Flap Mini Book - how to

Hello everyone, I am here to try and give some directions as to how to make a flap mini book like the Magnolia one I shared the other day, you can see the book here

First off you need 4 sheets of 12" by 12" card, preferably the same colour although not vital.

The first piece needs to be scored on one side at 3" and 9" and on the other side at 2 3/4", 3", 9" and 9 1/4"

Cut out the strips between the two score lines as below and put to one side.

Cut the 2nd piece of cardstock in half so you have two 6" by 12" pieces
Score these at 3", 9" and 9 1/8"

Cut four 6" by 6 3/4" pieces and score at 6" and 6 1/4"

Cut two pieces 5 1/4" by 5 3/4"

Now comes the fun bit!

Take the first piece of card and trim as shown in the picture below.  Fold all the score lines.

Take one of the long pieces of cardstock and glue together as shown to leave a pocket.

Attach the other strip to the other side

At this point I always seem to manage to fold the flaps wrong but you want to end up with the flaps facing out like this.  Take to of the 6" by 6 3/4" pieces and attach to make the front cover.

You should end up with it like this.  You then need to repeat this for the back cover.

The two remaining pieces of card are to slide into the pockets as below.

No all you need to do is decorate and you have a flap mini album :)

I can not take credit for the idea for this album I saw one on youtube but I am not sure mine is quite the same as the instructions were a little hard to follow.

I hope you found this useful, I would love to see your albums if you make one.

Happy Halloweenies!

Hi there.  It’s Ruby.  I have a couple of Halloween cards to share with you today.  Do you celebrate Halloween?

301012_thumb[1]
Both cards use the Paper Smooches ‘Halloweenies’ set.  The little speech bubble was taken from the new Christmas set, Paper Smooches All Yule Need.  See the little bauble top left, I used that. (I can’t take the credit, it was my bestie’s idea!)

All Yule Need
Sorry the picture quality isn’t that great, I took the pic at night. That hour time change makes such a difference!

Happy Halloween! Hope you have fun if you’re celebrating. Personally this isn’t my favourite celebration because I have a phobia of people in masks so I look as white as my ghost if someone turns up on my doorstep with a mask on! I stay indoors and just make/eat pumpkin soup and send my hubby Ian to the door instead!

Copics Used...

Card One..
 BG72, BG70
YG03, YG01, YG00
YR30 (eyes)
YR18, YR16, YR15
C9, C7, C5, C3

Card Two...

Have you seen the latest Christmas Stamps that Emily has in store?
Today I've used the Paper Smooches sets called All Yule Need and Christmas Sampler to make a simple but colourful Christmas card...

Smiles.....

Are Proof of Everyday Miracles.....

Hello again.

Today I have a little card to share that I made a while ago, using one of my very favourite stamp sets by Donna Downey.....'Insightful Meadows'  All of Donna's designs for Unity are fantastic and this is the first one I bought and still a favourite....

I coloured the base card with Distress Inks and used another favourite Donna set for the stamped background...'Imagine It'.....The main image is just stamped and clear embossed and then red spots dotted about with one of my glitter pens. I've coloured it with different Distress Inks and doodled round the edge. A bit of ribbon and a couple of gems finish it off.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.....

This card is just a little 3” x 3” card.

Hello.
We are getting very christmasy here at make the day special.

And Lawn trimmings for my card.

The card was very simple to make.
I made the background by lightly sponging some blue ink for a moon effect.
Then i used the snowy background stamp with stickles.
You don't get the star shapes though.
Here is a closer picture, its very difficult picking up the sparkle.
Emily has got lots of new Christmas stamps and matching dies from Wplus9 here.

A Sweet Christmas

Hello Stampers...Jenny here :0)

I'm popping in today with a Christmas card using the Lawn Fawn stamp set called 'Sweet Christmas'....

....it contains lots of images but I wanted to use the sweet gingerbread family so I turned them into a cute garland using some wire and beads I found in my stash.
They are just right for heat embossing in white on biscuit coloured card and cutting out, although I left my plain I think they would look fab decorated with liquid pearls or glitter glue as well :0)

Bits and Bobs

Hello, It's Emily here and I have a few quick makes to share with you today.

First up I have the very cute Winter Owl by Lawn Fawn.  I made some 3" by 3" card blanks and knocked up a few of these at my crop on Saturday.  They are very simple but I think this owl is so cute he can pull it off.  Winter Owl can be found here and the Fa La La paper pack can be found here

Next up is another quick Christmas card, this time using Magnolia and Unity.  I love this stamp and it is great to colour but I thought it would be quite nice left uncoloured too for a quicker card.

The Jingle Jangle Tangle stamp can be found here and Unity Ticket to Christmas is here. The paper is by Lawn fawn again.

Last up is a little calender I made using a fab new Unity stamp available here love that shoe!!

Heartfelt mix

Hello.
Another card from me this week.
I have used the heartfelt mix stamps and dies from Wplus9.
These are both out of stock just now but you can see the other  items available from Wplus9 here.
I wanted the hearts to stand out from the background so kept it black and white.
I made the background using my own stamp and  washi tape.
But Emily has some fab stamps from Unity and Christy Tomlinson that would be perfect for backgrounds.
I decided to not use a sentiment so its kind of general purpose.
Thanks for looking.

Christmas Poinsettia

Hi it's Jenny here, I'm filling in for Ruby today and I have another one layer card to share with you :0)

After using the Wplus9 'Fresh Picked' stamp set on Saturday I couldn't stop thinking about using the leaves from the set to make a Christmas Poinsettia...

I stamped the paired leaves three times with a bit of masking and added a bit of depth with Coloursoft pencils again and then used the single leaf in green.

The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set called Bows and Holly which isn't in stock at the moment, I really like how large and handwritten it looks :0) ...and I finished off the flower with some lemon Liquid Pearls for the centre, I'm quite pleased how it turned out and happy that I used the leaves to make something different :0)

Thanks for looking

Berry Best Wishes

Hi, it's Jenny here....

Sorry I'm a bit later than usual but I do have a card to share with you today using another of the new Wplus9 stamp sets in store....

I've made a CAS one layer card using the 'Fresh Picked' stamp set.
I've used chalk inks and a bit of masking to make the berry cluster, the solid stamps allow you to add different shades of ink to them so you get a three dimensional effect and then I touch up the images with Colour soft pencils afterwards to add extra definition.

I just love this set, it has some lovely sentiments and a matching dies as well, perfect for clean and simple cards :0)
