Stay Cool

I've made a layout for a change this week using a couple of the Unity store kits available here.

I started by cutting a piece of watercolour paper to 8.5" x 11" and then stamped the background stamp from "Quiet Essence" a few times down the side using Marvy pens. I then lightly misted with water to give the watery effect
.
I used the "enjoy this day" stamp from "Life Becoming" which I stamped on to the photo using black Stazon ink and then used the "Be Unique" stamp from "Naturally You" up in the top right corner and also stamped with Stazon.

Finally I used the corner flourish stamp from "Naturally You" on the top corner of the title.

Materials used:
watercolour paper, DCWV paper
Unity stamps (as above), Marvy pens, black Stazon, black Versafine ink
Scrapworks Hugz, white Signo pen.

I've been having so much fun with my Make The Day Special stamps this week, creating a mini-book to keep all of my summer memories together. (It's going to be a really special summer, so check out my blog Obstinate Pursuit if you want to know the details.)

To add detail to some of my pages I've been using the stamps from two beautiful sets, All About The Journey and A Girl & Her Adventures. They are both super stylish and perfect for adding detail to your holiday scrapbook pages or mini-books. Here's some shots from the inside of my mini - and look, I've finally used the whole luggage stamp rather than just a small element of it. Isn't it beautiful?

Calender

I can't wait to start adding things into my mini-book and I'm certain that I'll also be adding extra details with more of the stamps from these sets. I just can't get over how versatile they are! Enjoy your weekend folks x

I 'Heart' You!

Morning!
Didn't really know what to call the title of this post!!  I have a Bisque Heart to share with you today :-)
In my haste and excitement to try something new to me I didn't take any 'before' photos!
But this was a plain ceramic heart before I started! I applied 2 different colours of Acrylic paint to the base (I used the little Tester pots!) then a slightly darker shade over the top.I then applied a couple of drops of blending solution and started stamping!
I used one of my most favourite sets 'The Artist In You', available from the lovely Emily here
I stamped the 'Leafy' stamps in VersaMark and then applied Perfect Pearls over the top. The words are stamped in Black VersaFine.
I then just went a bit made with the clear embossing powder!! I just carried on until I got a nice shiny surface! The little tag is a little wooden one I have had lying around for ages! It got more or less the same treatment......and I added Distress Ink round the edges!
Thanks for looking, I hope you have a good Monday. Tis lovely here, the sun is shining, I think Spring has finally 'sprung'!!!!

Mother's Day tag

Today I have a quick and simple tag to show you, using the Unity kit A Mother's Love, just in time for Mother's Day next Sunday.

I started by cutting a tag from scrap cardstock and then covering it with the patterned paper before sewing around the edge. I also added some beaded drop trim and a decorative brad. I then stamped the butterfly on to a lightly patterned paper and cut it out and adhered to the tag and added a vintage glass buton to the centre

I stamped  the sentiment and cut it out and added the ribbons.

Materials used:
scrap cardstock, Prima Madeline papers
Unity stamps (as above), Versafine sepia ink
beaded trim, vintage glass button, brad, organza ribbons

Life's too short...

...to wear matching socks! Lol. I love this sentiment!

I stamped and embossed on vellum for the first time, and really like the effect! The stamp set is from Unity's fabulous 'Itty Bitty' range, available here. I paper pieced the image, distressed the edges of the backing paper using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in 'Old Paper' and finally stitched round the outline of each sock.

(And of course what card of mine would be complete without a bow?)

Thanks for dropping by,
