A bit of a Shower

We got the new release from Wplus9 yesterday so I couldn't resist having a quick play today and I've got a couple of cards using just one of the small stamp sets - Love Showers.

Firstly I made a quick and simple birthday card.

This is a one-layer card - I stamped the umbrella with Mama Elephant Winter ink and embossed it with clear powder to protect it.  The hearts were stamped with Mama Elephant Lollipop ink and embossed too.  The sentiments arranged around and stamped in black before finishing with some raindrop splatters using tumbled glass distress ink splattered with a paintbrush and toothbrush.

Then with the addition of the cloud border die, you can get a completely different look from the same set.

The clouds were die cut 4 times - twice from white card and twice from a sheet of striped grey paper from the Lawn Fawn Let's Polka pad and paper-pieced together before trimming off any overhanging bits from the edges.   If you look carefully too you can see where I trimmed bits from the centres to make individual clouds (just draw around the inside an trim with scissors to get your centre shape) and get more from this great die.  The umbrella this time was stamped with Hero Arts Tide Pool and I coloured a bit of card the same colour to stamp part of the sentiment on.  The hearts this time were Hero Arts graphite ink.

There are lots of great stamps in this new release - the cute bird which apparently is a chickadee (a US tit-like bird) is so versatile - it could become a myriad of small garden birds depending on how you colour it - I'll be giving it a go myself later.

NEWS FROM THE STORE:

  • WaffleFlower's latest release is now available
  • Wplus9 new release is in store now
  • Reverse Confetti's latest release is in the UK but we are struggling with customs paperwork - hopefully it will be here mid-week.
  • Echo Park - our new brand will be in store mid-week too along with Hero Arts restocks including Ombre inkpads ;-)
  • SugarPea Design's release that we have been waiting for quite a while for we hope will ship this week if their manufacturing issues are finally sorted.
  • We have just re-ordered massive restocks from Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn but both companies take around 2 weeks to process orders so it won't be with us until the end of April.
  • We have an order in with Avery Elle for massive restocks too but they are waiting on restocks of stamps and hope to ship in a week or 2.
