Framed Foliage

Hello there,
I was so excited to receive my parcel of goodies from the store on Saturday which included the new dies from Altenew to match the Doodle Blooms stamp set.... I had to get them into use :)

The foliage and flowers are stamped in grey ink onto water colour card and I used my Inktense pencils for a change to colour them in.....they've not seen the light of day for a few weeks!! This set is brilliant for building your own floral displays with numerous leafy sprigs and flowers, now it has matching dies you can become an expert flower arranger as well ...Lol :) The dies are really easy to line up and cut with ease, there's also a nice margin depth around the image....not too deep.

I took my inspiration from a couple of challenges and used a Paper Smooches Scalloped Frame to display my climbing flowers in. The linear background was made using a stamp from Mama Elephants Basic Borders, I actually quite like how the lines are a little broken up.... adds a rustic feel, and the sentiment is from Avery Elles Hand Written Notes.

Hey Chickie!

Hi!  I thought I would start off the new year with an old favourite of mine. In fact this is the stamp set that got me hooked on Paper Smooches!  This is Chubby Chums! I love the cute images in this set and they are just perfect for colouring with Copics or ProMarkers,   I've teamed this cute little chick up with Mama Elephant Basic Borders - another really versatile set!

And now that Christmas is over... we have Easter chicks and chocolate eggs to look forward to!  I think they are starting to appear in the shops already!

Hope you like it!

Christmas Candles

Helloooo there :0)

I'm probably one of the few that haven't finished my Christmas cards for this year... trouble is all these lovely seasonal stamp sets keep tempting me then I have too many to choose from!!!

One of the few remaining Christmas sets in store from Wplus9 is the Merry and Bright set that Tara showed you yesterday and it really is fun to play with.....

I find the best way to work with these two-step stamp sets is to die cut all the elements and stamp them out before starting a spot of flower arranging.... any pieces you don't use can be stored in with the stamps or dies for another time. They are quite easy to line up but any small error in placement is also forgiving... after all mother nature isn't into carbon copy perfection :0)
The embossed stripes of gold are from the Mama Elephant Basic Borders.... I'm not much into gold but a little at Christmas time is okay with me :0)

I bet most of you have finished your cards now and some even written and sent them!!... I'll plod on until the Christmas Spirit taps me on the shoulder and tells me to get a wiggle on!!!

See you next Monday.... hopefully with gift packaging ideas :0)

You're the Best!

Hi everyone!  I've been busy playing with sets from a mix of companies this week - variety is the spice of life so they say!

I have the Love Birds stamps and matching dies from WPlus9. I love these! But I've not had much time to play with them so far.. so I thought I would use these for the main focus of my card this week. I've used the stems in the set to create a dark silhouette against an inked background - then just added the die cut bird as if he's gently perched on top.
The background stamps are from Mama Elephant Basic Borders (this is such a versatile set!), and the greeting is Avery Elle Handwritten notes (I love this font and the clear/crisp image you get!)
I hope you like it!

Fabulous!

Hi! I've gone for a spot of fabulousness that could be used for a guy.  Taking advantage of the time to play with two new sets from Mama Elephant

Kept the colours quite masculine but this would also work really well in girly themed colours.   The stamp sets are Hello and Basic Borders.  Nothing too complex.. just enough to get the message across!

Basic Borders is a fabby set - with Washi Tape being so on trend at the moment this set is very flexible - there are larger borders or thin borders - stamped and cut out on either paper or vellum gives you an instant washi look!
Hope you like!
