A Froggy Prince

Happy Friday ink lovers!

It's my day to post over at Make The Day Special today, the shop may still not be open yet but Tara is working hard behind the scenes to bring you LOTS of new stuff...... I'm as excited as you guys as I can't wait to have a little (why am I lying to myself) big shop..hehehe.

Today I'm sharing with you a card using one of the older Lawn Fawn sets.... and although this is a older set is still hasn't dated and I don't think ever will.. everything on this set is just sooooo usable!

The frog is the smallest image in the set and just adding a little scene to him makes him work with so much white space... too cute.

Have a go adding a little scene to your smaller stamps ... hope I've inspired you a little to make your smaller stamps work a little harder.

Another Floral Fusion!!

Hello there :0)

I'm back today and snubbing this horrible wet wintery weather with a taste of Summer Florals in the form of a hanging basket of pretty colours :0)

Yes it's those elusive Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals again teamed up with the Joanna Sheen Hanging Basket die and the size match is perfect!! I've also joined the trend for embossing paste and stencils to make a textured wall behind the basket :0)

Embossing paste is a trend that's come back round during my crafting time and luckily my paste is still as good as new... the only thing that's different are the gorgeous plastic stencils available now instead of the brass kind we had to use!! I've coloured my embossing paste with a small drop of Memento Tangelo ink to give it an apricot hue.... when the paste was dry I replaced the stencil and used daubers and distress inks in Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge to give the bricks some extra depth and tone :0)
Those pretty vibrant colours transport me away from this wet gloom outside the window and I hope it injects some colour into your day too :0)
Thanks for stopping by

A-corny Card!

Happy Monday- it's one of those days where Christmas feels really over and everyone has a tendency to the doldrums.
So- I'm doing bright, happy & somewhat corny or 'a-corny' -if you get my drift.

I've used a Lawn Fawn alphabet set and the ever lovely 'Into The Woods'. I simply traced around a die cut circle with pencil, positioned the acorns in a regularly spaced position, then coloured and glittered the little heads. I drew out a banner shape & positioned the sentiment over the banner.

I know it's a dreadful pun. Forgive me. I'm still a bit sluggish after all those Christmas chocs.
Jenny & I have swapped days, so she'll be posting something amazing as usual, tomorrow.

The shop is so very nearly open… hang on for just a leeetle bit longer!

See you soon (hopefully with a less corny sentiment!)

Thinking of You Blues

Good Morning all.

I'm here with a little inspiration for you today in the form of my favourite floral set - Fresh Cut Florals from WPlus9 - and I'm happy to report to fellow fans that the add-on set "More Fresh Cuts" is currently winging its way across the Atlantic along with lots more goodies from WPlus9, Avery Elle, Lawn Fawn and our new brand Newton's Nook!

I've taken the set on the sympathy card route today and arranged a whole host of blue flowers in a cute urn die from Joanna Sheen.

I kept it fairly monochromatic using a blue-green for the leaves which reminds me of those lambs ears leaves I used to rub the white furry coating off as a kid!  After die cutting all the flowers and stems with the co-ordinating dies I went to town playing florist arranging them in the urn using the florists trick of 1, 3, 5 for the focal flowers and berries and filling in around with leaves.  Mounted onto a woodgrain background for added interest and finished with a banner stamped with a sentiment also from Fresh Cut Florals.

I hope that gives you some inspiration ready for when the new stock arrives - hopefully I'll be able to get the shop open towards the end of next week - I just need to get a few things sorted and then we'll be good to go.   Thanks for your patience - and for filling in the survey - I'm working my way through your comments and will do my best to meet your requests.  As with all things we'll need a little time to grow into all the new stuff we want to do so bear with us.  I'll answer some of the comments and requests in a post next week once I close the survey and announce the winner of prize - so if you haven't done it already this may well be your last chance so if you have 5 minutes to spare fill it in now Make the Day Special Customer Survey

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hey Chickie!

Hi!  I thought I would start off the new year with an old favourite of mine. In fact this is the stamp set that got me hooked on Paper Smooches!  This is Chubby Chums! I love the cute images in this set and they are just perfect for colouring with Copics or ProMarkers,   I've teamed this cute little chick up with Mama Elephant Basic Borders - another really versatile set!

And now that Christmas is over... we have Easter chicks and chocolate eggs to look forward to!  I think they are starting to appear in the shops already!

Hope you like it!

Bright Birthday

Happy Friday fellow bloggers ! Still can't believe that we are in 2014 and the past two days have flown by... it will be February before we know it..lol.

Today I sharing a card using two fabulous Wplus9 sets that work so so well together Embroidered Bouquet and Written On Ribbon. I love the look of the florals in the stitched set as they are quite open they can be over-stamped to create a really fun look.

Such a beautiful fresh feeling to this one, right!?!?! For a split second I thought it was winter..hehe.... Isn't the rolled sentiment ribbon just beautiful? I die cut the matching die then stamped again and just layered up the parts with the writing as I feel this gives it so much depth... also the different (and amount) of sentiments in this set is fabulous there is almost one for every occasion and the RSVP ones are just too cute.

Really hope this brightened your day a little and that your day only gets brighter from here!

Hugs, Lydia xxx

PS. Exiting news new Wplus9 and Avery Elle are on the way!!!!
