Grow Your Wings!

Hi there, what another beautiful day!
I want to share one of my favourite things today...made with some of my favourite stamps! An Inky Stampy Tag!
This Tag is HUGE!!...Must measure and take a template before I use the last one, as I have no idea where I got them from!!
I have used 'Life Becoming' one of the Unity Store kits, available from the lovely Emily here and of course my very favourite kit 'The Artist In You'  available here had to make an appearance!!! I 'swooshed' some Distress Inks onto my craft sheet and sprayed water onto them and then dipped my Tag in several times, drying between each layer with my heat tool....
The images are all clear embossed (well it wouldn't be me if they weren't, would it??!!) I put the ribbon between 2 metal holders a little way from the bottom as I had a gap between the leaves and the foliage stamps!
I have gone over the Tag with Perfect Pearls, which gives it a lovely shimmery effect..which can't be seen too well in the photo...
The Butterfly is coloured with the Perfect Pearls...just made a paint of them with my water brush...
I just added some Primas and a little Glossy Accents and I was done!
I hope you like it, thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.....Enjoy the sunshine!!

Life Becoming!

Morning! What a lovely Monday morning it is too....
Today I'd like to show you  a really quick and easy card...

I have used 2 of the Unity Store Kits, 'Life Becoming' and 'Quiet Essence' available from the lovely Emily here  I started with a 6"x6" card blank and covered it with patterned paper (I think PaperMania) and I used the lovely Scroll stamp from my most favourite kit...'The Artist In You', again available from Emily here stamped in Sage Distress Ink...I really don't know what I'd do without this kit, it's so useful! The Frame is stamped and embossed and I've just stamped and clear embossed the Sentiment. The Flower is stamped on to printed paper (K&CO this time!) twice and layered, with just a little Glossy Accents in the middle..

It is ages since I shared an Inky project with you....so I thought I'd share a Tag today....

I had so much fun making this! Didn't have any idea what I had in mind when I started, just knew which stamps and inks I wanted to use! I have used the very same kits as in the card....see that Scroll has made another appearance! I stamped and clear embossed the background stamp and one of the Flowers, then coloured all over with Distress Stains and blended Distress Inks over the top. I then 'water splattered' stamped the Bird and embossed again! The Flower is stamped onto the same paper as before and layered.
I have just embossed the Scrolls and top of the Tag with White embossing powder. All that was left was to add some ribbon!
And there you have it! Two different things using the same stamps! I love how versatile Unity stamps are!

Thanks for looking, have a good Monday and I'll see you soon.

Quiet Essence!

Hi there from a very wet and chilly Stockport!! Can't believe we are in 'Summer'!!
I have a card to show you today, that I have made using the Unity Store kit 'Quiet Essence' available from the lovely Emily here
I love this set and I've used it quite a few times, but unusually not the Flower! It's lovely isn't it? So easy to cut out, even for a 'scissor challenged' person such as myself!! Before I covered the card blank...(it's 6"x6") with some pretty background paper, I stamped and embossed one of the sentiments, but felt the paper still needed something else...so I reached for my all time favourite stamp set...'The Artist In You' again available from Emily here  this set is so useful, I automatically reach for it now! I stamped and embossed the Flourish down the side.
I stamped and cut out the background stamp and then stamped and coloured my flower twice and cut out the centre of the flower and 3D it with some silicone glue. All that was needed to finish were some satin ribbon and gems...

Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good Monday and I'll catch up with you soon.

Alcohol Inked!

Morning from a very cold and drizzly Stockport!

Today I want to share one of those cards we need to make, but never want to.......a Sympathy card.
I used my favourite kit 'The Artist In You' available from the lovely Emily here this set really is useful and lends itself to so many cards. I also used 'With Sympathy' also available from Emily here

I have Alcohol Inked some Gloss card to stamp on.......I used Blues and Greens to try and give it a 'natural' look with a bit of Yellow thrown in! Then I just stamped the images with Black Archival. The little sentiment  is stamped onto 'ordinary' White card and then I've coloured it with Distress Stains. Matted onto Black and then White card.

Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a lovely start to the week.....I'll see you again very soon.

One Set, Three Ways!

Morning, hope you are all having a good Easter and eating lots of Choccy!

I like to try and get as much mileage as I can out of my stamps, sometimes it works and sometimes I always just have to have that Rubba!

Today I'd like to show you how I used One stamp set Three ways!

I have used, I think one of my most favourite stamp sets.....'The Artist In You' by Donna Downey. Available in the UK from the lovely Emily here

First up is my first card.......

Using my very favourite 'Browny' shades! The backing paper had a lighter stripe down the centre of it, so I used this to stamp and emboss the sentiment on. I stitched (albeit not very straight!!) around the words and around the backing paper and then inked the edges. When I looked at the flowers, for some reason I thought of Buttons.........who knows how my mind works!!! so I had a little rummage and found some Brown buttons to add. A little bit of Glossy Accents to highlight and some ribbon and I was done!

I decided to go a bit 'Monochromatic' with my 2nd card :-) Love Black and White! Really simple, but I think effective card......sentiment just stamped and embossed and then matted onto Black and then Black and White paper, all I needed were some flowers and little gems to finish.
I couldn't have these stamps out and not make a Tag, could I?? Really easy again!! I just stamped the leaves with 2 different colours of ink, embossed and then coloured with my little VersaMagic Chalk inks. I then just overstamped with the Scroll stamp and added some flowers and fibres, oh and the ever present Glossy Accents!
Thanks for looking, I hope you have an enjoyable Bank Holiday :-) and I hope you enjoyed my 'variations on a Theme!'

I'll catch up with you again soon, I hope.

I 'Heart' You!

Morning!
Didn't really know what to call the title of this post!!  I have a Bisque Heart to share with you today :-)
In my haste and excitement to try something new to me I didn't take any 'before' photos!
But this was a plain ceramic heart before I started! I applied 2 different colours of Acrylic paint to the base (I used the little Tester pots!) then a slightly darker shade over the top.I then applied a couple of drops of blending solution and started stamping!
I used one of my most favourite sets 'The Artist In You', available from the lovely Emily here
I stamped the 'Leafy' stamps in VersaMark and then applied Perfect Pearls over the top. The words are stamped in Black VersaFine.
I then just went a bit made with the clear embossing powder!! I just carried on until I got a nice shiny surface! The little tag is a little wooden one I have had lying around for ages! It got more or less the same treatment......and I added Distress Ink round the edges!
Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good Monday. Tis lovely here, the sun is shining, I think Spring has finally 'sprung'!!!!

Bits and Pieces!

Hi there..........wasn't quite sure what to call this blog post!! I have a couple of really quick and easy cards to show you and an altered little 'suitcase'! So 'Bits and Pieces' it is! I hope you like them :-)
Firstly my cards.........
I really do love ♥♥♥ this set........it is 'The Artist in You' designed by Donna Downey and available from Emily here I decided to go a bit Green with this one! I have just treated myself to a lovely new Green inkpad! I chose a double sided background paper and stamped the beautiful Swirls onto it. The sentiment is stamped onto White cardstock and then coloured with the same Green Inkpad. A bit of ribbon and a flower just finishes it off!

I used the same set to create this really quick and easy card. I stamped the flowers in my new Green and then over stamped with my Royal Purple Ink....I thought it looked a little like Lavender! The mat is actually a printed diecut that came as a freebie which I knew I wouldn't use but couldn't bear to throw away! I've just used the white back to stamp on to! It's coloured with Distress Inks.
Here is my little case.........I think it's finished! I just need to add a Tag and some fibres to the handle. I really just want to show you how versatile these stamps are!

On the back I have used one of the stamps from the 'Quote Bundle'
The case is coloured with Alcohol Inks...it started life as bright Yellow!! I have used my 'She' set on a piece of Stampbord that I have coloured with Alcohol Inks. I have also used one of the sentiments underneath it.

Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good Monday and I'll catch up with you again very soon!

The Artist In You!

Morning!
Today I have a card to show you using one of my new stamps..........oh they are lovely!

I have used 'The Artist in You' designed by Donna Downey and available from the lovely Emily here  I thought I would just use a simple layout as the stamps really do speak for themselves. The background paper is double sided so I used the plainer side to stamp on and matted it onto the printed side and then used 3D foam onto a plain Orange textured card. I've used an Orange gel pen for the faux stitching and distressed the edges. A couple of Prima flowers, twine and some pearly dots and I was done!

I hope you like it, thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you soon.
