Rogue Redhead!!

Hi there!
I always wanted to be a Red Head!! Sadly my hair colour comes out of a bottle!!!!

Emily has got some fantastic new stamps in and I have been itching to have a play..........Find them here  Love them.........
I used Milliner Misses for my makes this week........

The stamps are fantastic quality and I really enjoyed using them.. I coloured her with ProMarkers... The papers are by K&Co....
I just added some 'tatty' flowers and a flourish. Ribbon is from my stash and the Candi just finished it off....

It's ages since I have played with Tags and I thought maybe I would have a go now....

I embossed the base card with one of my 'bug embossing folders......
I coloured the background with my DIs and did a bit of water splattering and then matted the image to match the card........Just added my 'tatty' flowers and a bit of yarn at the top.........

Thanks for looking, I'll see you soon......Please check these stamps out as they are wonderful and stamp really well............

Thank you for being my friend

Hello.
Lots of lawn fawn used for today's card.
I kind of challenged myself to use patterns  and more colour.
So i got my Lawn fawn Petite paper pad out to play.
I used the papers for the background and to matt the sentiment.
Stamp sets used are ...
The flowers are heat embossed in white and coloured with distress inks.
I finished the card by adding some liquid pearls to the edge of the oval panel.
Thanks for looking.

Part 2!

Hey there everyone. It’s Ruby.  Sorry this will be a very quick post from me today because I’ve not been very well and still don’t feel great so can’t stay on the computer too long at a time.

I made this little notebook last week using Paper Smooches My Peeps to match the card I made my friend. I also made her a flower brooch to go with it, I thought the colours blended quite well so it felt like I was giving her a matching gift set.

This was my card from last week…

Finally this is the little crochet flower I made for her…

All I need to do now is actually post it to her!

Until next week …

Love Letters

Hello!
I have found myself in a vintage mood lately. I think it has something to do with the book I have just finished reading, set during the First World War. It focused on the lifeline that mail can provide, and enabled a budding romance to blossom across the miles and war zone into a deep and lasting relationship. The young lady in the book kept all her beloved correspondence tied with a red string, and she read the lot every valentines day. It was beautiful, and I wanted to replicate it as a Valentines card. So I reached for a script stamp,my trusty W Plus 9 A Pocketful:Valentine stamp set and dies and came up with this...I hope you like it. (And hey! It could even be suitable as one of those tricky masculine cards! Whoop whoop!)

Sew Lovely

Hi.... Jenny here popping by to share a card with you today :0)

I bet quite a few of you have a stamp set that you bought but haven't used much
for whatever reason.... sound familiar??
I came accross a Lawn Fawn set called Sew Lovely this week in my collection
which hasn't seen much ink so I challenged myself to use one of the
smaller images from it to make a card....

The button from this set is rather cute because of the angle it's drawn from but also a bit tricky
to use, I think, for that very reason so I tried stamping it in Ladybug Memento
ink and colouring with red Prisma colour pencils for a realistic 3D look on a one layer card.
I'm hoping you can see the heart shape they are arranged in and to compliment the dimension
I shadow stamped the sentiment too with grey and black ink.
I've not tried either of these techniques before but I do love the
lack of black edges to the buttons.

...so why not have a look at your stamps and try a new technique with a un-loved set
to give them a new lease of life :0)

Vintage Tilda!

Hi there!
I still have some of my Christmas stamps to hand and I really want to be more organised this year, I lost my way a bit last Christmas and didn't enjoy the last minute rush that I had..........

So I got one of my Tildas and decided to go a bit 'Vintagey' with her......

I have used 'Tilda With a Big Bouquet' available from Emily here...Love her.........

She is coloured with Promarkers. The papers are from a HUGE 12x12" pad that I have had for an age and I thought I really should start using it!!! These perhaps wouldn't be my first choice, but the colours are good! I've just added some ribbon (don't think any card of mine is complete without it!!)........The flowers are an old Cuttlebug die and I've just added Candi with some stickles on the top.

Thanks for looking, I'll see you soon.............

One Cool Chick

Hi there, it’s Ruby.  I hope that if you’re having snow it's not causing you too much hassle.  We have been stuck in a couple of times but I decided to use it as an opportunity to wind down a bit and learn some crochet.  It’s been on my to-learn list for-ever!  So far I can do a flower and a granny square!

Today’s card is for a lovely lady I haven’t known very long.  She is the most generous, kind, and fun person I’ve ever met.  So very knowledgeable, I feel really privileged to have met her.  She has been giving me lots of her time and guidance recently so I wanted to make her a little thank you.  I thought this proud peacock was up to the job!

MTDS 220113
I used Paper Smooches My Peeps.  For the top left I just stamped the one feather five times to make that five arrangement and coloured it in.  For the beautiful peacock I used the following sets;
  • First fan: 5
  • Second fan: 2, 3, 2
  • Third fan: 2, 2, 2, 2
My Peeps

As you can see the sentiment is from this set too.  I need to use the Owl.  My friend coloured him the other day in the most beautiful colour variations, must play!

I used the following Copics:
  • G09, G05, G03, G02
  • YG25, WG23, WG21
  • V09, YR30
Stay safe and cozy!

Fishtails and True Love anyone...?

Hello!
Brrrr, are you enjoying the snow? Good excuse for a sit down with some hot chocolate and some stamps if you ask me ;-)

Today's cards are made using two of my favorite craft items-the awesome Avery Elle set Lots of Love and fishtails!
The first card is a veritable washing line of love, using just three colours and mixing up different fishtail sizes. This was so pleasing to make! (The purists among you might spot that the very end 'flag' is a W Plus 9 sentiment-more about that later!)

The next card is a tiny card announcing a whole lotta love!
Combining trendy chevrons and double fishtails,it is a perfect masculine card. I used pop-dots on the banner and heart,to stop it from feeling too flat. It reminds me a little of one of those retro American gas pumps :-)

And now for a 'Must Have 2013'announcement. As most people that know me know I have the biggest W Plus 9 ,er,habit *ahem!*,so to justify this I feel the need to say I have used my Cupid's Arrow set SO many times since I got it. Last weeks card was made with it,and several swaps I take part in have had their fair share of ol' Cupid and his sentiments, but the one that I have used over and over is the 'True Love' stamp. It is small but perfectly formed and used to within an inch of its polymer life! Here are a few of the places it has found itself (along with its cousins) on,including the endy banner in today's card ;-)

On vintage seam-binding...

And on a ticket swap....

It is also on several WIP's,and so I have to say it has been one of my best purchases so far in 2013 (and embarrassingly there have been quite a few already :-\ ) It is available here. (I've been kind and left you some, lol)

Right, that is me for this week-stay warm!

Meow!!

Hi,...... Jenny back again on this snowy Saturday :0)

I'm still having fun with the latest Paper Smooches stamps and this time I've used the
cute cat stamps from Nine Lives.....

I really think this cat looks like he's singing so we can pretend he's singing Happy Birthday
to the recipient whilst the cheeky little mouse sneaks into the picture un-noticed :0)
Just imagine a whole cat chorus lined up..... on a card is the only place you'd want to here that!!!

The cute mouse is from Great Chemisty and the musical notes
are on various different Paper Smooches sets.
Letters are Dienamics dies

Funky Flowers

Hi, it’s Ruby.  I’ve got a simple little thank you card to share with you today.

IMG_2190[1]

I think I could have done with running this through PSE to straighten it up a bit, it is straight in real life, honestly!

I used Paper Smooches Friendly Flowers for the little flower and coloured it in using my copic markers.  I like to stamp out images and sit and colour them when I get time, that way I always have a little stash of images to use on cards when I need them. I must be due another session soon.

Mostly I’m inspired by patterned paper so I use that as my starting point when choosing what colours to use, I find it really helps.  How do you choose what colours to use?

Friendly Flower

I really must use this set more often, it’s so lovely and I’ve only used a few stamps from it so far.

That’s it from me for now, back next week!

Happy crafting.

Draw back your bow!

It is nearly here! Love is in the air :-)
Todays card is a layered vintage homage to the angel of love, using the ever awesome W plus 9.
On a kraft card I adhered a wide piece of burlap ribbon, framed by scalloped edges of newspaper. A piece of pink cardstock fishtail was the next layer, and onto that a valentines rosette from The Cats Pajamas, lightly dusted with pink, another rosette of newspaper and script washi tape sits in the first rosette (it's a cake of rosettes!)I cut and stamped cupid from Wplus9 Cupid's Arrow sets on some left over Ikea music wrapping paper, and cut some arrows from the die set in glitter paper. I used the W Plus 9 All Occasions die set to cut two labels, one in newspaper one in pink cardstock and stamped the sentiment on the pink. Then just to round things up,I added two stickpins and a bit of washi tape. I hope you like it!

Instant Birthday!!

Hi ... Jenny here again, oh boy did that week go quickly!!!

My Nephew's birthday is coming up this month and he's into his photography
so I thought I'd use Avery Elle's stamp set called 'Picture It' to make him a card...
(unfortunately it's out of stock at the moment)

I just had to get it out of my system and ink up that camera in the instagram colours
and then add the brights and blacks with coloursoft pencils :0)
It's not easy to see in the photo but I've stamped pale grey cameras either side of the coloured one!!
Love the strips of patterned tape too in fact its quite a funky stamp set and ideal for
those photography lovers out there...... perfect for scrapbooking too :0)

Thanks for looking :0)

Lots of cards

Hello.
Having been ill all week so far Ive not had time to make something new but thought i would share some cards i made last week.
Its an Avery Elle card fest lol.

I used the Blooming banner set and stamped onto some paper paper.
After a couple of layers i added it tot he card base and finished with lace and ribbon.
And sneaked in a little bit of liquid pearls.

I used one of my favourite colour combos for this card.
The stamp set used is To the point..
I just cant resist a cute banner and kept it simple only adding some twine.

This card was for a colour challenge and it was a challenge as i wouldn't have used these colours together.
Its a great set for adding a cute bit of colour and pattern.
The sentiment is from Lots of love.

Two sets used in for this card are To the point and Blossoms and blooms..
All sets are a dream to stamp with.
Thanks for looking.

Needs More Added?

Hi there, it’s Ruby.   This week’s card was made using some new to me stamps by Avery Elle.  I have not tried their stamps before and I have to say I was really impressed with them.  They stamp really clearly and I love the sentiments in this set.

Here’s what I created with my set.  I needed a few simple thank you cards.  I’ve always liked stamps that have a mixture of words based on the same theme, in this case thanks.

MTDS 080113
My hubby took one look at it and said, ‘It doesn’t look like it’s finished’.  He then tried to redeem himself by adding, ‘Well it doesn’t, you normally do that layering thing with your pop dots’.  I have been trying my hand lately at CAS, it seems to be what I am more inspired to do.  Oh well, it’s at least another one of my thank you cards made lol.

This is the lovely stamp set…  It’s called Framed Fonts’

Have a fab week!

A Pixie-licious invite

Hello!
Today's card is an party invitation. Made using the super cute Unity's Pixie-licious,it is perfect for a child's card (or a grown-up ;-))
I used a wood grain and toadstool background to add to the fairy abience and created a pocket from mulberry paper and a grassy punch. The images are stamped onto white cardstock and cut out, the toadstools are on pop-dots,I mounted the pixies onto mulberry scraps. Then I attached the crayons with a piece of jute twine, popped the pixie pair into their pocket and voila! A great interactive card that is sure to bag you top notch guests at your woodland party :-D
Hope you like it!

Feeling Bright

Hi... Jenny here :0)

Have you seen the fab new Paper Smooches sets for January???
There are 4 new sets and I've used three of them on this fun card...

The dinousaurs in the Cuteasauraus stamp set are exactly that and I've used the
circle design from Bold Blooms to make custom spotty paper for their skin!!!
Can you see the stitch lines down the side of the card?... they are from another of the new sets called
Needle little Love, it's such a versatile set with lots of decorative elements.

Thanks for looking

Then stamped the wings onto tracing paper and stuck them onto the bee.
The background was made using Geographic.
I made the scalloped card base using nesties.

Happy New Year!

Well hello!!!  It’s Ruby.  Happy, totally wonderful and fabulous New Year to you! I wish you everything you wish for yourself.

I am here to do the first 2013 post for MTDS, I’m the first person up to start of the New Year.  How exciting, a whole year of inspiration is waiting for you.

I made this little notepad for my friend that is mad about sending me ‘Did you know…?’ texts.

Some examples of the kind of thing I mean are..
  • Did you know cats spend 66% of their life asleep?
  • Did you know Switzerland eats the most chocolate equating to 10 kilos per person per year? (I soooo need to move!)
  • Did you know a 'jiffy' is actually 1/100th of a second?
Anyway onto my project…

MTDS-010113_thumb1
I used Paper Smooches Smarty Pants and the following Copics…

BG49, BG45, BG10, YR09, YR07 YR04, Y19, Y15, Y13, E11, E00, E29, E27, E25
I just used my computer to generate the sentiment.

Here’s to a fabulous 2013!
