Getting snappy

My favourite thing from the recent Mama Elephant release was the new polaroid die set as it reminded me of a Christmas gift I loved - a camera that took mini instant photos (you know the way we did before digi!) you could turn into labels.   So for my project today I'm replicating that look with the smaller of the dies in the set.

I die cut 3 frames and then drew around one lightly on some copic colouring card before stamping 3 of the characters from Mama Elephant's In My Heart set - I deliberately picked images that didn't quite fit and stamped them at different angles for interest (also we all know its impossible to get a kid to stand still for a photo right!)  Deliberately cropping images is a good way to stretch your stamps and get a different look.   Once coloured I trimmed them and layered on the frames and then filled the picture with glossy accents for the full-on polaroid look.  Some DP, washi tape and a sentiment from the same stamp set was all that was needed to pull it together into a finished card.

We have an order in with Mama Elephant for their new September mini-release and restocks on some from last month.  Some items were out of stock though so not everything will be back this month but I will keep getting everything back as soon as I can so don't panic!

NEWS FROM THE STORE:

We have big news today, as I can finally reveal the successful applicant from our recent DT call, and without further ado, I am really pleased to say that our new team mate is the very talented Julia Altermann who will be joining us all the way from Germany - our first overseas DT member!

You've probably seen her around on Facebook and on our challenges already as she's been a regular and enthusiastic contributor but if not then you can check out her personal blog here http://just-one-more-card.blogspot.co.uk/    I'm not going to say too much more about her just now - she can introduce herself to you on Saturday when she has her first project to share......    Please do make her welcome.

New Releases and Restocks:

We have some new Paper Smooches goodies which will be in store in a day or so (this is not the brand new Christmas release - sorry but every brand is releasing so many things just now its hard to keep on top of them all.  That will be coming in a couple of weeks)

The Avery Elle Christmas release is on its way and includes storage pockets, the new inks and all the paper pads.

The WPlus9 latest release is coming too - along with some restocks but again they don't have stock themselves on some of the popular items like both Flora and Fauna sets but again I will keep trying to get the back with each new order I place so they will be back eventually.

We have an order in with Altenew who are just waiting on a delivery and should be shipping to us in the next week or two so all their oos products will be in stock by early October.

We will be re-ordering from Lawn Fawn this week so all the oos items from the new release will be coming back soon.

We'll be getting the lastest Hero Arts Christmas release in a couple of weeks too along with restocks on the ink pads - just waiting for restocks to arrive.

That's it for now - see you next Sunday!
