterfly stamp in the kit for today's project...a mini wallhanging.

I started by colouring plain calico using alcohol inks and then stamped the image using black ink. I then embellished the calico with sequins and then sewed it on to a felt backing before adding the lace. The final step was to add the ribbon and beads to enable it to be hung:

Materials used:
calico, felt
Unity stamp (as above), Ranger alcohol inks, Stazon ink
sequins, beads, cotton lace, satin ribbon.

Super Simple Saturday Stamping

Just a quick 'dashing off to a birthday party' type of post. Left without a suitable gift tag this morning, I hauled out my Make The Day Special stamps and my box of cardstock scraps. Inspiration struck when I spotted my favourites - the You Deserve set.

I stamped the sentiment into the middle of the cardstock, then stamped the beautiful florals off the edges of the cardstock to make a border. A quick inking of the edges later and the addition of some spare ribbon and my makeshift gift tag was good to go.

Super quick and super easy. You now have no excuse to leave those scraps languishing in your craft room. Give them a bit of stamping love.

I Love Balloons

Who doesn't love Balloons?  I automatically think of parties and happy times when I see Balloons; Have you ever seen a sad Balloon!! My Card today features the Balloon and string stamps from My Cute Stamp's 'Birthday Numbers' Set.

To create my balloons I stuck random strips of washi tape to some white cardstock, then stamped some balloons.  I then cut my balloons out and arranged them onto my background, before stamping the strings.  Using a heart die I cut out my background piece, using a large heart die I create a card base.  I layered my background onto the card base, adhering a couple of the balloons flat, whilst raising the rest on foam pads.  To finish it off a very simple yellow ribbon bow.

Make sure you check out the rest of the My Cute Stamps range that is available in the Make The Day Special Store, they really are cute stamps, and lovely to work with.

Have a great day all
