I Thought of You.....

Happy Saturday Stampers :0)

Have you seen the new Wplus9 stamps and dies in the shop???..... have a peak here then and come straight back wont you :0)

.... yummy aren't they. Well I've been having a play with the 'Heartfelt Mix' stamps and matching dies to make a card to share with you and came up with this CAS design ...

I part inked the triple line stamp and used it as strings for the heart shaped dies which I cut in three different shades of red card to make the balloons. The cloud stamp is actually larger than the die so you don't get that white border when you use them together and I love the subtle hint of texture it gives the clouds too :0)

It's a fun whimsy set and I thought the floating string of balloons would match some of the heartfelt messages in the set. Most can be paired and used together on the front or continued inside if you wish to, which is what I have done here as the message inside reads 'and smiled'.

Don't forget to check out the 'New' section on the website to see what has been added to the store recently :0)

Thanks for calling in

Gerbera Happy Birthday.........

Hello......

Today I have a card to show you...using a set by Flourishes. Love these stamps.....I love rubber stamps, but these clear Polymer stamps are excellent quality and always stamp well..

I have used 'Gerbera Daisies' for my card today...

I have just stamped with Black Memento Ink and used my long forgotten water colour pencils...loved using these.
The sentiment is off another Flourishes set 'Violet'........One day I will learn to cut and stamp straight!!!! The sentiment didn't quite fit on the small block I had out and being the lazy thing I am I just tried to fit it diagonally, instead of reaching down and finding a larger acrylic block!!....It did look straight when I stamped onto a piece of scrap card..................

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you soon.....

A Healthy Line Up

Happy Tuesday, it’s Ruby here.  (Yes, I know… Ruby Tuesday lol)

Today’s card is a happy & healthy card!  I made it for my Mentor Coach that was working with me while I was doing my training coaching sessions.  She runs her own holistic health business and loves veggies etc so I thought these two sets would be perfect images for her.

250912
First up is Paper Smooches Fruitastic for the peach, banana and blueberries and Paper Smooches Vegtastic for the pepper.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Word Salad sentiment set.

Copics I used…
  • Peach: R12, R14, R17
  • Pepper: R24,R27, R29 and some YG63 to add some green shading to it
  • Blueberries: BV23, BV25, BV29
  • Banana: Y11, Y13, Y15
  • Stalks/leaf: YG63, YG67
Hope it makes you smile and reminds you to eat your five-a-day!

Wishlist Doilies

Today's project I'm sharing is a journal page on which I've used the Unity/Bella Blvd stamp set Bella Doilies.

I used Derwent Artbars to make a background which I thenn blended with water. I stamped the doilies using various chalk inkpads to create some texture.

The lettering was done using rub-ons which I outlined with a fineliner:

Materials used: Unity stamps (as above), chalk inkpads, Derwent Artbars, Scrapworks Rubz, Letraset fineliner pen, Mamelok scrap.

So Thankful

Hello Stampers :0)

Just popping in on this sunny Saturday morning with an autumnal card for you using the new
Lawn Fawn stamp set called 'So Thankful'.

Lawn Fawn stamps are just the easiest and most satisfying images to
paper piece and these adorable little pumpkins are no exception.

I used different tones and patterns of orange and cream for the paper piecing
to give a slightly 3Dimensional patchwork feel to them.... I just love their plump shape :0)

Thanks for stopping by today :0)

A Bit of Denim

Hi everyone.  It’s Ruby. Today I have a fun little boy’s card to share with you.

180912_thumb[1]
The little tag is just a tag that was in the sheet of paper itself.  I cut it off, added a couple of stars and then die cut the number 3.  The little train is from a Christmas set, Lawn Fawn’s Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum and the sentiment is from one of my fave sentiment sets..Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.

I normally like to colour, as you know, but this time I thought I would just stamp and paper piece the little train.  You can’t really make it out but I used white enamel accents for the centre of the wheels for a touch of dimension.

Hope you like it, have a great day!

Just Be You bag charm

I have a bag charm to share with you today using the Life Is Beautiful stamp from the Unity "Just Be You" set.

I stamped the image on to shrink plastic using Stazon ink before cutting it out, adding a punched hole and then colouring with chalk pastels. I then used my heat gun to shrink it before adding a jump ring and then adding it to the bag charm:

A Christmas Owl

Hello Stampers, sorry I'm a bit late this morning but I'm here now with an early Christmas card to share with you....this is a record breaking card because I've never made anything Christmassy this early before but to be fair it's only the sentiment that makes this a Christmas card because the owl could be used for any reason really, come and see.....

This cute set is 'Winter Owl' and is by Lawn Fawn, he's paper pieced using a few scraps and then to add dimension I used Promarkers and a white gel pen for highlights and shadows.
I made the branches from the tree in 'Critters Down Under', it splits in half quite nicely to make a couple of branch pieces and a few doodled lines make it look like a silver birch.

He really looks snug wrapped up in that scarf doesn't he :0)

Thanks for looking today and hope your enjoying the Autumn sunshine :0)

Pennant Banner Tutorial

Today, I have a little tutorial for you all, inspired by The Counterfeit Kit Challenge. (I'm Guest Designing for them this month!) This month's Counterfeit Inspiration Kit contained some of Maya Road's Canvas Pennants. They're a little bit too big for my style, so I created my own, much dinkier version using the Bannerific Stamp Set by Lawn Fawn. I can highly recommend purchasing this little lovely. It really is one of my favourite sets because each of the elements is adorable - perfect for cards and scrapbook layouts; and most especially for counterfeiting your own embellishments.

Your first step is to gather up some scraps in a colour combination which will suit your finished project and I chose colours that would compliment September's Counterfeit Kit. I then stamped directly onto my little pieces of patterned paper scraps - sometimes managing to fit on all five of the little pennants, sometimes only one or two. It's doesn't really matter, because you'll be cutting them out individually, so use up as many of those small scraps as possible! Cut out all of your stamped pennant images and arrange them roughly into the order you'd like them to appear in your banner. Now it's time for some machine stitching. (If you're not a confident stitcher, try working your way through my recent series of tutorials Stitching On Paper.)

Start by setting your sewing machine to straight stitch and adjust the speed to it's slowest setting. Now place your first pennant piece under the presser foot, with the needle in place just above the outside edge of the pennant. Sew three or four stitches - aim to leave a little bit of space between your last stitch and the edge of pennant.

Ensure that you leave the needle in the 'down' position - then lift the presser foot and slide the next pennant into place, so that the edges of your pennants are close but not overlapping.

When the pennant is in place, drop the presser foot and continue stitching. Repeat until you have completed your banner - stitching to the very edge of the last pennant piece. Now remove the banner from your sewing machine, pulling on both working threads.

Knot the working threads at each end of your banner - this will stop the pennant pieces moving around - and use a needle or paper piercer to ensure that the knot is tight up against each end. Now display your banner proudly on your cards and layouts!

Maybe you could try this over the weekend? Whatever you do, have a good one! Clair x

She Leaped.....

Hi there.....
I have a Journal page to show you today...

As soon as I saw the Christy Tomlinson 'She' stamps I knew I had to play with them!
I am making a Journal of Quotes and I had to have 'She Leaped' in it...
I have used my Distress Inks for the background and stamped her onto separate card and coloured her with ProMarkers.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon...

Hi there, it’s Ruby.  Today I have a very quick card that uses one of my fave sets from Paper Smooches Giddybugs. It would make a great quick card for a child.

The bee is just stamped and coloured using Copics, the little gems are blue but for some reason they aren’t showing in my pics.

Hindsight tag

Another tag from me this week, this time using stamps from Unity's Bold Insight store kit.

I stamped the sentiment straight on to the patterned paper. The flowers were stamped on to white card and then coloured with Prismacolor pencils before being stuck on with foam pads:

Tea-rific !!!

Hello Stampers...

Hooray for the weekend, here's hoping it's been a nice short first week back at school for everyone to ease us all in gently :0)

My card to share with you today uses the solid teapot and cup stamp from Lawn Fawn's  'My Cup Of Tea' and I've used the sketch at Lawnscaping challenge too :0)

I find solid stamps a bit scary knowing how to use them until I saw a technique to clear emboss them on patterned paper so I thought I'd give it a try for this card.
To help highlight the image and make it easier to cut out, I used 'Tea Dye' Distress Ink ( it just had to be that one!! ) applied with a blender tool over the whole image..... it doesn't stain the embossing powder and any small taints can be removed by rubbing with a tissue. I love the vintage look but you could try and experiment with other inks to compliment the patterned paper you choose :0)

Thanks for looking today and I hope you get some crafting time this weekend :0)
If your're visiting the shop don't forget to check out the newest Lawn Fawn release which has arrived this week...find them here.

More Itty Bitty Christmas...........

Morning....
I have been playing with Alcohol Inks for this weeks makes...

After seeing the lovely cards that Jo made here I thought I'd get my neglected inks out and had a play....though I just used them to dip card into....Jo's technique is on my 'To Do' list...I've never tried it, so do watch this space!!

I have been using the Unity 'Itty Bitties' again this week....though a different stamp...This time I have used 'A Beautiful Sight'

Again I have made a Card and Tag...

I chose 3 or 4 colours of Alcohol Ink and swooshed them onto my craft sheet and added some blending solution and dipped Gloss card into it...I then stamped and clear embossed the image...

I used some more Black Co-Ordinations card for the background again!

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon....

Grid Card

Hi there. It’s Ruby. Sorry about being so late in posting today because I’ve been really busy.   My card is very simple today, lots of squares cut out of pieces of patterned paper, some Lawn Fawn ‘Love ‘n Breakfast’ stamps and a bit of twine/button.

Believe.

Over the weekend, I delved into one of my boxes of scraps to make a sweet and simple card. The combination of colours that I chose reminded me instantly of autumn - although I could, of course, have been thinking about it subconciously when I chose the colours. Who knows?

To decorate my card, I've used some of the teeny, tiny leaves and flowers from Lawn Fawn's Flutterby set; finishing off with a simple, sentiment (which is part of the main sentiment from the same set.)

Naturally You tag

I've made a simple tag today using stamps from Unity's Naturally You set.

The tag was cut from scrap cardstock and the cute tortoise stamped using Faber Castell brush pens and coloured in with the same. I added Stickles to the hearts.

The sentiment was also stamped using the same brush pens.

Thanks for visiting!

Lovebirds

Hi-de-hi Stampers :0)

I've been playing with another of the new Wplus9 stamp sets in store to share with you... these sweet little lovebirds are from the stamps and matching dies of the same name..... I think that sentiment has to be the cutest play on words too :0)

I decided to use the stamps and dies for the branch but kept the birds in silhouette by just using the dies and a touch of glossy accents on the heart for some dimension too :0)

This is my design team card for this months challenge at St Luke's Charity Card Challenge as the theme is 'COUPLES', please feel free to to hop over to the blog and see the details about the challenge, prize and how you can help raise money for the Hospice too ... it would be great to see you in the players gallery :0)

Thanks for looking :0)
