Hello Baby Girl

Hi there and happy Thursday! Lydia here with you today and I have a super sweet baby card to share with you today, and although this one is for a baby girl by just switching the papers out for shades of blue it could quite easily be for a baby boy.

For the stamped sentiment and cute little paper-pieced bunny I have used Lawn Fawn 'Hello Baby'. Isn't that bunny the sweetest stamped onto the same paper from the background?!?!

The 'baby' I cut using Louie's ABC, I cut the word twice once from white card and also from some pink patterned paper. I layered the white sightly off-setting the pink to create a pink shadow effect. For the scalloped panel I used the midi size of the Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Scalloped Borders' I just love these to add a bit of detail and interest to an edge.

Thank you so much for popping by!

Hugs Lydia xxx

Happy (Escape) New Job....

Hey! How are you all?
Ok.. this card will take a little bit of explaining.
It all started as I was thinking about the Lawn Fawn Ready Set Snow Shaker die set. It's temporarily out of stock but this die will work perfectly instead.
I got thinking about snow globes in general and about the poor little people and animals who are permanently stuck inside the globe and can't get out. This led me to thinking it would be fun if they made a bid for freedom and so the 'new job...escape from the old job' idea came into being.
I was explaining the idea to one of my daughters and she looked at me and said 'Mum are you doing drugs?!!
Well I wasn't, but granted, it's a slightly 'out there' idea!
I had so much fun creating the scene. You wouldn't believe quite how many different Lawn Fawn sets I've used...
How many can you see?

Here goes.... Milos' ABC's ( for the sentiment)
Thankyou Tags (for the diddy bird)
Joy To The Woods (for the bird, chipmunk and fox)
Hello Baby (for the little rabbit)
Happy Trails (for the trees and the landscape line)
And last.. but not least..Penelope's Blossoms

AND they're ALL in stock. Every single set!
I hope you like my little furry friends sliding down the outside of the snow globe. I had to choose the smallest critters so they'd look more in proportion with the globe!
Anyhow, enough from me.
Hope you have a lovely and sane Tuesday!

I'll be back next week with maybe something a little more sensible (although I wouldn't hold your breath!)

Flirty Bunny!

Hi! Hope you've all had a lovely Easter weekend. I have a question for you…..Can bunnies be flirty?
This one looks a little coy!
I've got out Hello Baby and mixed it with Flirty Frames…(get the question now?!)
You can see the background- I've stamped on acetate which is one of my favourite surfaces to stamp on. I've used Stazon Opaque Cotton White which is a much easier ink to get a result from- it doesn't slip as easily as the normal Stazon colours

I've sneaked in the foliage from Stuck on You and tied it all together using the focus in one small area and stacking the elements over each other.

A simple card that you could utilise for a 'happy Spring', a Birthday, or something more. The frames set is so brilliant- you need to get it before someone else rushes in and swipes it from the store!

See you next week..

PS- for those of you lovely girls who answered my question- I'd taken the photograph before the glue had dried properly.. if you check out the sequins in last weeks post, you'll see what I mean! xx

Little prince

Hello.
I am having a break from Christmas things this week instead going with something cute from lawn fawn.
I had this cute little frog inked up for a while and thought it was time to finally put him on a card.
I made the background on textured card with distress inks.
Then stamped the lily pads in mowed lawn distress ink and used a green distress marker  for the shading around the bottom.
I added the frog on some foam tape after i had stamped the sentiment in black archival ink.
I stamped the stars in yellow ink but as it doesn't show too well i added some gold stickles.
The panel was then mounted on some patterned paper before i adhered it to my card base.

Hello Baby

Thanks for looking.

Throwback Thursday

Hello!
Happy nearly weekend day!

Todays card was inspired by 'that' John Lewis advert last year, you know the one-hare and bear? Well as soon as I saw Lawn Fawn's Hello Baby and Love you S'more ,it made me think of those two

They are too cute! I stamped onto watercolour paper with Archival ink, then watercoloured them with distress inks. I gave bunny a 'fluffy' tail using some puff-pen and mounted the card on to script paper

I wanted to keep the middle of the hill paler so it didn't dominate the card with green.
I am looking forward to this years John Lewis commercial-they always are a tear jerker for me!
Have a great Thursday, see you next week!

It's all about babies.....

My card making this week has been all about babies as we have an impending birth in the family and then a friend wanted a new baby card making so I thought I'd share my take on a before and after baby card  in one post ;-)

For the "one on the way" I went with Lawn Fawn's Plus One set for the fabulously funny "bun in the oven" image which I just love!

Other than a couple of strips of DP, there was little else required for this card than the great sentiments that come in the set.  I coloured the image with copics and added glossy accents for a realistic looking oven door and popped the cut out image (matching dies are available but I went for the fussy approach) up on foam tape.

For the new arrival I went to Lawn Fawn again but threw in a little Winnie and Walter too - don't stick to the one stamp set or even one brand when you're getting creative - mix and match for a unique result!   I used one little bunny image from Hello Baby and then made a custom sentiment with Milo's ABCs (currently oos but will be back in a couple of weeks and any alphabet set would work here anyhow I just went with what I had to hand) paired with the large Hello from The Big, the Bold and the Happy (again any Hello sentiment would work here or a die cut would work here)

The background to the card is various bits of pink DP from my scraps stash.  I cut a banner using the lovely Mama Elephant bold banner die* and stuck it temporarily to a die cut pink circle before stamping my sentiment in embossing ink.  I separated them before heating to prevent warping and then lined them back up before adhering permanently.  To add depth to the centre, rather than using foam tape I simply cut 3 circles with the same die from thick white card and stacked them up - this gave the right thickness for the banner die to sit nicely on the card.  The bunny was stamped in grey and coloured lightly with copics and then I finished with a few embossed hearts from the Hello Baby set.

[*Please note if you want the banner die grab one now - once they sell out, they will ONLY be available as part of the basic die set and not individually]

I'll be back again tomorrow - sorry if you're fed up of me already - a new DT member will be coming soon I promise - I just need a little longer to review all the applications.....

Some bunny ....

Loves you.
My card for today is a complete Lawn fawn fest :)

I used the bunnies from Hello Baby, for the focal image and as a cute extra inside my card.  The papers and dies are currently out of stock, but word on the street is that there is a pretty MASSIVE restock coming along with the fabby new release later this month.....
