Today's card is made using stamps from the Tea Party set by My Cute Stamp, available here. These stamps really are so cute! I stamped the images with Memento and coloured in with Copics then added some SU Diamond Dust for a bit of sparkle. The bps are by Joanna Sheen and DCWV, and I used sticky lace and Primas to embellish and butterflies punched with my Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is unknown, from my stash!
Materials used
Stamps - My Cute Stamp, unknown sentiment
Inks - Copics, Memento
Papers - DCWV, Joanna Sheen
Other - Primas, sticky lace, Liquid Pearls, SU Diamond Dust, Martha Steward punch

Its Competition Time - Holidays
this post will stay at the top until Saturday please scroll down
Hi everyone, its time for the first ever Make the Day Special challenge!
Would you like to win some stamps???

What you have to do:
As the long summer holidays have just started my mind and a lot of other peoples' are thinking about sun, sea, sand, ice creams and what do you do with bored kids for six weeks, but that last one does not make for card/scrapbooking inspiration, lol. To take part in the competition you need to make an item, anything you like, along the theme of holidays. The rules are that it MUST include stamping of some kind and must be made by you! You do not have to use our stamps but if you do your name will be entered twice. Winner will be chosen at random on Saturday 31st July. Please link up to your blog or online gallery bellow, if you don't have either and want to enter, email your entry to me at emily@makethedayspecial.co.uk
Do invite your friends to take part, the more people who join in the better, we all love checking out other peoples work!!!
The prize is a selection of gorgeous stamps from Unity....
I look forward to seeing all your entries,
Emily x

Friends With Flair Blog Hop
Hello everyone,
My make for the blog hop today is a card and notebook using stamps from the July store kit.

I like the sentiments in this set as they could be used for lots of occasions. In this instance I've gone very girly... I've been after this paper for a while and I could resist no longer!

Thank you for popping in enjoy the rest of the hop

Bee Happy!
I have some ATCs to share with you which I made using the bee from a My Cute stamps set from Make the Day special.
Emily has some adorable My Cute Stamps set in the shop, including some Christmas sets if you are starting your Christmas cards early! These ATCs are for a 'Things with wings' themed swap and this smiley little bee was perfect for my Bee Happy sentiment!
Have a lovely Friday!

Combining Different Stamps
Got something a little different today and something that uses a mix of stamps to hopefully inspire you into thinking of ways to combine the different stamps you have been accumulating!
I've seen a lot of mail art on different blogs recently and wanted to have a go myself so here is my attempt at decorating an envelope! Hope you like it!
I've used Ippity Bit of Burlap, stamps from the Ippity What Matters Most kit, the hearts from the Ippity Moon Beams and Heart Strings and Layers of Color Joyful Noise, The Ippity stamps are available over at Emily's sister blog Ippity Inspiration and the Layer of Color stamps are available at the Make The Day Special shop.
Have a fabulous day
Kim
Materials:

Hello
Hello, my card for today uses my cute stamp set "Hello doodle".I stamped and heat embossed the images then layered them using foam pads.

I love how the embossing turned out. The black powder i used also has glitter and has a fantastic shine and i think it really makes the images pop. I used clear embossing powder for the other images. I used a bit of basic grey paper and the stamped and heat embossed the "hello"

Summer of love
Have you seen the Make the Day Special Competition? Since Emily is feeling all summery and giving away some gorgeous Unity stamps, I thought I'd join in the fun and make a card that reflected Emily's Summer-time theme. I rummaged and rummaged and rummaged through my stamp drawers, but couldn't find anything suitable summery. I did however, find this cute stamp from the Cats Pyjamas 'Loving Mew' set and gave it a seasonal twist adding a sentiment using my Sizzix machine:
Stamp: The Cat's Pyjamas Loving Mew
Paper: Hippie Chick DCWV
Ink: Versacolor Rose Red
Other: brads, Sizzix Girls are Weird alphabet, ribbon, glossy accents
Thanks for dropping in.
Don't forget the competition is open until Saturday...so get the ice-creams out, flip flops on and get stamping!
