A Cute Christmas Wreath

Good morning :0)

You could say my card today is the 'B-side' to my traditional coloured card for our Challenge on Saturday's blog post as I've used the same Paper Smooches set called Jolly Holly and made a wreath in frosty silver and blue...

I've silver embossed the scribbled circle in the set on white card and then cut it out using two circle punches to make a neat inside and outside edge which I could never do with scissors!! ..Lol. You could also use circle dies to do this but my punches were closer to hand :0) The bow is stamped and trimmed out with scissors and then it was just a case of adding gems and wrapping a length of wire around to decorate my wreath..... this picture does it more justice, although still not the same as seeing the wreath in real life...

These cute little wreaths could be easily made up in batches in front of the TV and would also work in other colour ways too... ooooo, I'm thinking how lovely a neutral colour palette would be with tiny wooden stars and a hemp bow *wink*

                                                        Holly Jolly

As I mentioned above, I used this same stamp set for my challenge card this month and went with more traditional colours for a Christmas card. I used Avery Elle pigment inks in Jungle, Celery, Silver Fox and Cherry and I just love how vibrant they are on the Kraft coloured card, the extra details on the images are added using Prisma coloured pencils but this is totally optional. The sentiment is from All Yule Need

This is perfect timing to remind you about the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week and it's Anything Goes so if you use any of your PS stamps or dies in your projects this week don't forget to pop them in the gallery... it's open to crafters from around the globe so I hope you can join in :0)

A Christmas Bauble

Hello there :0)

I'm back with my usual Monday morning Paper Smooches blog post because I'm sharing this card on my own blog for the new PS Sparks challenge. This week it's a sketch and I've gone back to Christmas mode and used the fab set called 'All Yule Need'.

I love contemporary colours at Christmas just as much as the traditional hues and heat embossing the bauble in white just makes that teal colour pop!! The Hot Spots die is actually really good as an interesting background panel especially when using patterned paper and the aperture has white vellum behind it so I could adhere the lettering to it. The sentiment is from a new set of dies by Paper Smooches that will be available to pre-order soon. The large 'Christmas' is in three sections which is why I needed the vellum to help it span the gap.

Thanks for popping by today and don't forget to visit the PS Sparks blog and play along with this weeks challenge :0)

Making Spirits Bright!!

Hello there... hope this Monday finds you feeling bright or do you feel more like this chap on todays card???

Yep, I'm sharing my DT card for the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge with you and this week is a great sketch to inspire your creativity.
I love the expression on this chubby walrus's face .... definitely one I can associate with over the Christmas period, so I had to go with irony and pair him up with this sentiment from Joyful Greetings.

Wrapping the lights around him mean't some fiddly cutting but the pop of glossy colour really is worth while. To tame the twine into behaving how you want it too, try the trick of rubbing on Claudine Helmuth Studio Matt medium with your fingers before shaping and twisting the loops and leave it to dry on a non stick craft sheet.

Stamps used : Chilly Chums, All Yule Need, Joyful Greetings and Shadows.

So if your curious to see this weeks sketch, hop over to the PS Sparks blog and play along with us :0)

Thanks for stopping by, see you next Monday with some Lawn Fawn inspiration!!

Last Minute Christmas cards

Hi everyone... Jenny here :0)

I know we are so close to the big day now and most of you are done with Christmas cards
but I have a few designs to share with you today that I made for my sons
classmates at school..... I haven't had chance to think of anything beyond Christmas this week!!!

I decided to go done the simple route although cutting the reindeer took a while!!
They are 4" square cards, perfect for school friends, here are each design..

I embellished each image with a gem, pom pom or glossy accents and the sentiment was
easy to shape on the acrylic block to fit the design. The pom pom on the snowmans hat was white to start but easily changed with a promarker to match the hat colour :0)

Here are the sets I used..

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy, and hopefully dry, Christmas :0)
I'll be back next week with something other than a Christmas card!!

Thanks for looking

Christmas Reflections

Hi, Jenny here :0)

Pinch and a punch, first day of the month....

..... finally we've had a couple of dry sunny days meaning crisp
frosty mornings which inspired the glistening berries on my festive card today...

Unfortunately glitter dust is a bit camera shy so you can't see the sparkle in this photo....
the berries show up better at this angle :0)

I used the foliage and cluster of three dots from the Paper Smooches 'Reflections' stamp set
and added a bit of dimension to the leaves with coloursoft pencils.
The sentiment is from 'All You Need'

A bit of sparkle has transformed the greenery for a Christmas card, it's such a versatile
stamp set for every season :0)

Have you checked the 'What's New' section on the store recently??
Avery Elle stamps are the newest American stamps in store,
check them out here.... they have a great range of designs :0)

O' Christmas Tree

Morning.. Jenny here :0)

Have you seen the latest Christmas Stamps that Emily has in store?
Today I've used the Paper Smooches sets called All Yule Need and Christmas Sampler to make a simple but colourful Christmas card...

I used a couple of smaller elements from the set with versamark ink to decorate the red panel and the tree is paper pieced using Lawn Fawn Patterned Paper.

Thanks for looking and hope you have time to craft this weekend :0)
