Va Va Voom!

Surprise!
Its Lou here, taking an unusual Saturday-just to keep you on your toes ;-)

Thank you cards. You can never have too many of them knocking around, right? Well today's card is the quickest simplest 'thank you' card ever. EH-VAH! Here it is...

See? Told you ;-) And how CUTE is that little guy?! Bet you don't know which stamp set he is from...Give up? Well, hurry as there is only 1 set left and it wont be coming back,so to get hold of it again will cost you an air fair State side (or some hefty customs ;-) ) He is from Unity's My Dear set, right here, and what a great price for these excellent quality stamps! But hurry! If no one buys this last set,I will be back next week to show you some more ideas on how cute this set is-you have been warned!
 Here he is again...

Hmm,ooh la la! So what other stamps did I use to make this. The shading is from Paper Smooches Positive Strokes (OOS for now,but will be back!) and the sentiment is from the scrummy Mama Elephant Around We Go. Voila!
I hope you like him. Don't forget our new challenge is coming up in a few days :-)

I've kept this card simple and kept it to one layer - I think this works are there is so much detail in the image.  All Unity stamps are really deeply etched in rubber so the quality is amazing.   If you've been following our blog you'll already know that we have an amazing offer of 25% off Unity at the moment!

So her are the sunshine girlies...

..and with just a little diamond glaze over the ladybird to make her shine!

Throwback Thursday

Hello, hello and happy Throwback Thursday folks!

In case you didn't know,it is Goodbye Unity week, where the DT will be showcasing some of their favourite Unity stamps as they bid them farewell. You can find all the shops Unity stamps right here in the discontinued section, and you can add UNITY25 in the discount code at checkout for an awesome 25% off any Unity Itty Bitty or larger set.

Today's card is using the butterfly stamp from the gorgeous Life Becoming set.

I started by stamping the image in Archival onto a watercolour paper square. I spritzed Distress inks onto the butterfly and then misted liberally with water, added some Frantage and heat set it.

Then I stamped the image again onto vellum, heat set it and cut it our. Using alcohol inks I carefully coloured the back of the image (the alcohol with shift the black Archival if used on top of the black,so always colour the underside). I swiped the butterfly through some glitter dust and glued the body onto the card.

I hope it inspires you to go have a look at the true versatility of Unity-this type of card would also look awesome with the Itty Bitty dragonfly here

Have a great day!

Dreams

Hello.
Its Unity week on the blog and sadly once all stock is gone its gone so snap up those bargains :)
I have used this itty bitty stamp called Dreams make em happen.
I have kept it very simple and heat embossed the image and sentiment in white embossing powder.
Then I used peacock feathers, mowed lawn, mustard seed and picked raspberry distress inks with water to make a water colour wash.
Once it had dried i lightly sprayed some glimmer mist so it has a lovely sparkle all over.
Then to finish added 3 small rhinestones.

Dreams make em happenPhoto: Did you see our sale?

Don't forget to just use the code UNITY25  to get your unity discount.
There will be some more inspiration for our challenge so do check back later today.
Thanks for looking.

Ruff day????

Hello there :0)

It's Unity week here on the shop blog and Tara kicked off yesterday with a very cute card and I'm here today to tug at your heartstrings again with this adorable little dawg!!!.....

He's from the itty bitty collection at Unity and he's quite a decent size, I teamed him up with my own sentiment using a Lawn Fawn alphabet. The stamp is called Tail Wagger but with an expression like that I wanted to make his head tilt from side to side so I used a very simple mechanism to make the movement :0)

Here's a short silent video to show the movement, apologies for the quality, uploading videos is a new one for me !!!

I've put together a very basic photo tutorial, it's really not very spohisticated so doesn't need a lot of explaning...

The little dogs head pivots on a black brad through his nose ( ouch!!) which needs to pass through the centre of the circle too. The curved slit is to allow the head to move from side to side but do not make this too large otherwise it will show either side of his head as it moves!!

Attach the dogs head using the brad and use low tack tape to temporarily hold his head in the up-right position whilst you complete the next step...

Flip the panel over and adhere two foam dimensionals stacked together of a small piece if thick chipboard in the middle of the slot

Use the brad to attach the circle to cover and adhere to the foam circles then use a strip of card as a lever. You'll need foam dimensionals to attach the panel to your card base so the mechanism can turn freely.

I think that cute quizzical face and head turn would cheer anyone up :0)
                                                             Tail Wagger
Check out the Unity pages at the store and don't forget to enter the discount code UNITY25 at the checkout!! :0)

Owl Always..Love you!

I know, it sounds like a bad version of that Whitney Houston song (just giving away that I was an 80's girl!).
These two buddies are very cute and from this Itty Bitty set
There's tons you could do with them- I just did a bit of rock'n'roll stamping (gently rocking the edges of a previously inked image onto a darker ink, which is how you get the darker edges to the owls).
They were begging for a 'scene' so I tucked the grass behind the folded banner & slipped them behind there.
I sponged the clouds using a cut out template & then used the template as the cloud as it had a nice amount of ink already on it!

Hope you 'owl' have a lovely Tuesday (sorry, that was bad, wasn't it!),

{Rein}deer friend

Hi! Now that we've seen our first glimpse of snow this year.. and all the family birthdays are past.. I can think of Christmas!  My wish list for crafty goodies gets longer and longer but luckily I already have two fabby sets from Unity and Paper Smooches!  I just love this little guy!

I love this combination of blue and brown.. with some silver sparkle and glitter.. and, of course, a sparkly red nose!
The sets used for this card are multi-seasonal.. Deer Friend from Unity, and Gently Seasoned by Paper Smooches.  Two wonderfully versatile sets (Deer Friend comes with a non-Christmas greeting!)
I hope you like it!

You Made My Day

Hello! It's my Saturday turn again and I thought this time I would try keeping it simple and make a little card to express gratitude with a little extra "really"!
I love all the greetings by Avery Elle - the quality of the stamps is second to none - and the font works so well with different styles of cards.  So here it is...

The heart is from the Create Today set by Unity.  Again, the quality of the image is perfect.  This is a lovely set with wonderful sentiments which are truly from the heart.

Hope you like it!

Christmas Wreath!

Good morning! Yay; managed to post in the morning!
Is it too early to post about Christmas? Will you throttle me?
I did warn you if you didn't clean the shop out of Harvest of Memories, that I'd be back with a Christmas one.. so ta daaa!
I've been surprised at how versatile this set is.. just look..
I've not even got around to focussing on the bigger stamps yet!
The poinsettias are made from the leaves too- just trimming of the stem portions and adhering two together. Just shows how fab those 5 little plain leaves are. I'd die-cut a circle out of the card & made a 'hoop' out of cardstock to mount the leaves on, which meant I could easily raise the wreath off the card blank too.
Having been Christmas crafting for some months now, I'm getting ready for the next 'occasion'. That might well be Easter or Valentines. Maybe I just might do this set again next week ?

Well- better vamoosh!

See you next Tuesday,

Hanging Leaves !

Hey! How are you all? I'm popping by with another card using the set from last week.
I'm quite smitten by all those leaves & rather than imitate movement, I thought I'd suspend them on thread & hang them from a thin rectangle of card.
By simply adding two layers of 3D foam pads- there's enough clearance for them to 'float' and give the impression of falling.
I've used this Unity set 'Harvest of Memories'

It's a wonderful set- if you don't go and clear and the store out of this gorgeous set- I'll do a Christmas themed card next time!

Happy creating!

Autumn Thanks!

Good morning- or should I say Afternoon!
It's a little blowy & the leaves are falling & it made me think of this set.

and yes, I did cut out EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE LEAVES!
and no, my hand is fine- I just watched TV whilst I was doing it. Cutting out the leaves was far more interesting and is strangely therapeutic.
I love the riot of colour & just making a feature of such small stamps in the set! Wish my back garden looked just as pretty!
Well, better fly off,
plenty more crafting to do.. keep an eye out on here.. rumours have it that an exciting chance to pre-order is about to present itself!

Happy Tuesday, and Happy Autumn,

5 minute Tag!

Hey! Hope you're all ok.
Today I'm speeding in and out.
We're all a bit time-poor often & this morning is no exception!
My daughter phoned to ask for her locker key which she'd left at home- before I could run back to school, I needed to attach the key to something so it didn't get lost.
I couldn't pass up the chance to stamp and so this whole tag was completed in just over 3mins from start to finish.
Sometimes super speedy is ok.

The set is a beautiful Unity one called Harvest of Memories and as Autumn looks like its fully ensconced in the current seasons armchair, we may as well start to embrace it!
Here's the set.
Just beautiful isn't it!

Well, am speeding off,
enjoy your day!

Sketchy Unity and Quiet Essence

Good morning y'all! This is a card using two sets of lovely Unity stamps. The first set is a gentle lovely one called 'Quiet Essence' and I've added the Itty Bitty set 'Tell Me More'.
The fab news is that they're both in stock and just pootle over to the store and get yours!

 Quiet Essence looks like this:

It's gorgeous isn't it. You can get it from the Unity section.

The Tell Me More stamp is one of the bargain priced Itty Bitty single stamps and looks like this
I've made this card in response to the Unity Challenge blog. It's a great idea to join in with these as they're great for kick starting those 'minus the mojo moments'. If you want to join in, you kinda need the stamps- but then, you knew that already!
Treat yourself to a set and join in- who knows- you might even win ;-)

See you soon,

Happiness is having wings!

Just when you thought it was safe- I've popped in this Thursday. I've created the base for this card using this stamp..
Sadly the little butterflies which were part of another Itty Bitty are OOS- but you could get the same look with this little set.
With both sets at only £4.20 each-they're really rather a steal. I've done some hole pricking and sewing as you can see here & just stamped the butterfly several times in different colours & chopped up part of a sentiment.
The paper is from a Lawn Fawn set & you get the chevron styled bakers twine with some of the Lawn Fawn twine here
Well I suppose I'd better fly off- you do need wings sometimes- hoping you each have a set today. See you next... I might say Tuesday, but then we do like to keep you guessing!!

Dreams of books

I seem to be overrun with cards and tags so decided to make a bookmark for today's post as I'm always needing more of them, with books lying all around the house!!

I started with a base of watercolour paper which I sprayed with Dylusions inks and then stamped the image from Unity's Love Life stamp set using black Memento ink. I then doodled around the edges using Posca paint pens and added a ribbon:

Hope you're having a wonderful day where you are and thanks for visiting!

The secret......

A bit late with this week's card as it's my first bit of crafting this week due to our school summer fayre!

I've used one of my favourite co-ordinating colour schemes of orange and turquoise and dug out my embossing folders.

The sentiment is from Unity's "The Right Words" store kit and stamped using Versamagic chalk ink on to Coredinations cardstock with the heart shaded in with a pastel pencil.

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and as always, thanks for visiting!

Friendship Tag............

Hi there.......

She  here to show you my latest make...........

I have used a couple of Unity kits for my Tag........

My Quote came from 'The Right Words' and my gorgeous Butterfly and Key background are from the 'Key To Joy'  kit........

It's no secret that my favourite colour is Orange!!! Always makes me smile :-).......So I started with that as my base.........my favourite and most used Distress Ink colours were used for my base. I then stamped the Keys with Aged Mahogany. After making sure this was dry I ran it through my bug in one of my embossing folders.

I had half a Tag left from another make (don't ask!! I never throw anything away!!) this was already stamped and coloured so I used my gorgeous Butterfly and then glamour dusted him.....Don't like glitter, so this is great as it gives just a hint of bling!!

I just added some ribbon and Liquid Pearl blobs and squiggles!

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon......

Watercolours

I've been busy this week helping to organise our school fair that's happening next week so only had time to make a quick card (well, two quick cards) today.

I've dragged out my neglected Marvy pens and used them to ink up the flower stamp from Unity's Moment's In Bloom kit before spritzing with water and stamping on to watercolour paper.

I also used the pens to ink the sentiment stamps from Unity's The Right Words and Life Becoming but stamped these without spritzing.

As always, thanks for visiting

Behind the mask

Today I've been playing with some masking tape and chalk inks to make a couple of Unity cards.

I used the Christy Tomlinson Urban Chevron stamp for the card on the left and the sentiment on the right card is from the Bold Insight store kit.

I've then added stickers and a die-cut to embellish.

Now I'm off to try some more masking and inking.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and, as always, thanks for visiting!
