Some bunny ....

Loves you.
My card for today is a complete Lawn fawn fest :)

I used the bunnies from Hello Baby, for the focal image and as a cute extra inside my card.  The papers and dies are currently out of stock, but word on the street is that there is a pretty MASSIVE restock coming along with the fabby new release later this month.....

Two For Tuesday!

Hi! What an amazing Tuesday it is! I have two for Tuesday today..
well the first card is what I'd planned to post. When I last looked at this set..
..there were TONS. Somebody has sneaked in and nabbed them. They are being re-ordered..so don't sweat.
So.. I had to rush this little number up. I was feeling quite hot at the time which subliminally may explain the 'icecream' colours! (ha ha). I've used the WPlus9 Cupid's Arrow set & also the Whole Lotta Happy dies. Quick, easy & perfect if you need to send a card to a special someone!

Well, that's my two for Tuesday. The whisper from HQ is that customs have just taken delivery of an order which will be in store soon. I wonder which one it will be ;-)

See you next Tuesday with something fun!

A Fancy Edge

Hello there and happy Monday :0)

We are on our family Hols this week so last week was a little hectic to say the least, crafting took a back seat so for todays card I thought I'd share a recent publication in Craft Stamper magazine...

This one layer card uses the yummy macaroons from Avery Elle's Bonjour set, I took a folded card base and stamped them up the open edge in a very precarious stack I have to say!! I've used the large solid image for this with Stampin Up ink and then, using a slightly damp waterbrush, I added extra colour for shadows and infilled the centres with matching colour cream too *yum yum*

To make them look even more 3D I used a pale neutral colour ink (Sahara Sand) and a waterbrush to paint a shadow behind the stack to the left and trimmed around the right hand side to make a fancy shaped edge to the front of the card. This isn't watercolour card so I had to take care not to use my paintbrush with too much water otherwise the card would pill and buckle!!

                                                               Bonjour

Just a reminder the new challenge is Anything Goes challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks and this is my DT Inspiration card ..
I've used Cat Icons, Geobasics and Bold Buzzwords.... more details can be found on my blog if you'd like them or hop over to check out the rest of the DT's projects and play along here :0)

Catch you next week :0)

Persian Carpets

I love most things about Persia - the food, the art and in particular the carpets so I was very excited about the new Altenew stamp set Persian Motifs (well I'm excited that we have ALL the Altenew stamps and was spoilt for choice of which to play with first but this one won!)

I took just one of the images from the set and went about stamping up my own carpet design, embossing each one with a teal embossing powder.  Once I'd finished I just used runny watercolour paint to flood each flower with blue, making some areas wetter than others so they would dry darker.  I filled in the leaves and stems in the same way with a teal colour and then left it to dry.  I used the same technique on the background with a pinky-red as I love the bold colours in Persian carpets.

For the sentiment I went for Super Script, one of their gorgeous sentiment sets, and stamped and embossed it onto a vellum strip so you can still see the design underneath.  As fixing vellum can be difficult when you don't have much space to hide the glue, I have a little trick - when doing panels like this, I score them and fold the edges around the back and then a few dots of glue behind the letters are enough to hold it flat ;-)   I added a strip of gold washi to the base card to balance the design and draw your eye to the gold.

If you got the newsletter yesterday and wanted the new Neat and Tangled "A Long Time Ago" set but clicked the link and found it to be unavailable, it looks like there was an error in the link, as it is actually in stock.

This card would fit our new colour challenge too - don't forget to check it out and play along ;-)  http://makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/p/challenges.html

Just Purrfect!

Hi!  My choice of "just purrfect" was definitely not inspired by the weather today! Cold, wet and a wee bit windy!  Where did the sun go?
Never mind though - there is always something in life to be happy about - we have three of them in this house so todays card is inspired by our cats! (and the most amazingly lovely new stamps and dies from Paper Smooches!)
I've teamed up Feline Friends, Cat Icons and Polaroid to make my card for today.  I always say how much I love Paper Smooches and this continues to be true - the stamps stamp so well and the dies cut beautifully and clean.

I hope you like my card and have lots of reasons to smile! Happy weekend!

August Challenge - Week 1

It's time for a new challenge and we're rolling back around to colours this month.  As before we're giving you a choice of 3 schemes and you need only use 3 colours from your chosen scheme.  We've gone for summer into autumn shades....

Here's what we did when we played along  - hope it inspires you to play along too!

Oh Happy Day Card- Faux Watercolour Effect

A very happy Friday to you! I hope you are all well the weather in North Wales has been a lot cooler this week and it is now raining :( Really hoping on getting some sun as there is nothing better than lazy summer days spent outside with the kids... ok .. add in a bit of crafting ... and then there nothing better ... oh and coffee ;)

Today I'm sharing with you a card using a fun faux watercolour technique.....

*Using the large rose shape from Wplus9 'More Fresh Cuts' , ink it up using Picked Raspberry Distress Ink first stamp it off onto some scrap paper before using the second generation ink to stamp onto some watercolour card.
*Using the rose detail stamp from the set ink with Festive Berries Distress Ink and use the second generation ink again to add the detail over the already stamped solid image.
*Then onto the leaf using the same second generation stamping technique with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink.
*Spritz over the stamped piece to add texture and the watercolour effect.
*Make a stacked die cut using the Wplus9 'Happy Trio Die' and add the rest of the sentiment using Lawn Fawn 'Sally's ABCs'.
*Ink the base card and add the layer.

I really love how this turned out! The beautiful faux wtercoloured image patterned paper is so fun to make and will work with lots of different images.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
