Christmas Mojo!..or lack of it!

 Hey! I had grand plans.
They went a little awry. Awry on account of a slipping mojo.
Turns out I wasn't totally happy with what I'd done- so binned it.
It was unsaveable.
This fared a little better using this fab set
I got playing with this Waffleflower set 'Holiday Labels- Merry' and immediately spied the potential for a little faux subway art in the shape of a Christmas tree. Yes, I know the chalkboard trend was about 2 years ago- but it's still hanging around- and I've not really given it a proper chalkboard look but just gone with the basics.

Once I'd finished it.. it looked rather..unfinished!
I got my trusty white gel pen out & simply joined the adhesive gems together with a dotted line- these had serendipitously been arranged perfectly for that (love my random subconscious sometimes!!) and it seemed to go a little better.
My second card didn't go to plan either- I wanted lovely sparkly snowflakes & dug out some old holographic embossing powder.
Should have known better really- should have used some heat and bond type powder with this luscious pot

See the 'rope twist' on the label shape? Created with some dashes of the gel pen. What we would we do without those?
Ahh well- I'm hoping to create some little tag packs for wrapping Christmas gifts with this set. Do go and explore the new stock- there's a ton of amazing stuff here

See you next week,

Keren xx

Throwback and chalky Thursday

Hi all :-)

Ready for another Throwback Thursday?
Today I am testing out the new Avery Elle pigment ink in Pure White to see how it fairs in the chalkboard test :-D
First up,I wanted to make a background using the gorgeous Unity Itty Bitty Born an Original, which is a great alternative to some of the pricier rose sets around. Its a great size, like all the Itty Bitty's,and makes a great background stamp.

I love how this turned out and can't wait to get a layout on it for the scrapbook. As a grunge fan,I wanted it to be a bit 'grubby',so in with some smudging.

The ink is beautifully juicy and vivid-I'm hooked!

I didnt stop there,oh no. I made an Easter card with the not-so-throwback Avery Elle Happy Spring. I love this set sooo much (swoon, sigh, swoon)

So,there is the white. It is super juicy, super vivid and just plain super :-)

Frankly,My dear...

Hello!
Wow,we are having April weather over here in sunny/showery Cambridgeshire! Here's hoping for some rainbows as pretty as Girl Friday Lydia yesterdays card :-)

Sorry for the lunchtime post-toddler mayhem reined supreme this morning, but it has gone quiet now (I don't know whether to celebrate or panic-toddler silence is not usually a good sign lol ;-) ) But here is my Saturday card. Celebrating the arrival of the new release and re-stocks of gorgeous CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, here is a slightly older set,but one of my absolute faves-Frankly.

As a non naturally CAS girl,I went for a chalkboard look and finished the card with my new best friend die,the Avery Elle Embellish It Flower and a scrap of Lawn Fawn twine

Hope you like it,and go have a look at those lush CAS-ual Fridays stamps, they are super versatile.

Chalkboard Tags!

Good afternoon- wow it's getting scarily closer. I'm so not ready. I've arm knitting and felted soaps and all sorts to make yet. I thought I was organised!! Obviously not.
One thing that we all need tons of are tags. Whether they're being strapped to a present, slung around the neck of a bottle or festooning a gift bag, I never seem to have enough.
I'm using one of my favourite looks- the chalkboard style. I still love it from last year and the trend for it seems not to be abating in a hurry. I haven't even contrasted the white using embossing and normal stamping. There's not even any white shadowing. I've gone for quick and simple.
White stamping.
White smudged ink.
White gel pen picking out highlights.
Easy & fast.

Hope you're getting organised.. I'd love any tips!

See you soon (although I may have to be really organised if I'm going to be posting on Christmas Eve (ha ha)

Happy stamping!
