Floral thanks

 Hello.
You may have seen Jenny's fab card on Monday with her super argyle stamping.
Today i have used the same set but in a different way.

I started by masking the top section of my card base.
I then stamped the lines from the argyle backdrops stamp set (currently on sale ) and filled with pink and yellow inks from Avery Elle.
Once that was done i used the Belinda's borders set and just stamped an extra line to make the argyle section look more finished.

I stamped the smaller flower and flourish from Judy's blooms onto the  card base and then again twice more onto some white card.
They were coloured with copics in colours to match the patterned section then fussy cut and adhered to the card.
Before i added the flowers i added some ink splashes to the card.
To finish i used some sequins.

Project Life DIY!!!

Hi there :0) I have something a bit different today!!

I've been pondering around the idea of starting a project life album, those fabulous core card kits look just so scrummy and the thought of speedy scrapbooking is attractive too :0)
When you actually look at the designs in some of those kits though I couldn't help thinking I could use the stamps I already have to make my own.....

I'm a bit of a procrastinator so knowing which photos to start with was hopeless so I thought I'd just get some ideas for core and journal cards out of my head and into real life and hopefully the photos and album will come later :0)

These two are cut with the Lawn Fawn 3x4 journal card die and I've used the tandem from Roll With It the solid speech bubble negative stamp from Oh Yeah and the wording is from Paper Smooches set called Captured Moments which is an ideal set for scrapbooking :0)

This one is cut using the larger Lawn Fawn Journal card die and stamped with the typewriter from Just A Note and the scroll of paper is stamped on white card, cut out and inserted through a slit in the top of the typewriter. The wording is again from Paper Smooches Captured Moments stamp set .... I was leaving the left handside for a photo or journaling :0)

These last two are cut using dies from My Favourite Things but to be honest you don't really need fancy dies as long as you have a ruler and a craft knife... a corner rounder is an optional extra!! I've used the long and short brushstrokes from Avery Elle's Brushed on both of these cards... the long one makes a great striped background for that sketchy camera in #Smile and I used a versamark pen to colour the heart with sticky ink before adding gold embossing for a touch of glamour :0) The torn edge notecard has been stamped with Lawn fawns SchoolHouse Backdrops for the lined paper look and the Hello is from the same Avery Elle set mentioned above :0)

If Project Life or pocket scrapbooking is somethng you've thought about trying I encourage you to take a look at your stamps and see what designs you could turn them into, you'll have a great time being creative and making your pages even more personal :0)

Oh and before I go just a quick reminder it's an Anything Goes challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks this week, here's my DT card for this week featuring the mad scientist from Great Chemistry. Please pop over and see the DT inspiration and play along too, it would be great to see you in the gallery :0)

Chalkboard Love!!

Hello again, I'm popping up on a Tues as well this week!!!
Whilst flicking through my Lawn Fawn stamps recently I saw the Chalkboard in the 'A Good Apple' set and I thought I team it up with the 'Science of Love' set and this is the result.....

I've used dark green card for the blackboard and then stamped and embossed the birds and sentiment in white, just adding a bit of colour to the birdies to look like coloured chalk. The hearts are embossed in red.

To make an authentique chalkboard look try dabbing a piece of tissue or a dry baby wipe in some white pigment ink and lightly smear it on the dark card... it's best to practice on some scrap card first so you know how much ink and pressure to use :0)

To space the sentiment out under the birds I cut the acrylic stamp apart into three pieces... this doesn't affect the image as long as you are careful with your scissors and you can easily fit it back together again for future use :0)

Not sure if you can see the stamping on the card base as it's quite subtle in the bright daylight but I've used the School House Backdrops to make lined paper and then using the same light blue ink I've stamped the flasks, test-tubes and calculator randomly around the edges.

I know we've left Valentines day behind now but you don't need a special day to show someone some love do you :0)

I'm going to pop this in at the Lawnscaping challenge later, it's to use Embossing this time around if you want to join in too :0)

Out of this universe

Hello.
Its finally the end of the school year.
I have been busy making the last of my teacher thank you cards.

Something not school related but hopefully appreciated.
My daughter thinks a lot of her teacher so this seemed perfect.

This one is similar to an earlier card from Jenny.
I wanted something similar but to look like a chalkboard.
I bet many of our kids only have whiteboards now and wont have clue what this is about haha.
All images were coloured in using Copics.

Stamp sets used are.....

A Lightbulb Moment!!

It's the start of the weekend and it looks like it's going to be a hot and sunny one here in the UK.... yippeee :0)

It's also exam season and with my daughter starting her A levels this week I thought I would make a card for her just to show how much we care and believe in her ability to get the grades she needs for uni :0)

I have gone back to one of my favourites again...Lawn Fawn, and used the lightbulb image from 'How Delightful' to make a 'punny' encouragement card....

With clear powder and Versamark  ink, I embossed a row of clear bulbs on white card and then used the emboss resist technique on a scrap of yellow card to get the bright bulb in the dark by using black ink.
You can just about make out I've used School House Backdrops to give a lined paper effect to go with the notebook top to the panel.

You can see the subtle shine to the embossed lightbulbs when they catch the light :0

I continued the message and theme inside using Jessie's ABC's and the lightbulb image again.

The Lawn Fawn sets used are: Schoolhouse Backdrops, How Delightful, Lunar Lights and Jessie's ABCs

Thanks for you patience whilst Emily re-vamps the store website, for news of it's re-opening please keep an eye the Facebook page or here, on the blog :0)

So glad you could drop by
