Moments!

Hi there!
Emily has put lots of lovely new stamps onto the website here so who am I  to give up the chance for some new Rubba!

Today's card is made using the fabby new 'Moments' set by Webster's Pages ♥♥♥ them!
I still seem to be in my 'Purple' phase! I've stamped the image with StazOn onto a Nestie shape and water coloured it with my Aqua ProMarkers. The plain card is the largest Nestie, so I had to draw round my printed paper and cut it out! I punched a hole in both sides of the shapes and passed the ribbon through before sticking the image on. The sentiment is stamped with Purple Versafine and clear embossed.

Thank you for looking, I hope you all have a good Monday and I'll catch up with you soon.

The Little Things

Emily has recently had a delivery to the shop of some fabulous new co-branded Itty Bitty stamps and when I saw that some of them were Webster's Pages I couldn't resist!!

I used "The Little Things" to make this card and of course I had to use Webster's Pages papers with it. I chose to use some 6" x 6" Wonderfall papers which I used as a background, lightly distressed and then sewn on to a card background along with a lace trim I stamped the image using sepia Versafine ink on to lightly patterned paper which I mounted on to patterned paper and then layered on the card. The finishing touch was to add a beaded stamen, some flowers and a leaf.

Materials used:
Papermania card, Webster's Pages papers
Itty Bitty stamp (The Little Things), sepia Versafine ink
Wild Orchid Crafts paper roses, beaded stamen, silk leaf, lace.

A bunch of thanks!

Have you seen Emily's new range of Unity Stamps?! If not, you don't know what you're missing! She's got a HUGE selection of gorgeousness including loads of new Itty Bitty and collaborative stamps from Suzi Blu, Bella Blvd, Salt Air and Jilli Bean Soup to name just a few (check them out here, here, here, herehere and here!). Here's a little taste:

Me, like a sensible idiot, set myself a crazy challenge to make 100 cards before I bought any new stash, and boy! am I regretting that decision now!! So in a bid  to get me ever closer to getting my inky little mitts on some of those gorgeous new stamps, I have knocked out five, yes five simple cards using the Itty Bitty 'Thanks A Bunch' stamps:

Hugs and Kisses

Hello.
I'm back today with some more new "Cats Pajamas" to share.
I have used the new ticket die and stamps
both available from Emily here and here.
The die comes with a stencil so you can add colour to the centres of the tickets.
Being clear these stamps are really easy to line up with the die.
Ive sneaked in an ippity stamp for the background.
And used some primas and twine to finish.
Thanks for looking.

Bits and Pieces!

Hi there..........wasn't quite sure what to call this blog post!! I have a couple of really quick and easy cards to show you and an altered little 'suitcase'! So 'Bits and Pieces' it is! I hope you like them :-)
Firstly my cards.........
I really do love ♥♥♥ this set........it is 'The Artist in You' designed by Donna Downey and available from Emily here I decided to go a bit Green with this one! I have just treated myself to a lovely new Green inkpad! I chose a double sided background paper and stamped the beautiful Swirls onto it. The sentiment is stamped onto White cardstock and then coloured with the same Green Inkpad. A bit of ribbon and a flower just finishes it off!

I used the same set to create this really quick and easy card. I stamped the flowers in my new Green and then over stamped with my Royal Purple Ink....I thought it looked a little like Lavender! The mat is actually a printed diecut that came as a freebie which I knew I wouldn't use but couldn't bear to throw away! I've just used the white back to stamp on to! It's coloured with Distress Inks.
Here is my little case.........I think it's finished! I just need to add a Tag and some fibres to the handle. I really just want to show you how versatile these stamps are!

On the back I have used one of the stamps from the 'Quote Bundle'
The case is coloured with Alcohol Inks...it started life as bright Yellow!! I have used my 'She' set on a piece of Stampbord that I have coloured with Alcohol Inks. I have also used one of the sentiments underneath it.

Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good Monday and I'll catch up with you again very soon!

The Right Words....Kraft

Last week I made a card using the fabulous Unity kit - The Right Words (which is currently on sale at a discounted price here) and I'm back again this week with another one. This time I've used kraft cardstock and kept my card clean and simple.

I stamped the sentiment straight on to the cardstock using black ink and then stamped again on to the 2 coloured papers before cutting out the hearts and sticking them on to the card. I embellished using a double sided satin ribbon.

Materials used:
Kraft cardstock, shimmer papers
Unity stamp (as above), black Versafine ink
satin ribbon, black pen.

Shifty Stamping

Last night I sat down to make the title page for my One Little Word album and I thought that some of my favourite the stamps from the All About The Journey kit would work really well with my ornate background paper.

I already had a sheet of cardstock which I'd tested out some of my shimmer mists and stamps on, so I used the section which contained one of the clever quotes from the set as my focal point for the layout.

Shift

You'll also be able to spot another of the map stamps used as a pattern on one of the other cardstock elements. Don't they make a beautiful addition to all the pattern on the page? I'll never get tired of using the stamps from this set - they're so versatile!
Enjoy your weekend x

Wishing You the Sweetest Things

Today I'd like to share with you another card I've made using QKR Stampede's 'Sweet Treats' image.  I really like this image, but i wasn't happy with the way I coloured it last time I used it, so I decided to try something different this time.

I created a patchwork effect background using pieces of paper and card, along with some washi tape.  I then stamped the image using Stazon Ink directly onto this background.  I wanted the image to have a slightly transparent look, so coloured it with pastel pencils, which gave me a nice soft look.

To finish my card I added a border of glitter stickers, a stamped sentiment and some heart gems.

Have a great day

The Artist In You!

Morning!
Today I have a card to show you using one of my new stamps..........oh they are lovely!

I have used 'The Artist in You' designed by Donna Downey and available from the lovely Emily here  I thought I would just use a simple layout as the stamps really do speak for themselves. The background paper is double sided so I used the plainer side to stamp on and matted it onto the printed side and then used 3D foam onto a plain Orange textured card. I've used an Orange gel pen for the faux stitching and distressed the edges. A couple of Prima flowers, twine and some pearly dots and I was done!

I hope you like it, thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you soon.

Mini Valentines

I'm so sorry that I've been 'Missing In Action' for so long. I've had al sorts of computer trouble, but you'll be pleased to know that the first thing I did when I got my laptop back this afternoon was log-on, knuckle down and start sorting out my Make The Day Special post for this afternoon.

I've got quite a bit to share with you all, but since it's Valentine's Day on Monday, I thought I'd better start by sharing my latest little project. Last night I sat down to make some mini cards to send to some of my friends - just a little reminder that I love them too!

Mini Valentines Card

To make a similar card all you need is a card base, a piece of acetate that matches the size of the card front, stazon, sequins, a sewing machine and, of course, your favourite Make The Day Special stamps.

Stamp your image or sentiment (I used the Ippity You Deserve set) into the middle of the acetate using your Stazon and set it aside to dry for a couple of minutes. When the ink dries, place it onto the front of your card and sew around three edges using your sewing machine.

Leave the needle down, through your acetate and cardstock and carefully stuff some sequins through the open edge of the acetate pocket - make sure that they aren't near the edge. Then sew around the edge of the card a couple more times to finish off. Simple!

With the variety of stamps available from Emily at Make The Day Special, you should be able to adapt this idea to all sorts of occasions - enjoy!

Little box of valentines

Hello.
As valentines is creeping up on us i have made something using the,
"Wishes and Kisses" Store kit from Unity.
Store kits are available to pre order every month from Emily
at Make the day special.
I made the little box using two sheets of 6x6 patterned paper.
Then the flower was made using three punched flowers.
I used one of the hearts from the kit and have put it on top of the box using foam pads.
And the "be mine" sentiment was stamped over some little hearts and added inside the box.
Thanks for looking.

You Are Loved

Today I'd like to share with you a card featuring one of my favourite stamps, You Are Loved by Suzi Blu, available at Make The Day Special.  Such a wonderfully quirky image, and such fun to colour. I used Promarkers to colour this image, and a pointillism technique for my background, starting with my darkest colour I added dots around the image randomly, then using a mid range colour add more dots spreading outwards, finally I used my palest colour to add some dots, I left more space the further out from the image I went to try and create some depth.  I like the finished effect, but you could soften it by going over the whole background with a blender pen.
That's it from me for today
Have a great day all
Suzi

Fancy a Summer Treat

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Day at the Seaside, with the Sun shining, and lots of Ice-cream!  Guess we'll have to wait a few months for that, but that's what the image on today's card makes me think of.   This cute image is called 'Summer Treat' by QKR Stampede available in the shop Here.  I stamped the image onto watercolour paper and then coloured with Aquamarkers.  I used a scrap of My Mind's Eye paper for my background, and added a tissue paper circle, some strips of washi tape along with some gems for a little sparkle.
Have a great day all
